Racing / Re: A Pro and AA Pro in QLD

It never left.  Clubs just chose not to run it here in South East Queensland.  Good to see Pine Rivers giving it a go again looking forward to the action especially with the clubs new start hill and gate.  And a nom on day transponder event too.  More clubs need to go in this direction.
Once again Pine Rivers leads the way here in South Queensland

What will be the cut-offs/restrictions/criteria for PR and A and AA Pro classes at the next open day?

I have always loved the early Supercross frames, would love to get my hands on a cruiser, but not something you see here very often, the odd one comes up in US ebay day

What are people's views on the pre nom events, I often travel for work and occasionally can't commit too far out, I know the pre nom events are a great indicator for the clubs to cater for the crowd on the day.
Next weekend there is a race meet in Gympie that is pre nom, I didn't as I was to be in Perth until Saturday, my trip has changed and I will now be back on Friday evening but noms have closed.

No real big deal as I could do with the break, but how many riders and catering are similarly clubs missing out?

Racing / Re: Are their too many classes after 30yrs old?

A year or so ago many of the 40-44 crew in Qld decided to no down, however several got all pi55y because they would have more competition for their race winnings...that illustrates the 2 camps in oldies BMX, those that just want to race and love the bigger gates and even multiple mixed motos, and those that want $$$$

Simple one I often think about, are their too many classes when racing at club days?

How good would it be to have 30-39, 40-49 and 50+ ?

Would create larger classes, more competition and personally I reckon all-round better racing

Many have mentioned it recently, what are the chances of having both in QLD, would give the newer pro riders a chance of racing in Pro classes and being competitive and when they earn the $$ they move upto the AA Pro ranks?

You could even get the faster older guys racing the new 14yr old pros and creating great racing!

General Discussion / Re: Junior Cruisers - what's the point?

Valid question Dugga, I know a few kids that ride both, and it usually comes down to a few things, either:

* They just love riding and want to race more?
* They choose cruiser to have a more enjoyable BMX experience, less numbers meaning a better chance of a good result, and enjoying racing?
* Riding 1 class with say 4 races in the space of upto 5 hours can be boring perhaps?

Racing / Road clip shoes for racing
« on: September 26, 2013, 04:17:06 PM »
I have been pondering this for quite a while, and after seeing several of the QLD pros who run road pedals unclip and then take an eternity to clip back in and their race is all but done!

Why are they used, surely the advantages that are achieved are quickly outweighed by problematic clipping back in?

Any thoughts?
