If you could only race one round at Track Attack...
« on: January 13, 2008, 02:36:42 PM »

OK...I am not sure which TA rounds, if any, I am going to race (potential issues with time, fitness, skill, the shrinking of the round things between my legs everytime I get on the gate and any other excuse I can think up between now and next weekend). So, if you could only race one round, which would it be??

Oh, and feel free to leave a reason in this thread. At the moment P.O. is leading, but that's my home track. As challenging as I find it, I should probably try someweher else!

Knox?  I heard that Austar and his mum and the dogs are camping there for Track Attack so I would stay away. I would go for Lilydale if you have not been there yet. There is nothing like standing in the que for a burger when the west wind is blowing on a hot summers day. What is that place just across the road? oh yes the sewerage treatment works isnt it

Reasons for PO are simple, for the majority that work many tracks are out
Frankston because start time is later so for those who have early start and/or travel its a killer, plus many who are doing BSX will find that late start/finish a killer
Knox/Eastfield/South Eastern- races are during the week so if you don't have time off you can't do it.
Lilydale- well the sh!t pit across the rd is reason enough to stay away. Family guy has obviously been there on a warm and windy day before  Undecided

So truth of the matter is that start times and days that races are held are the reason PO is ahead in the votes. Not all bosses are so flexible with time off to race. the usual response you get is 'Didn't that sport go out with the 80s?' or the most popular 'Aren't you too old to be racing BMX?'
Facilities or the actual track have not much say (except for Lilydale and the SP)

I was hoping people's responses would be based mainly on the track they like followed by the facilities and that what day/time it was on would be irrelevant.

hey jaybee lilydale members have to be congratulated on working there track from not the best to a good track, you say lilydale is bad because of the sewerage place across the road but it all comes down to, every track has a setback. your not there to admire the smell i know im not im there to race.

One of our many friends in Victoria was at the last Lilydale open meeting and said it smelt much better than usual. The general consensus being that was because the majority of the 45+ class were at the master's games that weekend  Grin

Hey I never said anything about the track itself. And yes you're correct in saying that the track is of a good standard and that members need to be commended on their efforts. But try going there on a warm day with the breeze going the right way good track or not I'll stear clear thanks. Sometimes the smell just outweighs the track.
I'm not against Lilydale at all, I just prefer it in the cooler months Wink Wink

Well, my hand has been forced. I have to fly out Detroit on Sunday...so no TA for me at all.

I am really suprised that PO has 50% of the vote to date and Eastfield has so little.
