Review: Answer M8 Helmet

It takes only two words to describe the Answer M8 helmet, 'slick' and 'light'. With some of the worlds best riders can be seen using these helmets, such as Redline's John Purse and Answer's own Chris Schoonover, they are making a real name for themselves.

As BMX tracks become progressively faster and more technical a good helmet becomes the most essential piece of BMX racing equipment.

There are many full-faced helmets on the market now, most of them have enough strength to withstand a BMX crash because they were made for motocross. Obviously they will do the job and they probably look good, but ask yourself are they really practical? The simple fact is they will be heavy, particularly for the younger rider, and that's good if you have a neck like a powerlifter. Unfortunately many of us spend time on the bike rather than in the gym building up our neck muscles.

Lucky for us the Answer M8 has all the strength of a motocross helmet, maybe more, it is made from carbon fiber giving it more than adequate strength to survive heavy impacts but at the same time making it a lighter helmet. It also features removable padding, so it can be washed between uses, which means no more smelly and/or itchy helmets. On top of all that it is finished off with an awesome metallic silver paint job with blue graphics.

The Answer M8 won't make you look like a mountain biker and it won't tear your head off from the sheer weight. The sizes range from XS to XXL, so you have no excuses it will fit. The M8 has to be one of the most awesome helmets to hit the tracks.
