2012 BMX Victoria Junior State Series

The 2012 BMX Victoria Junior State Series kicks off in one month.

The BMX Victoria Junior State Series “piggy backs” onto scheduled opens and offers:
–   seperate series race class for 8 to 13 year olds
   o   FREE entry cost to series classs
   o   must nominate / pay for age class
–   award ranking plates

The objective of the series is to promote rider participation / retention through providing :
– local / achieveable goals
– value for money (two classes for the price of one)

Scheduled rounds for the BMX Victoria Junior State Series are:
- 26/2/2012 Wyndham
- 11/3/2012 Eastfield
- 25/3/2012 Park Orchards
- 1/4/2012 Geelong
- 6/5/2012 Shepparton
- 20/5/2012 Western Park

What is this magical Eastfield round on 11/03/2012?

Both the Pro Tour and the JSS are piggy-backing on it, yet BMXV says NOrthern Park has it's open that weekend, not Eastfield.

Northern Park pulled out as their track is not ready....
The date was offered to clubs..... Eastfield put their hand up.

The 2012 calendar was discussed at the EMG on Monday (23/1/12).
Another event has been changed:
12 Feb 12 Interclub Charity Event.....now at Geelong (was Ballarat)

First draft of FAQs

1.   What is the 2012 BMXV Junior State Series?

The Victorian State BMX Championship raced of 6 rounds that award 1-8 State ranking plates for each class.

2.   What do I get if I finish in the top 8 at the end of the series?

End of series awards are a State ranking plates riders ranked 1-8 in each class.

3.   Why have a State Series?

To offer more competition at a State Championship level to Victorian riders.

4.   How is the Series structured?

The State Series “piggy backs” onto scheduled opens in the first half of the year. The series is run as an extra separate class.

5.   What’s the reason for a separate BMXV Junior State Series class?

Few reasons:
i.   Offers more racing (kids love to ride their bikes)
ii.   Provides value for the money (two classes for the price of one)
iii.   Able to seek separate sponsorship to provide future end of sereis:
-   prizes,
-   trophies and
-   State Series Champions jersey
iv.    Opportunity to develop racing format (e.g. voucher)
v.   Does not affect club sponsorship / naming rights.

6.   Why is the series run from Feb to May?

4 months is long enough to have reasonable gaps between races and short enough to provide near term goal to complete the series.
Also the 2nd half of the year is dominated by several events building up to the BMXV Open State Titles.

7.   Can I just enter the Series and not the Open?

No.
Clubs host the open and invest funds to prepare the track. You must enter and pay for an age class to support the club.

8.   How come entry is FREE for the State Series?

This is a BMX Victoria initiative to support the growth and development of BMX in Victoria for both riders and clubs.

9.   Can I ride up an age?

No.
If classes are merged, you will be scored for the class entered at each event.

10.   Do I have to race all six rounds?

No.
You have to be in it to win it……..the more rounds you race the more points you earn. Rider are ranked on total points scored.

Hey Josh,

series entries close on Wednesday 22/02/2012.......

Series entries can be made through:
- email to stateseries@bmxv.com.au (scan and attach entry form)
- text (multi media photo - see entry form)
- pm photo of entry form to FB page (bmxvictoria juniorstateseries)

Also, entries can also be made to individual rounds the same as the host open event...

Big thumbs up and credit to you Graham. The JSS went off well today and I hope it will build in strength and spread over other classes for Victorian riders in the years to come. Grin

Just a shame my boy crashed out in 2 of his JSS moto's but, that's racing for you Wink

Some great racing today in the heat and wind. Shocked
