looks like thay have move this to cheque book raceing like the chimp bike rounds. it would be great to see riders with talent rather riders with parents with big cheque books.
Having a race to qualify for a position is a step in the right direction...compared to lack of transparency of submitting resumes. The choice of which event to host the qualifying race is a compromise....... The best option would be to have a pre-nationals event. But that would conflict with the Dynamite race scheduled (although BMXA use the Champbikx as selection for the Senior Challenge team for NZ v Oz at North Island and Nerang). ACT titles is a pretty good alternative, and widely regarded as a warm up event for the Nationals. The Oz 2012 Mighty 11s event is scheduled just after the worlds....hopefully not too much of an impact. Hope we have our strongest test team......I'd like to see both Jaden Rice and Izaac Kennedy racing.

At least with this qualification process riders are selected on current form not past form. Even with a resume, riders still need to travel to the event anyway! In the past riders who were in form and beating riders who had plates and good history, were overlooked for selection. I have seen this first hand with one of my children! Also the race event where girls raced boys to make the Australian Team also needs to be reviewed as it makes the draw unfair at times. Boys should race boys and girls race girls. If a female rider is that good to beat the boys she should stay on the female team to make them strong not try and boost the male team. There are a few flaws with the whole process, but it appears the people involved are looking at making some changes and heading in the right direction. Good luck to all kids who are eligible. It is an honour to represent your country!

Too late for accommodation and extra expense for people Psykopath!
I think it's a good idea, although I do agree that if you weren't going to the Nationals expense is a problem. Plenty of accommodation though, I have been offered cabins and units due to cancellations. The caravan parks now have cabins available.
