Shepparton is pretty good weather wise as well. May this year only 1.4mm of rain in the first 15 days.

Hey Graeme

as a new comer to this sport as you know. how much influence does our voting in this actually make? is it with out being rude nor dis-respectful to anyone just a token "yeah submit a form guys and we will look at it, but dont really have any intention of considering you" vote?

because if it is the case of OUR vote does really count how can "I" do more to make it happen? if you need help in submissions or otherwise please let me know.. you have my number!

cheers

Even though i haven't been to the track for almost 2 years, i still think Shep would be a good spot.
Shep gets my vote.

Hey Trent,
as I said at the beginning of the topic it was just a bit of fun although I was genuinely interested in peoples opinions.

OK lets have a bit of fun. Where would you like to see the Aussies run in 2009.

For your information (And everyone else on this forum) BMX Victoria called for expressions of interest from all Victorian clubs. We (The Board)  then formed a small sub committee to evaluate each submission. Once the evaluations where completed we submitted them all to BMXA as it is them that makes the final decision.

It is possible that they will reject all venues or select another state to host the event.

OK just to add a bit more fuel to the discussion, BMXWA [i]WILL be submitting a proposal to BMXA to hold the 2009 Nationals at the Brigadoon Equestrian Centre
This was the venue for the 1999 Nationals and might be a front runner considering the Worlds will be indoors too.
That way a replica track can/may be build to our advantage and to spec.
GO WA.......!!!! Grin

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha .You ve got to be joking. Just look at 2003 we had the Aussies indoors so it would be the same as the worlds. one track in S A for the Aussies totaly different to the track in WA for the worlds.
Brigadoon in WA totaly different to the showgrounds at SA. two tracks the same I dont think so.
BMXA doing something to benifit Australian riders? I would realy like to see that!

even with  the track being outdoors in shepparton the local council have saiid that they are prepaired to rebuild the track to what ever specs that BMXA would like it even including a pro section.I that BMXA need to look at the costs for everyone to travel to both meets as it will have a huge bearing on how many riders will  be able to travel to both events.

I still hope it goes to Victoria.  Thay are looking to boost their numbers of riders and grow the sport.  Could be just the promotional vehicle they need to get people looking at BMX again!

Is there a ploicy: that BMXA are having alternative years for outdoor, then indoor or is it the track/club with the most cash for the bid?

How much does it cost to bid?

My preference is for indoor, as my fur won't frizz up. Therefore allowing my many adoring female fans to see my dazzling, eye catching and striking fur in natures natural... yet, semi-artifficial environment.
