No matter how many times you have a go at Beenleigh's last straight there is no quick way to get through it without killing yourself.  I have spent hours trying to figure that last straight out.  I won't be doing the shootout round that Beenleigh has because of it.  All the other tracks in Brisbane are great to race on and have a play on to

Racing / Re: Open Days Trophies Vs Cash
« on: October 16, 2013, 11:56:24 AM »
As a rider I prefer Cash as I have too many trophies all ready that just collect dust.  The only open day that I do like the trophies in is the Bundy Cane Toad Classic as it is just one of the most sort after trophies.  It's a great weekend up there.  If I want trophies I race Title events.  Cooloola's open day suffered because of pre nom and trophies as well as the cut off date was during the State Titles.
Don't get me wrong the Trophies looked awesome but I believe that they should be for Title Events.  Open days should be for money unless your a sprocket.
This is just my opinion each to there own but I wont go to an open event that just has trophies.

Just over 150 riders at Cooloola's open day today.  First 3 motto done and dusted in 2 hours but then a couple of crashes and the pro straight breaking away held up racing.  But good to be done by 6pm.  If it wasn't for the Central Zone Riders the club would have suffered with low numbers.  People looking for a break and or couldn't afford to nom the week of the state titles.  Would have been interesting to see how many they could have got with nom on the day.
Congratulations to Dirk Winter who took out the Pro Men and Chelsea King once again showing her dominance in the Pro Ladies to claim another win under her belt.

Well done to the Club on running a great open meet though, a lot of effort went in to getting it all done.

Club / King of the Coast
« on: October 12, 2013, 09:36:32 AM »
Last night kicked off the 1st round of the King of the Coast Series between Ashmore and Nerang.  A very successful night with 127 riders taking to Nerang's track.  The racing in the age groups was just as fierce as if it was an open day.  Well done to both Clubs for taking the intuitive to put together a series like this between the 2 Clubs.  Looking forward to next weeks battle at the Ashmore track.  If you're in the area get a part of it.  You can join up as a social member of either club as well so you can share in the rewards.  Building the rivalry in a good way between the two clubs!
More clubs should be doing Series like this as and it's very possible to do this here in Southern Zone!

It never left.  Clubs just chose not to run it here in South East Queensland.  Good to see Pine Rivers giving it a go again looking forward to the action especially with the clubs new start hill and gate.  And a nom on day transponder event too.  More clubs need to go in this direction.
Once again Pine Rivers leads the way here in South Queensland

The only events that need to be pre nom are title events.  Normal open days really there is no need.  Pine Rivers have proved that you can run a successful open with nom on the day with transponders.  I believe the issue with Cooloola being prenom is that they are doing trophies and medallions.  Do we really need more trophy events?
