Would I be correct in thinking that if the UCi event is cancelled and UCI points can not be obtained
UCI rules focussed on road racing: 1.2.014 Any change to the date of an event included on the international calendar shall be subject to prior authorisation by the UCI or, for a UCI WorldTour event, the Professional Cycling Council at the request of the national federation of the organiser. If there is a change of date or if an event is cancelled, the organiser shall be liable for a fine the amount of which shall be set each year by the management committee, subject to recourse to the arbitral board. The decision of the arbitral board is final and not subject to appeal. The pertinent bit is: if an event is cancelled, the organiser (BMXA) shall be liable for a fineThis is OK for road events..... where riders aren't required to jump +9m in high winds......track surface is tarmac and not washed away / soft.. However, the UCI rulebook contradicts itself..... 1.2.130 In the event of any non-compliance that cannot be rectified in good time, the start of the event may be delayed or cancelled or the event may be stopped. Perhaps the following are "non-compliances": - high winds (Bunbury) - washed out track (ACT)

Message from the ACT President, NOTICE TO 2012 BMX ACT CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANTS It was a difficult decision to postpone the 2012 ACT Championships and I believe the right one. Canberra like most of SNSW and a large portion of Victoria received what was to be record rainfalls with the constant threat of flood in the lead up to our event. Rain did occur constantly from early Saturday afternoon and didn't stop until 2pm on Sunday and what would have been the entire period of the Championships. This with a track, parking and surrounds that quite frankly wouldn't have stood-up to what mother nature threw at us in the lead-up to this event. We will re-run the 2012 Championships at a date yet to be decided. As you may be aware there are several requirements to be considered and discussed with stakeholders and the ACT Committee before any decision is made on a new date, which likely to be in the latter part of this year. I ask all to be patient while we consider options on dates and we should have a new date posted in the coming weeks. I thank all for your patience and understanding on this matter. Regards, Stephen Thomas ACT BMXA | President
