bmxultra.com Cranking Into 20 Years

It’s been a little quiet around here this past week. Every once in a while I like to take a little break, time to refresh, recharge the batteries. I’m sure a lot of you can relate. It’s been go go go here for nearly 20 years…whoa…2 freakin’ decades…how the heck did that happen?

I started bmxultra.com in 1996, a time where BMX racing was at an all time low in Australia. There were no magazines in Australia at the time, no resources, no facebook, no Olympics, no national funded roads to BMX super-stardom, nothing. Heck at the time there were very few BMX websites, you could count them on one or two fingers and most of the manufactures didn’t even have one. Things have changed over that time (but it looks like we are back to no national magazine – where the heck is Warwick Wheeler anyway?).

In December we will be celebrating 20 years of bmxultra.com, of BMX racing, of BMX products, and being too silly to know when to say stop – you can be assured that won’t be happening any time soon.

We are involved in a number of events coming up over the next couple of months including Go BMXing Day and BSX2017. Both of which celebrate all the best things about BMX, the social side of BMX and just doing it in the dirt on a track built by riders in an event that’s created by riders for riders.

Keep your eyes out for some other things we have planned and thanks for reading bmxultra.com.
