Let's have a look at the South Australian entry to the Nats.

To qualifying for the Nationals, you have to do a State Titles the year before, but then there is a states titles before the Nationals you just qualified for, but that States is for the Nationals the year after, even though it’s before the one you qualified for, the year before.
Confused, I think their Association is too....

How about this as a fantastic idea.

States in the same year, just before the Nationals. "WOW"

SA States used to be at the end of the year but they moved it to the begining of the year to accomodate the champ bike pro bikes about 5 years ago. BMXA make the rules re qualifying for Nationals.

SA run their states the same as ACT and WA.....that's 3 out out 8...

It's the rule that needs to change.

What have you got against SA......they've (probably) produced two of the next Oz Olympians ...SamW and Kirkham

BMXA make the rules re qualifying for Nationals.
BMXA have got nuthn to do with it, the State Assn has made that decision on the qualifying period for the Nats, not BMXA!! Why blame them??

They still trying to get a rat for the tredmill to power their commodore 64 computers?
Goes to show how sloooow or slack your little Assn is for change!!

Psykopath: respect for the riders, they are the best of the Aussies, Brian and Sam are the nicest, most talented riders around, however, the state didn't "probably" make the riders, the riders made themselves!!

Yeah practice done, and a smashing track Wink, I'll send ya a few photos after Sundays racing to show how tracks that are technical and have Pro Straights should look like Grin

Speaking of which,  heard a little female birdie up here: spouting her mouth off about your titles this year.

Quote her as saying...
THE DECISION WAS A MISTAKE
by the board and .."should have been at the Mt and not at the Cross, now are saving face, back pedelling, by giving the 2013 States to the Mt......a year too late."

Wow if that's true, what a can of worms that opens.Undecided

Hear anything down there Mr Lewis, or are your members kept in the dark??

No havent heard anything re 2013 states. Normally expressions of interest are sent out to the clubs around now. anouncement made after 2011 states.
Shep also hosted the vic states the year after the Ausies where held there but I dont hear you flogging them.
Are you coming to sleepy backwards Adelaide?

Wow...that means that Mount Gambier will host:
- 2011 BMXSA State Titles (SA qualifying event for the 2012 Nationals)
- 2012 Nationals
- 2013 BMXSA State Titles

+ consecutive SA v VIC events
+ several rounds of the BMXSA State Series

That's pretty good going and testiment to Mt. Gambier significant investment, both in time and money, in developing their new track.

Also, for most clubs hosting a state titles (and pre-titles) is a significant drain on volunteer resources.

To host pre titles, state titles and Nationals within two months would bankrupt the volunteer resource of any club.

Seems like BMXSA management have considered these issues.

LEWIS:
You've been left in the dark by your Assn. Amazes me that we (up here) hear what's going down there before you do.
Maybe there is a knot in the string line.
Flying past backwards "boring tracks" Adelaide to Mt Gambier, to get some time on that  Pro Straight, why stop in Adelaide??

Bottom line: decision has disadvantaged SA riders and therefore they have missed the opportunity for major leadup race time on the Aussies track.
God forbid is this occurred in QLD/NSW.....  heads would roll.

Maybe they should have liaised with their experienced BMX State Coach first.
As he would draw on the wealth of personal rider experience to give a logical rider based decision to give to the committee.

PSYKOPATH:
Agree partly, financial also as I gather since the clubs don't get sweet diddly money from the Assn for holding your States and State Series.
Why would you bother ... keep the Assn out of the money tin.
As a state as a whole competing a Nats chasing plates, rider time on a Nats track is very important.
....."you wonder why SA riders get shut down, freeze up and spat out of the pack when they hit up a NATS."

Are you would you ride SA state tittles Ridehard???
SA State serries round in March is at Mt G & is open to all to race. I know its not the state tittles but the event is closer on the race callender.
As for the state Board making decissions that is why they are there. If people in the state dont like the decissions being made they can step up & be part of the solution.
Just to clarify I am not on any Board but do understand the work put in by VOLUNTEERS to host events
