I know a few riders who ran stealth hubs in that swamp at Mackay and none of them had any problems with water or mud
If you want the best buy stealth,  chris kings are good but technology is old compared to stealth
like all componants on bikes perodic maintanance is a must regardless of which brand you use

the stealth are the way to go. I rode mine at Mackay and gave the bearings a wipe down and a clean and they are fine never really hd any problem with them at all  Grin. The kings cant come in the same range to a Stealth or Elite more expensive but less engagement?Huh?

Regardless of what Hubs everyone prefers, when you race in slushy muddy conditions, something is going to go wrong. Maintenence should be carried out regulary, especially after a muddy race meet.

Russ,

You missed my point, I was referring to technology. The Stealth sprag clutch is advanced, plain and simple. Try fitting them to your bike and see for yourself, you can see from a number of forum members they are great! Grin Grin Grin

No probs.

I am certainly not an elite rider by any means.  The technology would be wasted on me at the moment.

Enjoy your Stealths mate. I will get by on the older technology for now.

I know I am a Chris King fan, but the Stealth seem to crap out a lot faster than the Kings and require a heap more maintainence, Kings also have a 10 year warranty, thats how much they believe in their product Wink

After a lot of thought we had wheels built using the Stealth hubs.  They are a truly amazing hub and after using Profiles for a number of years my young bloke says he will never go back.  We rode every hub we could think of prior to buying Stealth.  I would suggest everyone thinking of buying new wheels at least ride a bike with Stealths before deciding what to spend your hard earned cash on.  Amazing.

Bandit

I like the way you went about this by trying other hubs before making a decision and then it would appear the decision was made based on the riders feedback. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Like my father used to say "Opinions are like a*&%holes, everyone's got one".

True.  He made the decision based on how the various hubs felt to him.  I didn't attempt to influence him at all.  It was September when he first was asked what he would like and January when he finally made a decision.

The point I was attempting to make was try them, try everything you can. Irrespective of other peoples thoughts buy what you like after you have PERSONALLY experienced them....... and then live with your decision.

For the millionth time:

When maintained correctly, Stealth hubs fine, dry or WET. I've raced a few wet meets with my sit without a single drama. Love them.
