1 Way Up in 3D Kickstarter video

by Amy Mathieson
I’m Amy a documentary filmmaker and am proud to tell you about our exciting BMX documentary, 1 Way Up in 3D, now on Kickstarter. The film celebrates the sport, the riders, and their coaches and proves the power of sports. We show freestylers and flatlanders as well as BMX racers.

From the producers of the Academy Award® winning documentary Inocente, 1 Way Up in 3D is the story of Tre and Quillan, two teen boys on the road to the BMX World Championships. They hope to escape one of the toughest gang neighborhoods in London with the only thing they have – a bike. Defying the stereotypes of “black boys in hoods,” they race to the top of the BMX ranks and off the streets.

No one will appreciate the incredible 3D race sequences, animation and hip-hop music more than the BMX community and we need BMXers to finish it. We’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $50,000 by July 26th. If we don’t make that goal, we can’t finish the film

But with your help we’ll succeed and 1 Way Up will be released in festivals this fall and tour the US and UK shortly after. We hope your club will want to be a part of this and host a screening! But again, we won’t be able to do this if we can’t raise the funds to finish the film.

Things you can do to help:

1. Share the Kickstarter link on Facebook, Twitter, Email, etc: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1991864869/1-way-up-the-story-of-peckham-bmx-in-3d

Short link http://kck.st/12pTyjm

2. Watch the short video all the way through (this helps us go up in the rankings!)

3. Pledge – even a $10/£6 pledge gets you a digital link to see the film when it’s done.

Thanks again for helping us make this BMX film a success!
