Bonzai - are the numbers a little lower than previous years?

WA States seem to be down around 8% from last year (514 - 472 noms)

Hi Mattco, yes they appear to be and I believe there are a few contributing factors. There has been some concerns spoken around the sport as to whether the track will be ready and the event going ahead at the track......YES it is all on task so far. Some issues with the new barrel gate have been sorted, grass has been laid, cabling done to accommodate the repositioning of the light poles to remove them from any sections of the track which caused issues last event, a new commentary tower built and the removal of the old one allows for heaps better viewing of the racing, the track has been tweaked with a new 5 meter start hill, the jumps have been shaped and surfaced as we speak. Things are a little behind schedule but the show will go on and hopefully be a good one.

The other reason may be the fact that Aussies entries are due the week after the event and people may not have the available funds to do the event and have money for entries. I know I am struggling and we live here!

Combine both issues and that may answer the question.

Oh yeh and did I mention the weather!!!!! 

If it stopped pissing down for a day or so would be nice! Poor ACT riders have had little or no track time due to the ongoing weather! That has raised stress levels some here in teh ACT I can tell you!

I am not sure if this affects the number of entries at the ACT'S but good to see you are using rule:

"(8 or less entrants will ride an extra moto BMXA Rule 4.E.4.i)."

The ACT titles offer classes for all riders ability and choice.

Unpaid Gorey, you promote BMX more than some of those free airfare BMX Olympic Junket BMXA types. About time they made a donation towards ur work. I know they spent a lot on Gavin D(getting rid of him that is).

Numbers picked up today, 518 entries on ezeventing and I notice some entries haven't migrated across from the ACTBMX site yet.

Should be a great event, looking forward to it.
