General Category / General discussion / Re: 20mm axle hubs.

As you know I"ve been runing 20mm front axles on both my 20" and 24" since the start of the year (Supercross on the 24", Stealth on the 20") and I'm yet to have a problem with them.
Unfortunately, I don't think I get my bikes closs enough to their limits to ultimately tell if they are stiffer etc.
Availability of 20mm forks (Sinz, Supercross, S&M, and Speedline so far) and hubs (Supercross, Profile, Stealth, Sinz, and Chris King later this year) is increasing so only time will tell. |

Brian Kirkham & Bodi Turner were both running them at Nationals last week.
They use carbon steerers on a few high nd suspension forks (more so XC than AM though). So have some faith.
If you have a tendency to 50/50 jumps thugh, I would probably give them a miss. |

I've got a Kuwahara Laserlite Team Issue that I'm trying to get rid of. Rear hub needs some grease (I just don't have the tools to remove the cassette otherwise I'd service it myself), otherwise it's very functional.
Make an offer if you are interested. |

I've got my eyes on a few parts already and am just waiting for them to become available:
- Maximus Bars (both 5.5" for cruiser and 8 for my 20) - Vector Cranks (only for the 20)
While I know I'll need new stems for Maximus bars, I'm not sold on their Delta stem - it just seems excessively heavy compared to some of the more aggressive AM/Trail MTB stems which should surely be up to the task of BMX. |

Mate that is sweet . I am just sitting here shaking my head. I wouldn't have done it any different. Maybe an Answer Scythe for sitting under the 1.5 steerer. Find me an Answer Scythe that takes a 20mm hub...
Sinz's new Elite Tapered Carbon (as designed for the Intense Phenom) will be in there once they are available. |

That absolutely monstrous 1.5" head tube with a Chris King Inset installed:
Now to ride it like I stole it. |

| I have a 2010 Kuwahara Laserlite Team (Pro XL) - I think it's a 21.25" (I'm 6' and it feels great). I've upgraded it a little from stock (Supercross SLT forks, Supercross Fox Yeah! bars). |
