1  Trash talk / Trash talk / Re: Frankston VS Shepparton (hard vs boring) on: February 20, 2010, 12:31:01 PM
after attending the NR round at shepp,i found myself going away from the meeting quite dissapionted. Weather it was the hype of Tom Ritz building a track in VIC that was permanent, [after riding many of his tracks at Worlds] which have all been very good, and expecting too much, or the fact that the track was boring for the am's. This is after all specifically built for the Nationals. As a pro track it was very good. I would have thought that any track should test the riders skills, strength and fittness, not just strength and fitness. I hope they can get things fixed up in time for the Nats.
On a seperate note, since the reply's have been blocked on 'frankston 2nd staight' subject.[I'm a bit slow]
For your infomation Shane or any one else that is bothered, with regards to my track designing qualifications, i don't have any. If you know of any Tafe or other courses let me know please.
My knowledge of track building comes from 27 years of racing in many countries around the world, including world ranked 4 times from 9 tries, 5 National titles 2UK, 3AUS, many state titles,ex VIC board member,ex State coach.Ok thats enough, i don't like to brag but i think this might clear up a few things with you Shane. Thankyou for posing the question in the first place.
I would like to thank Frankston BMX club for trusting my  judgement and giving me and the riders to try and make the track as good and challenging as possible.keep on riding and see you at the nats.

First off i don't condone the use of illegal drugs.
Has any body spoke to Danny? Probably NOT
Has anybody spoke to ASADA? Probably  NOT
There is always 2 sides to a story.
My congratulations go out to ASADA for using the heaps of dollars in funding to catch a mid 30's amatuer BMX racer, well done.

Sorry for my sarcastic words Greg It will never happen again. I guess i'm just too passionate about bmx, and therefore my coments often offend. I just wish people would use this forum for the good of the sport rather than trying to kill it off from within. This is my last say on any subject on this forum. Good luck boys.

Hey Greg, If you wanted a report on Helltrack, all you had to do was ask. What format would you like it in,Email, written and posted out to you, laminated. I'm sure there is some one who would post some pictures for you. If you ask on the forum i'm sure someone will have video of some of the races for you. If there is anything more i can do don't hesitate to ask.

Unlucky Trent,
I've had metal work done in my shoulders,in England in 04 i smashed my collar bone in3 bits, we flew home back to aus the next day and got a pin put in to hold it all together, i was back on the bike 2 months later, racing 3 months later, a few months later did the other shoulder, more metal work. Now just recently i've had an ac joint reconstruction, where they took out my old metal work because that was aggravating the rotator cuff and nearly tore it, they trimed 10 mm of collar bone off and tied downthe rest of the joint called a tape and tightrope. So i'll be out till mid feb, so the nationals are looking shaky.
So now i'm brand new. My advice is that doctors allways air on the side of caution, so get advice from sports doctors and specialists, they may cost but they will get you back on your feet so much faster. You could try Olympic Park next door to the VIS over the road from Vodaphone Arena. Also see a physio early in the piece, he can assess progress and even light movments will help. You don't want to do nothing and end up with frozen shoulder That is a lot worse.
I hope i haven't scared you, every thing is fixable so the main thing is not to panic and be as proactive as poss.
Good luck
8  General Category / General discussion / Re: Vet Pro on: October 26, 2007, 08:50:06 PM
I Think we are losing the thread here. Why make it 35+ or 40+, what is the point of cutting 2 classes from the total.
At World and National  level it is 30+ so i can't see any reason why we need to change it.
If guys don't want to ride against the fast 30's then race age, there are plenty to choose from.
This is Vet Pro, people who race any pro class are generally fast, why should a prospective Pro class be down graded by not allowing all of the 30+ riders a chance to enter.
There are too many classes already diluting the total rider count, classes that don't run finals, just to please a few trophy hunters. In my opinion if the best riders aren't in the class then you havn't earn't the title.
I am more concerned with what happens in Victoria, than what happens in queensland.
As i said earlier lets get every one racing the same class, all together to find out who is the best 30+ rider. There are a lot of 30+ riders that train and ride on a regular basis, why not give these guys a class that can reward them for their hard work, and commitment to their sport. Why should the sport be governed on the principle that every one who enters should get some reward, rather than earning that reward. After all we are proposing  Vet PRO. Not 30+ age class. No more bulldoggy doo-doo, let's just race.

Me too, why 35+ James.By the sound of it you race 30/34, i'll give you 6or7 years and still give it a go. An alternative is to have an A and B final if 20+ riders enter on the day, to give some incentive to the 'James's'.
Any views.
10  General Category / General discussion / Vet Pro on: October 25, 2007, 09:47:58 AM
Just a little question for all those 30+ guys out there.
Who is willing to race in a proper Vet Pro class , A 6 to 8 race series, metro and country mix,Get rid of Bruiser Cruiser, if you want to race for money you race pro if not you race age,no more of this inventing classes to suit a few. Jock organised a meeting for all 30+ riders at knox last year, there was over 30 riders at that meeting, where are they now to follow up on this.BMXV will not entertain this class in any serious fashion without the numbers attending. Just think about it every one in the same class to finally find out who is the fastest 30+ rider  in Victoria. It could be open wheel.
lets have some serious response and get this happening

only me,
Shane, i'm dissapionted in your response, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Bmx bandit, I don't know who you are, but i don't realy care with an attitude like yours.I pay my license fees, my entry fees, and a doggy doo-doo load more for this sport,so for you to dismiss my opinion on my Nationality is a bit low, just take a look at the top left hand corner of your National flag.I applied to race for Aus in 03 worlds But BMXA said no. Since then i have applied to be an Australian citizen[ i was a permanent resident] i have been accepted, but with attitudes like this from you and gorey the main protagenists on this subject, i wonder why i bothered.
Kevo, welcome back, but i think you need to read the rule book before you accuse riders of cheating.
I consider my self an Aussie, i live here,i work here,i pay my taxes here, i have heaps of aussie mates, i love the country, the diversety of each State is awesome and best of all the Aussie people are great[ well most of them]
In future if people are going to post topics of this nature, then maybe they should be open minded enough to accept different views.
This leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but i would like to sit down face to face with bmx bandit and gorey to discus this further and resolve it.
thanks for putting up with the winging pom
trev

Thanks Factory

Hi all,
Just a little point, about your survey, how can you give the results credibility when only 27 people, can be bothered or have the inclination to vote, out of the thousand's of members country wide.
What does that say about the subject matter, or about the very few people that have to winge about some thing that doesn't go their way.
Suck it up, try harder and move on.
14  New school racing / New school racing / Re: WYNDHAM OPEN BMX on: June 11, 2007, 10:30:13 PM
well said warrior. ,Gary,Craig and Saun[get well soon] have done a great job to turn around the club after past goings ons.
It was a perfect day, track was A1, and it ran like clockwork, very relaxed atmos,
i some times get very dissapionted in the lack of support from a great no. of riders that don't ride for the fun of riding any more, they all seem to want awsome tracks and mega prizes worthy of them coming out to ride, but unless riders support these clubs you are'nt going to get money to maintain and improve these tracks. Do you see the catch 22.
Any way enough winging, I had a good day, so if you missed out ,well unlucky.
