Warragul Open?

Heard a rumor that the upcoming Warragul open meet may be a bit shakey. Can anyone confirm if it will be run? Want to book a motel for the night, just thought I would try to confirm beforehand.

Final approval given by BMXV EMG tonight.

No rain predicted for today and tomorrow.
The track is higher than ground level and drain well.

Should be fast and great racing.

If anybody can help on Saturday or Sunday with getting our track setup for our open meet, it would be greatly appreciated.

We have very few of our own members and rely on the BMX community's help to survive.

We will be at the track from about 10am Sat and plan on running some gates from about 2 till 5ish depending on how much help we get.

Also on Sunday morning we need extra bodies  to setup, especially from about 7:30 till 9:30.

I may have put this up before in another thread but here is an article from August 1985 showing some results from the first open meet held at the old Warragul track.

If this open meet is like the one in the 80's it will be a great day.

I am sure that some of the other boys like Simon Trewin would have been there as well.

How nearly 27 years has flown.

Congratulations to The Warragul club for presenting such a well run race meeting today. Fine weather great track that just kept getting faster and faster, and great atmosphere. The facility there was just great, and the racing even better.

My sons first impression of the track was not good, complaining there was nothing little for him to jump, but as he got used to the track he started tearing it up, and decided he really loved it.

For anyone ever looking for a clubby, or a track to practice on one weekend, this is a beauty, and only an hour from Melb.

Couldn't agree with you anymore bmxhertz. My son had a blast at the track and we'll be going back for some clubbies and rides/training in the future.

X 2 on above posts ... After practice I wasn't sure about the track ( just my own preference ) but I warmed to it during the day , I liked the tight corners the most ..there was some killer passes going on all day ! We had a great day ( 3 kids and myself ) and we're very grateful to the club and volunteers for their effort
