Great meeting at whyndam bmx today heaps of races for the guys and gals .
Just a thought if a rider races in a higher age class than normal   then drops back to his own age class for the race series do you think they should have nominate if there going to run there class all the way through the series . i just find it a bit strange why you would drop back .its like a AA rider going back to A .Maybe its just bragging rights showing a plate which really means stuff all . Is it more for the parents to win a plate or is it for the riders them selfs.
i personaly don't care where my son comes as long as he is doing his best and comes back after a race with a smile on his face. i know i will cop flack for this but hey thats life.

Hey shifty it is a bit like girls riding in the boys classes.

it is all about finding people who you can race on your level.

and having fun!

Hi Shifty,
It was a great day at Wyndam, some kids in there own class are a stand out and i think need to race up a class to get some competion, and then there are kids that race up class for what reason i dont know? dont understand it? some parents must think there kids are better than what they are? Yes your son always has a smile on his face and thats whats its all about

Hi Shifty,

Please note that VSS ranking plates 1-8 for each age class will be awarded to Victorian riders. This represents a much better chance of achieving a plate than at the open state titles (where in some classes only 2 plates stay in Vic).

The 2012 BMXV Junior State Series is a Championship event, winning a series plate is a great achievement. I hope to see plenty of ranking plates on bikes.
Hopefully a State Series Champion Jersey will be introduced from 2013.

The rules for the 2012 BMXV Junior State Series state:
"Each rider will ride in their natural year of birth class"

http://www.bmxv.com.au/2012_BMXV_JUNIOR_STATE_SERIES_RULES.pdf

Riders can race up an age or opposite gender in the host open event, compliant with the BMXA rulebook.

The decision to offer natural age was discussed.
If the series rules allowed riders to race up; there may be people not happy riders racing up are taking plates from their riders age group.

The series rules will be reviewed for 2013........including entry age criteria.

Happy to talk trackside if you want.

Well done Graham, you have done a great launching this series. The feedback has been extremely positive with all riders and families itching to get to the next round. Let's hope this series goes from strength to strength and continues to grow.
