UCI Supercross World Cup Round 4 at Rock Hill This Weekend

uci-supercross-rock-hill

The UCI Supercross Series recommences this weekend at Rock Hill, South Carolina, after the long World Championships and Olympics break. Rock Hill hosted it’s first UCI Supercross race in 2015 and is all set to host the 2017 World Championships.

It’s a different landscape post Olympics with some heavy hitters missing from the line up. The elite men’s class has only 88 entries for the event and women’s has 28. The lowest numbers I can remember at a UCI Supercross

In the Men’s Elite:

Aussies Sam Willoughby, Anthony Dean and Bodi Turner are all absent making way for some much younger riders that are all busting to make a name for themselves early in the long stretch to the 2020 Olympics.

We also get to see  a number of Chinese riders on the gate for the first time in a while.

Other notable absentees are Great Britain’s Liam Phillips, France’s Joris Daudet and Amidu Mir and USA’s golden boy Connor Fields.

In the Women’s Elite:

Aussies Caroline Buchanan and Lauren Reynolds are AWOL.

Also missing are USA’s Alise Post, New Zealand’s Sarah Walker has promised a return to racing but is a no show and Colombia’s two times gold medalist Mariana Pajon.
