Just read on a GB forum that Time Trials will be awarded separate medals at the Olympics.....

Very much a rumour at the moment....the source is the German BMX coach...

But could roll out....still only 32 riders race at the 2012 Olympics....TT's in 2008 were only used for seeding purposes....

While I don't think that it replaces bar to bar racing.....any additional exposure is beneficial for promoting BMX....

Time trials also give individual riders more exposure....if the public can idenify a BMX "celeb" then that also raises the sports profile.....

However, some riders who blitz a TT....may not be great on a full gate.....picking a team may be a drama....



Who things gving Olympic medlas for TT is a good idea??

Go one step further and make all time trial riders use the same roll out. What next teams pursuit or backwards race.
