2009 Aussies
« on: June 25, 2007, 10:57:40 PM »

A few of the elder statesman mentioned at Lake Macquarie that Shepparton were looking at hosting the 2009 Aussies.  Is this still in the pipeline guys?  Would be an easy drive from most places and would still leave some money in everyones pocket to race the worlds that year.  Also it's great to race at non metropolitan venues.  I think its good for the sport.

Yes Bandit, Shepparton is one of three Victorian clubs to put in submissions. All three where high standard submissions so BMXV have submitted all three to BMXA with our comments.

We expect the final decision will be made through a consultation process between BMXA and BMXV in due course.

yeh bandit, the shepp club with the help of the shepp council have put in a bid for the 2009 aussies, some bmxv people have inspected the show grounds where the aussies track could be built, and from what I hear they were impressed Wink
I also heard frankston were putting a bid together as well, eitherway it would be great to have the titles here in vic!

Don't mention the Knox Aussies.
Some people can still remember the wet. Not quite as wet as Newcastle the other week (no ships on the beach) but you get the picture.
My kids had just started in the sport so were as keen as mustard to see the Aussies but when we went out for a look we drove through the carpark in persistently hissing rain, looked out the windows then drove home.
Victoria for Nationals 2009 will not be wet, repeat after me: will not be wet........
