2015 Trans Tasman Test Team

Qualifier to be held within the ACT Titles

7 – 8 March 2015

Must be 11 years of age as at 01 June 2015

Riders compete in 4 motos during the ACT State Titles (Saturday) – best 4 girls and best 4 boys offered a place in the June Junior Trans Tasman Test Team Test Teams (boys and girls) will compete against New Zealand teams in the Trans Tasman Test Team racing event held during the NSW Pre State Titles (and Mighty 11’s event) at Lake Macquarie BMX Track

 


  1. Team Selection Process (Australian Qualifier – ACT Titles)

To confirm which 4 male and 4 female riders will represent Australia on the June long weekend at the NSW BMX Pre-Titles, BMXNSW will hold a qualification event on the Saturday of the ACT State Titles (separate events for boys and girls).

 

Qualification – 4 moto qualifier, this is a points qualifier, ties determined by countback on times (the event will be run using transponders).

The best 4 boys and best 4 girls will be offered positions on the Australian Test team to compete against New Zealand at the June event.

 

  1. Event Entry and Conditions (ACT Titles Qualifier Event)

You Must

  1. Enter the ACT Titles in your age group
  2. Enter the “Test Team Qualifier” event

Go to http://www.bmxaustralia.com.au/en-au/eventsresults/onlineraceentry.aspx and enter the ACT State Titles (scroll down list of events) in your normal age class (minimum). Note that you must enter your age class (Sunday) to be eligible to ride in the qualifier on Saturday.

Then enter the “Test Team Qualifier” class within the same event. To be eligible to enter this event you need to be (a) an Australian citizen, (b) hold a current BMXA licence and (c) be 11 years of age on 1 June 2015.Cost of Qualifier is $20.00 (payable online).

Event can only be entered as part of ACTBMX online entry system

 

  1. Test Team Rider and Parent Responsibilities

It is expected that each rider who earns and accepts a position on the June Test Team will:

  1. Rider family to make a financial contribution of $400 per rider (payable to BMXNSW)
  2. Enter and compete in both the Test Team and Mighty 11’s event (entry costs will be paid by BMXNSW)
  3. Attend all organised team building and training events prior to the event on notified dates –Around April & May, dates to be advised around
  4. Arrive at the Lake Macquarie track on Thursday, 04 June 2015 allowing for coaching and other team building activities
  5. Attend the Team Dinner Friday evening 05 June 2015. Team members costs will be covered (rider parents, siblings and guests are required to cover their own costs (cost and venue yet to be determined)

 

  1. Trans Tasman Test Team Event (June 2015)

The NSW State Pre-Titles combines the following events:

  1. the BMXNSW Pre-Titles
  2. the Trans Tasman Test Team event
  3. the Mighty 11’s event
  4. the Test Team NZ Qualifier event

 

  • The pre-titles are an open race meeting
  • The Mighty 11s event is a prestigious race for age-on-day 11 year olds from across the country
  • The Trans Tasman Test is a battle of 4 Aust Boys v 4 NZ Boys and 4 Aust Girls v 4 NZ Girls over 5 motos
  • The NZ Qualifier is an event for eligible riders to compete to qualify (as per the selection process that will be published) and represent Australia on the reciprocal event of the Test held in New Zealand in October 2015

All events will be run within the NSW Pre-Titles during the June long weekend.

Note: Test Team Rider Parents – There will be periods during training events and throughout the competition where you will have “LIMITED ACCESS” to Test Team Riders. Parents need to provide both Management and Coaching staff adequate preparation time with the Team and individual riders, we may ask for assistance where required, we ask that you allow the riders be part of the team.

  1. Lead-up to the Test Team events – Training Camps

Taking into consideration the logistical challenges of the team makeup, (as yet unknown) BMXNSW will attempt to put together training camps etc prior to the June long weekend to allow riders to learn the intricacies of team riding (an unusual form of BMX racing). BMXNSW Management/Coaching staff will organise such coaching as can be managed by the team members.

 

  1. Team Merchandise (June)

Test Team Riders will be presented with Team uniforms which will include Team Jerseys, race pants, Polo Shirt and Race Plate. Riders are required to race in their team Jersey, and wear their Polo shirts at team activities (i.e. outings and Dinner, etc.).
