Coastal Challenge Series Portland and Warrnambool rounds
« on: May 01, 2008, 03:50:42 PM »

Entries are filtering through nicely so far, looks like being a good weekend away for these rounds.

Heard from Portland today and they'll be having baked spuds (yummo) at the canteen. Perfect for a hot einter lunch on a chilly day.

$100 plus $10 payback  up for Vet Pro and 14+.

So who's going?

I really enjoyed the track at Portland when I was there for the states and W/Bool is the only track in vic I havn't raced on yet. I am still quite sore from a fall I had a few weeks ago but I have decided I will go and have a peddle around. It's good to see the Western series being bought back to life. I hope they get some solid support.

At Portland and Warrnambool there's always a good crowd from Mount Gambier as it's only a few hours drive.

We've booked accom and sending entries early next week, gunna be a long drive from Warragul!!! Looking forward to checking out new tracks...
Thanks fro the support, I know they sometime struggle to get people to travel down there. They welcome anyone with open arms and always put on a good spread.

Thanks guys ,
I'm sure you will see alot of us guys from Blue Lake ( Mount Gambier ) there as Portland is only an hour away , Warnambool is 2 hours and Geelong is only 3 and a bit which makes em all a short drive .

Does anyone know whether Portland have changed their track since holding the Vic titles?

pj I highly doubt it. Although the track is always in very good condition I don't think it's had muvh chsnges over the years, although I am happy to be pointed out as being wrong.
For those still needing accomodtion fo Saturday night, there's plenty of reasonable places available on wotif.

Portland was great. Weather held out nicely, track was in great condition. Racing was tight. Everyone seemed to enjoy tha day. Bring on Warrnambool.
