Great stuff... well done.

Also great to see the Doublecross in there as well  ;)

Nerang Nats is usually a great event, also because we tag a bit of a Gold Coast holiday on to it - Xmas and NYE.

Also, most of our Central QLD Zone meets are good as it is good to catch up with plenty of familiar faces.

I run powerblocks and always just go by what is recommended.  Depends on track surface as well though. Love just pumping up as hard as it says for tracks with bitumen corners.  They just hook in...

A very good question. I have no answer, maybe some of the 'pros' can answer that.

Racing / QLD Championships at Sleeman - risk to 'new' riders
« on: September 01, 2014, 02:28:55 PM »
I am all for having our QLD State Championships at the best facility in QLD - Sleeman! (I live in Rockhampton and personally would be happy to have it there every year).

I am also for having our QLD State Championships accessible to all level of rider (i.e no qualification process) as it encourages participation and hopefully raises participation numbers.

HOWEVER I am concerned this year with our State Champs at Sleeman that the new rider who has been going for 6 months at a South QLD club on his/her 'stock' bike decides to enter and may not quite be up to scratch on that track. At what point do we have a duty of care to ensure that the riders we have competing at this facility have the ability to get around the track? So many levels of questions but thought I'd start the discussion. Any thoughts?

General Discussion / Pedals

I have been using my Shimano DX clipless now since 2009 but on the weekend I unclipped twice in racing (on about the second pedal).  They are tighened up to the max.  Should I:
 - get new cleats; or
 - get new cleats and pedals?

If it's new pedals, what pedals are us older blokes using?  Want to stay with SPD, not going TIME...

Thanks,
Brett

I know these are run on weekends, but there has to be some travel time either side... so what about school for the kids?  Not a priority??

Thanks.

From what I have been told...

Men 75% ($3000) / Women 25% ($1000)

Then the men gets divided into AA / A which has a formula applied - usually works out at about AA 78.something% and A 21.something%

Racing / Prize Breakdown
« on: November 06, 2013, 04:11:29 PM »
Just looking at Nerang prize for January.  They say it is $4000 total.  Can anyone tell me what the breakdown would be to include AA, A and Women.  I have looked in the ARA rules and have an idea but not sure.
