Well they don’t call it the “Speccy” for nothing, that is right the BMX racing at Geelong BMX Club today incorporating round No 4 of the Pro Tour was an absolute cracker.
The track was prepared sensationally by the Geetroit crew and was super fast! Serious fast!

The Pro Tour consisting of the A Men, Vet Pro, Pro Ladies and AA Men has been a revelation in regards to spicing up racing and increasing the numbers and interest of pro riders in Victoria in 2012 and we can only hope that it continues into next year and beyond.

The commentary team would like to extend its appreciation to the pro riders that gave up their time today to be interviewed prior to the racing. It is not just the info you guys and girls enlighten us with but also it is great to get to know the personalities of our sports elite athletes, and the junior riders love hearing what their heroes have to say about the sport.

Prior to the days practice and racing there was a fair bit of verbal argy bargy between some of the heavy weights in the AA Men’s regarding previous racing events bragging rights and so on, ooohhhh settle down boys was the call but the tension was almost going to be cataclysmic!

The day kicked off with practice with all riders looking super quick, Matthew Dunsworth was carving it up serious fast but at the end of the day had a shocker; mental note for next time don’t pump the riders up too much, lol. The only serious note from the pro practice was the huge “get off” young Matt White had when he ditched it in the 3rd straight after over manualing.

A Men motos: So much talent it is incredible as there were (4) gates of these boys that battled it out today for top honours with at least a dozen or so blokes that could seriously rattle the cage. Jake Sverns, Coohen Gooden, Brandon Te Hiko, Matt White, Jackson Ladd, Ben Jackson, Dane Pangallo, Luke Smith and even the elder statesman Grant Williams to name a few were looking hot to trot!
Unfortunate for young “Te Freako” but he buried himself into the 1st berm of the 1st semi, very unusual for him not to be in the final but that opened up the door for some of the other boys.

Vet Pro motos: Simon Anderson (Gordo said he would be the dark horse, and he was!), Gary Morgan, Trevor Stamford at the pointy end of the field with Rob Slatter putting in a great effort on an unfamiliar machine after destroying his hub on the 20” just prior to the event blokes like Craig Walczuk, Glenn Main, Aaron Rogers and Tim Kiddle are keeping the guys honest.

Pro Ladies: Well we know that Jaclyn Wilson is dominating this class (and leading the united pro cup) with Emily Richardson and Antonia Rickett nipping at her heels getting faster each race meeting, but for us blokes on the mic the stand out today had to be young Esther Woodward! Where has this young lady been hiding? Plenty of action mid pack with Caroline Sobotka & Mandie Morgan putting in some good results followed closely by the rest of the ladies.

AA Men: Never disappoints! Hectic, fast, unforgiving and relentless!
Usual blokes at the pointy end of the field like Olivier Hoarau, Tom Siinmaa, Joel Clark, Jordan Morgan, but Max Cairns, Levi Collins and Dave Habicht stepped up hard today giving those boys a nervous twitch or two, Matt Dunsworth best finish was 2nd in Moto 3.

Finals were fantastic with enough cameras recording the footage I am sure it turn up soon!

Final results for the Pro Tour for the Geelong Spectacular 2012:

A Men; 1st Dane Pangallo, 2nd Matthew White, 3rd Cohen Gooden.
Vet Pro; 1st Simon Anderson, 2nd Garry Morgan, 3rd Trevor Stamford.
Pro Ladies; 1st Jaclyn Wilson, 2nd Esther Woodward, 3rd Emily Richardson.
AA Men; 1st Olivier Hoarau, 2nd Joel Clark, 3rd Tom Siinmaa.

Crashes in the finals spoilt the days of Jake Sverns, Grant Williams, Luke Smith, Tim Kiddle, Jordan Morgan, Dave Habicht and Levi Collins. They live to fight another day!

Well the Final round will be at Shepparton on the 6th May, can’t wait to see the carnage unfold!

Good luck to all our Victorian Pro riders, bring us home some Aussie titles and plates!

Love BMX, see you guys and girls soon from the crew: Mossy, Travo & Tys.

Hey guys and girls,

The commentary crew (TMT), Travo, Mossy & Tys are now online with bmxultra  Grin

We hope you have enjoyed the previous posts from Park Orchards (Clash of the Titans) & the Geelong (Spectacular). Thanks PRA boys for posting for us why we were not online.

Anyway, the racing has been sensational and us blokes up at commentary are very much enjoying the opportunity to call the racing, we sometimes get a little over excited  Cheesy

The final round of the Pro Tour will be held at Shepparton BMX Club on the 6th May.

Again we wish all Victorian riders from sprockets to the Pros the best of luck with their upcoming endeavours at the National Titles in Mt Gambier SA.

We know that the sacrifices you pro guys and girls are making to reach your peak for the National Titles is worth every second of pain, doubt and suffering!

Remember we are ALL behind you! Irrelevant of what club or allegiences, as you are representing our state Victoria for the ultimate prize!

Good luck, we know you will do your best!

PRO TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP
FINAL ROUND, SHEPPARTON BMX CLUB
SUNDAY 6TH MAY 2012

Welcome all BMX fans,

Well  it has come to the pointy end of the Pro Tour here in Victoria, with the Australian Titles raced and won the riders can now focus on the final round to be held at Shepparton BMX Club.
What a track to finish the Pro Tour on as we know Shepparton has an unbelievable track that conjures up some awesome racing, we don’t have to go too far to look back as Shepparton has hosted the Victorian State Titles 2011 and the Australian National Titles 2010.

PRO TOUR WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND ITS APPRECIATION TO THE FOLLOWING SPONSORS:

•   BMX RACER MAGAZINE
•   MD PRINT
•   UNITED EQUIPMENT
•   BRICKWORK DIRECT
•   FIXRITE CONSTRUCTION

Interviews:   The top riders in the classes will be interviewed.
Listen out for your favourite rider’s views and thoughts about the racing.
Signings:        Limited edition posters will be signed and given away,
Kids bring anything you would like your favourite riders to sign.
Give aways:  Who can resist free stickers?

RACING AFTER 4 ROUNDS:

AA MEN:

1st Olivier Hoarau (105), 2nd Tom Siinmaa (89), 3rd Jordan Morgan (80)

Bodi (Turbo) Turner (Probikx Junior Men Series Winner Overall) and has been selected to represent the National Team for the UCI World Championships U19 Men, ranked W6.
Jordan Morgan 17-24 Men (1A), 17-24 Cruiser (1A).

Well the racing for the elite lads is always a riot to watch and we can only guess what will unfold at Shepparton on the 6th May, some of these boys have hit their straps while unfortunately some of the lads have hit the track “hard!”
Looks like Oli will take out the bragging rights for the AA Men as his closest competitor the Tomahawk crashed heavily at Mt Gambier (showed it on SBS Cycling Central, looked nasty) and injured his knee quite badly. Jordan Morgan looks like he will slip into second  after his successful Nationals campaign, but he better keep an eye out for Matty Dunsworth as he is only 5 points behind and finished strong in the final of the Probikx at Mt Gambier finishing 4th.
Riders Dave Habitch, Levi Collins, Joel Clark, Bodi (Turbo) Turner, Steve Gedye, James Lautier and Ath (Psycho Chicken) Chaimayo have had times of brilliance and remember some of the lads have been competing in the Probikx. Seriously can’t wait until the gate drops!

A MEN:

1st Jake Sverns (98), 2nd Cohen Gooden (85), 3rd Luke Smith (70)

Matthew White (14 boys Champbikx Series Winner Overall,) 13-14 Cruiser (1A)
Brandon Te Hiko (15 boys Champbikx 2nd Place Overall)
Max Cairns (16 boys Champbikx Place 2nd Overall)

Well what can we expect? Nothing but a bunch of talented blokes ringing the guts out of themselves and their machines, banging bars and taking no prisoners! That is what you can expect!
Jake Sverns seems to have had a target on his back and has been sent bush bashing over the berms on occasions, but chatting with the young man he is ready for anything to be thrown at him.
Cohen Gooden was fast at Geelong but inconsistency and a tendency to bury himself are the only things that are holding the young man back. And Smithy has the ability to manoeuvre through the pack as nice as you like but needs to get his starts squared away as he can win races.
Dane Pangallo will leave a void in the A Men due to breaking a bone in his hand at Mt Gambier during practice at the Australian Titles; he remains focused on getting himself right for the Worlds.
But being the super deep class that it is the “A Men” will be frantic and furious with not just the top 3 lads rocking and rolling but the riders just behind them on the leader board like Matt White, Tonn Haydon, Thomas Freeman, Brandon Te “Freako”, will be ready to devour the scraps if there is any carnage! Which folks is a sure bet!

VET PRO:

1st Gary Morgan (98), 2nd Robert Slatter (92), 3rd Tim Kiddle (72).

Gary Morgan 45+ Cruiser (1A), Robert Slatter 30 & Over Men (1A), 30-34 Cruiser (1A).

These boys will be revved up after a successful National Titles campaign and Robbie will be ready to chase down Gazza Morgan for the title in the Vet Pro class, and with only 6 points splitting the boys it will be a cracker. I am pretty sure I have made comments about the dark horse of this class, that’s right Mr. Kiddle has quietly positioned himself into 3rd place; he will be under the pump by Mainy only 4 points back and then Trev another 6 points back. Who wants to be on the lower rung of the podium more?HuhHuh?? We can only wait to see which of those 3 riders wants it more!

PRO WOMEN:

1st Jaclyn Wilson (112), 2nd Emily Richardson (87), 3rd Antonia Rickett (83)

Jaclyn Wilson 17+ Women (1A), 35-39 Cruiser (1A).

Well the juggernaut continues to conquer all before her, young Jaclyn Wilson is an unstoppable force in the ladies classes at the moment, just look above to see her National Titles results.
Emily and Antonia have been hammering each other all series long, great friends off the track the gloves can clearly be seen to be taken off once the girls hit the track, with only 4 points between them these two ladies may be swapped around on the podium come presentation time.
Mandie Morgan, Caroline Sobotka, Jacqueline Lyon have been keeping the leaders honest with some sensational  rides through the previous 4 rounds, with one of my favourite girls Caroline Sobotka showing that she can still give the younger girls a run for their money and always wearing a smile.
The stand out for me at Geelong was young Ester Woodward who really rattled the cage and changed the dimensions of the class significantly, can only hope that she can participate in the entire series next year.
Plenty of talent rising in this class with Issabella Penglase, Tahlia Waldron, Maddi Shadbolt, Samantha Molloy, Kaylagh Tucker, Samantha Duval and Shari Kennedy all having their individual highlights and showing great promise for their racing futures.
And we can’t forget Erin Anderson, her aggressive racing style and determination were missed sorely in this class due to injury, hopefully Erin can keep herself fit and have a strong return next series.

UNITED PRO CUP:

1st Jaclyn Wilson (112), 2nd Olivier Hoarau (105), =3rd Jake Sverns (98) =3rd Garry Morgan (98).

Looks like Jaclyn will take out the Pro Cup for 2012 closely followed by Olivier Hoarau; the only deciding factor for the last spot on the podium is between JS & Gazza.

PRESENTATION FOR THE FINAL ROUND OF THE PRO TOUR 2012:

PRESENTATION OF THE BRICKWORK DIRECT PRA RISING STAR AWARDS.

PRESENTATION FOR THE TOP 3 IN THE PRO CLASSES ON THE MD PRINT PODIUM.

THE UNITED EQUIPMENT 2012 PRA CUP WINNER WILL BE PRESENTED WITH THE TROPHY AND CHEQUE.

Well done to all riders and the best of luck at Shepp, see you there.

Thanks.

Mossy.

Pro Tour
Hey guys and girls, don't forget that entries close for TONIGHT AT 8PM so GET THOSE ENTRIES IN. Just incase anybody's not sure, just because you are not in the top 8 does not mean that u can not race, the race day is a normal race day,the only race that includes the top 8 shootout is AFTER THE NORMAL DAYS RACING.

Also if you are IN THE TOP 8 and you can not race, Unfortunately your spot in the SHOOTOUT will be given to the next rider with the most points, as we are wanting to fill up the gate for the FINAL!

Comon everybody get those entries in lets finish of this series with a massive turnout for Shepparton Bmxclub for the last round of the Pro Tour

THE FINAL ROUND ENTRIES OF THE PRO TOUR ARE CLOSED!

Awesome turnout guys over 60 pro's, with A men 3 short of quarters that will be a tough day for you blokes!
well done to the daneosaur for giving it a go!
Has any race meeting ever had so many all vic A men?

AA men will have 2 new faces in the shootout with Joel Clark and Turbo turner missing from the entry list!
The aussies set up a couple of grudge matches in this class so look out for carnage!

The Pro Women have a couple of the usual suspect's missing as well so the top 8 will change there for sure!

Good to see the states top Vet Pro yes Mr Anderson making an appearance for the shoot out the question for this class is who will take him on!

Due to the fantastic support from the BMX community i think we will have to do it all again next year!

Pro Tour
First of all big relief Levi walked away from a very serious crash a very determined and respected Pro rider and i speak for everyone by looking forward to his next race!
Big thank you to all the Pro riders for their support throughout the TOUR.
Also well done the Shepparton club and officials especially Di lacey and Yvonne lyon there was a bit of pressure in staging and you all did a great job thank you.
The PRO TOUR would"nt have been possible without the sponsors

MD PRINT, UNITED EQUIPMENT, BMX RACER, BRICKWORK DIRECT,
FIX-RITE CONSRUCTION .

Also all the clubs who held a round of the Tour.

We started the PRA because we felt we could make a difference, the talk on the street already is more rounds and more backing for next year's calendar.
If you would like to be a sponsor or would like to make a suggestion for PRO TOUR 13 drop us a line.
We test drove the TOUR this year and we can improve it.

FOR THE PRO'S BY THE PRO'S.
