Product Spotlight: Trail Scapes Trail Tools

Let’s face it, while BMXing is for everyone track maintenance or building isn’t. If you are amongst “the chosen few” who do like to work up a sweat off the bike you probably look for shortcuts, things that will make the job easier and faster. Sure, there’s heavy equipment; like bobcats or dingos are great, but they’re not always possible and not always the right tool for the job. No matter what you are doing building dirt jumps or maintaining a full blown race track hand tools will always be your friend. My weapons of choice for the past … well, let’s just say a long time … have been a post hole shovel, a mattock and a fire rake while they do a great job they quickly show signs of wear and tear.

bmxultra.com hand model, Glenn Main, pointed out these fire rakes on ‘roids a while back and the temptation was too great, they had to be part of the arsenal. I hadn’t noticed the built in bottle opener until they arrived. I’m sure that feature would come in handy at the end of a long hard day!

South Australian trail building company, TrailScapes, cooked up the heavy duty (bomb proof) Rake N Bake and the Half Baked rakes and for that I am very grateful.

We will be doing a full product review on these products soon. If you are looking for more information for now check out www.trailscapes.com.au/trail-tools
