Jared Graves
« on: January 08, 2007, 11:20:51 PM »

Just wanted to give big props to Jared Graves for his performance at Nerang on the weekend, he was dominating AA pro on sunday, won the first 2 mains and was real unlucky in the last one,  his pull is crazy! For those of you who dont know who he is, he's a mountain biker, who was 2nd in the 4X world cup this year, and im sure youll be hearing a lot more about him in the coming months, good stuff Gravey!

Did he win the overall? He's a true champ. In 2005 he got 2nd at the World 4X champs behind Brian Lopes. I seen him race DH in Toowoomba last year. He is crazy fast! Top effort Jared.

no he didnt get the overall, was looking pretty much like he had it in the bag going into main 3, he had the outside lane in final 3 got a wheel in front but was pushed up by Kama in the first corner, then  Kama pulled out of doing the pro section, which stopped about 4 others from jumping it, Fenwick was comitted to the pro section though and unfotunatly landed on top of Graves, and that sent Jared down pretty hard, pretty exciting stuff to watch.
He pretty much reduced everyone else to also rans in the 1st and 2nd finals.

He's doing pretty much all of the series though, he wants an olympic spot, i think he's already proved he'll be hard to look past....

I must be feeling old guys as Jared used to race when he was a little guy at Toowomba and his old man was a mean cruiser racer as well.

Yep the guy is sensational.  And a nice quiet well spoken bloke as well.  Doesn't go around behaving like a d*^# like some of the other so called pro's.  A lot of the others could learn a lot from Dr. Smooth,Bootes and Graves when it comes to conducting themselves.

It was an awesome race, Graves once again holeshotted pretty easily, Bubba got into 2nd, and from there the 2 of them rode away from the rest of the feild by about 15 bike lengths, that was with Bootes, Robinson, Jamie Gray in the race as well.

Also, Steve janssen rode super good too to get into 3rd i think, worth a mention...

Hey all, I havent seen jared race bmx yet, but i have seen him race 4X against Luke Madill, he is definately quick.
He has made a pretty big name for himself in the 4X and Downhill world, he is right up there in the mix with the best in the world.
You will fond most mountain bikers with high profile sponsors like Jared conduct themselves very well and only misbehave when the time is right for it. I hope we get to see him race at Knox.
