plans BEFORE the OLYMPICS
« on: June 09, 2012, 09:08:07 PM »

Great post - Plans after the Olympics. Karlos has the answer....

I don't believe there's another post about promoting BMX leading up to London. This excerpt is taken from BMX news' Arielle Martin interview...

BMX News sat down with Arielle four days after the World Championships. She was already back in Chula Vista, and moving on to day one of her London-specific training. When we got with her, she had just wrapped on a day of shooting with The US Olympic Committee and YouTube, who have joined forces to create a special YouTube Channel called “Qualified.” The Webisodes will follow 16 London 2012 athletes, and show an anxious audience what life is like behind the scenes as they get ready for the Summer Games.

What is BMXA and CA doing?

The Australian team will not be decided until June 22 I believe.

Although it may seem that certain riders are a definite to go, until that date nothing is official, and as such no media relations with "qualified" riders can be officially published.

Having that said, Caroline & Sam have both had their hands full with the media and this if of course expected to escalate once they have been "officially" be nominated to head to London.

Yeah I think that's about the right date. Only 10 days away.... so let's hope BMXA and Cycling Aust have their act together and don't just rely on riders and their sponsors to get the exposure.

Otherwise well just have to rely on Coca Cola to promote Sam, BMX and Australia.....
