29/01 Track Attack report round 5
The Lilydale BMX Club hosted the 5th round of the Track Attack
on Saturday. Lilydale is another long, fast track which needs an upgrade,
you can race the track without having to jump a thing, something which
wouldn't encourage the interstate riders to visit again.
For the pro riders it was the final chance to contribute to their overall
points for the week. It was a combination of overall money and the way
the corners were built at Lilydale that created many carnage filled races,
especially in the A Pro field.
In A Pro there were a couple of surprises. Riders who had been regulars
in the finals Dean Miller (GT Aus), James Dixon and Joseph Bujak all crashed
out of their semis. In the final it was Matthew White leading all the
way with Simon Grigg (ProConcept/TotalBMX) in second and the rest of the
field following closely. As they approached the last corner the mid fielders
all bunched up and looked for a gap, but it seemed that they all wanted
to same line through the corner. The 30+ riders Trevor Stamford (BMXBits.com.au)
and Shane Jenkins (BMXUltra.com) ended up going down and getting tangled
up with Bradley Kohler.
The Vet Pro "Bruiser" Cruiser class looked like it would be
taken out by David Comport again, the track suiting him well, but he got
caught up with Craig Walczuk (Redline/TotalBMX) and Glenn Suridge. Scott
Tabe-Lewis went on to take the win with Brian Kelly (S&M/ECI) in second
and Gary Morgan in third.
AA Women was the Melissa Mankowski (Standard) and Emma Franklin (O'Neal)
show again, but Mankowski was just too strong out of the gate for Franklin.
The AA Men's class was pretty tight. BMXUltra.com's Jonathan Hoare crashed
and hurt himself again, putting himself out of the running for the final.
When the gate dropped in the final Kamakazi jumped to the early lead with
Luke Madill (GT Aus) and Mike Fenwick (Specialized) close behind. But
down the second last straight Kamakazi seemed to run out of steam and
Madill pulled him in again to take the win.

27/01 BMXPros.com Race Report: ABA Sooner Nationals,
Guthrie, OK
Race 2 of the ABA 2004 Pro series was held this past weekend in the Lazy
E Arena, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. With the season just kicking off, it is
always interesting to see who is on form early in the season, and it seems
that the BMXPros.com guys were prepared once again. With the Sooner fans
yelling for the favorite guys throughout the weekend, the BMXPros.com
guys had a great weekend. Here is how they finished up.
Kyle Bennett continued his winning ways from Reno in
Guthrie, as on Saturday he once again took the top honors in the AA Pro
class. This time with a visor and his new Answer gear, Kyle looked as
smooth as his riding style. On Sunday, Kyle just missed winning AA again,
taking home a 2nd place. Kyle's sponsors include Free Agent, KHS, Answer,
Sun Ringle, UGP, Truvativ, Profile, Powerbar, BMXpros.com.
Randy Stumpfhauser looked comfortable on his GT Ultra
Box, as he raced it to a podium spot in AA on Saturday, taking 3rd overall.
In the Cruiser Class, the 2003 ABA #1 Pro took home another win. On Sunday,
it was business as usual for the UCI Cruiser world Champ in the cruiser
class, as he once again won. In AA, Stumpy placed 7th and put his GT in
all 4 pro mains. Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Hyundai, IRC Tires,
Shimano, Fox Racing, Sun Ringle, AC, Thomson Seat Posts, Powerbar, CTI,
BMXpros.com, and Smith Eyewear.
Cristian Becerine was one of the fastest pro at the ABA
opener in Reno and he continued his fast pace racing in Guthrie. A crash
in the AA Motos early on Saturday kept him out of the main, and then a
crash in the Pro Open main kept him to back 7th. On Sunday, Cristian was
looking for a win in the Pro Open main, but was just held back to a 3rd.
Look for "Fez" to be back on the podium come his next race.
Cristian's sponsors include Crupi, O'Neal, Answer, UGP, Sun Ringle, Powerbar,
BMXpros.com, and Thomson Seat Posts.
Brandon Meadows flew out to Guthrie after a week of riding
at Woodward West and was looking for bigger jumps that what Guthrie had
to offer. Brandon just missed out of making the main events on Saturday.
Sunday wasn't much better for the 2003 X-Games Gold Medalist, but he will
be back aboard his Gold Specialized S-Works bike. Brandon did get to meet
a bunch of his fans and show off is new bike. Brandon's sponsors include
Specialized, Tangent, Sun Ringle, Powerbar, No Fear, and BMXpros.com.
BMXPros.com proudly represents Cristian Becerine, Kyle Bennett, Wade Bootes,
Dale Holmes, Christophe Leveque, Brandon Meadows, John Parker, Jamie Staff,
and Randy Stumpfhauser. For more info on any of the riders listed, please

27/01 GT Bicycles Australia press release: Track
Attack
Melbourne, Australia - It’s been a huge weekend for Team
GT, with the newest team member for 2004 Luke Madill
(Dr Smooth) showing everyone why he’s GT number 1 rider. He took
out 3 wins out of 5 AA Pro mains, then went on to win round 3 of the Elite
men’s UCI BMX series.
Dean Miller was also in fine form winning 3 out of 5 A Pro mains and finishing 8th in the Jnr Elite men’s UCI BMX series.
Sunday night after all the racing had finished, the riders had a chance to let their hair down at the BMXPress GOLD CUP AWARDS with Team of the year going to GT Australia.
We would like to give all of our team members a big THANK YOU and keep up the good work.
Team GT Australia would also like to thank the following co-sponsors for their continued support in 2004: Troy Lee Designs, Bombshell Forks, Profile Racing, ODI Lock-On grips, Dirt 100% Race, Tuff Neck, ACS Claws.
26/01 BMXPress Gold Cup Awards
The BMXPress Gold Cup awards were on last night at the Barleycorn
Hotel in the inner Melbourne suburb of Collingwood. There was quite a
crowd there supporting the event and to find out who would win the gold
cups. There were a number of surprises, the biggest one being that for
the first time since the awards began Luke Madill went home empty handed.
Female pro rider of the year: Melissa Mankowski (Standard)
Male pro rider of the year: Michael Robinson
Rookie pro rider of the year: Michael Fenwick (Specialized/Fox)
Riders rider: Michael Fenwick (Specialized/Fox)
Bike of the year: Norco
Team of the year: GT Australia

23/01 Track Attack round 4
Victoria, Australia - The Track Attack series continued
last night with round 4 at Eastfield. It was a nice evening for a race
meeting with just a little bit of wind. The Eastfield track hasn't changed
much in the last two years, it's still very much a pedalers track, the
jumps quite flat and many were saying it was dull.
35 riders again in A Pro, and in the final Dean Miller (GT Aus) was on
the wrong side of Trevor "The Blackpool Bullet" Stamford (BMXBits.com.au)
out of the gate, he got shut out. Trevor took the early lead but his 35+
Year old legs couldn't match it with the younger riders, Matthew White
moved up into the top spot by the first corner. James Dixon moved up into
second by the third straight, which is how they finished when the got
to the line, Stamford hanging on to third with a wall of riders close
behind. BMXUltra.com's Shane Jenkins made it to the semi but failed to
transfer.
The vet pro "bruiser" cruiser was looking a lot like David Comport
(BMXBits.com.au) could take it out again, going neck and neck down the
first straight with Brian Kelly (S&M/ECI). But Kelly was smoother
over the jumps and got the edge on Comport. Craig Walczuk (Redline/TotalBMX)
finished third.
AA Pro women, again the racing was extremely close between Melissa Mankowski
(Standard) and Emma Franklin (O'Neal), but Mankowski managed to notch
up another win.
In the AA Men Kamakazi started the day in his Vegas style Elvis jump suit,
but when the gate dropped in the final everything was serious again. Kamakazi
(Elvis) jumped to the eary lead, pulling a good bike length down the first
straight. Luke Madill (GT Aus) and Mike Fenwick (Sepcialized/Fox) were
side by side fighting for second with Scott Taylor (Avent/ECI) and Jonathan
Hoare (BMXUltra.com) and the rest of the field close behind. Madill managed
to work his way into second, and looked like he was going to try to pull
Kamakazi in, but he'd let him get too far ahead. That's how the top 5
finished; Kamakazi, Madill, Fenwick, Taylor and Hoare.

22/01 Metro Plate goes Old School
Victoria, Australia - Melbourne's Metro Plate series goes Old
School this year when round 2 of the Metro Plate will be held at Western
Park, Warrigul. Which is about an hour drive South East of Melbourne on
Princes Highway.
We are talking a 6 lane gate, manual call and no supercross jumps! That's
right a flat starting hill, flat jumps and flat corners, flat out old
school style. In the pro class, at a regional event held there last year
two old school riders, Danny Galea (BMXBits.com.au) and Shane Jenkins
(BMXUltra.com), came in first and second. The race will be held on Sunday
February 22nd. Mark this one in your calendar.
Photos of the track are available at www.bmxstars.com.
More information about this race as it comes to hand.
22/01 Gold Cup party update
Victoria, Australia - The BMXPress Gold Cup is on at the Barley
Corn Hotel, 177 Johnstone Street (Not 17 as previously advertised.), Collingwood
this Sunday.
Anyone there prior to 8pm will get in for $3 instead of $5.
The BMXPress guys suggest to be there by 7.30pm for a 8pm start and they
"Look forward to seeing everyone there."
The Deadthings, headed up by BMXer Julian Millis, are one of the bands
playing there on the night.
21/01 Track Attack round 3
Again the weather threatened to wash the Knox round of Track
Attack out, but the storm clouds soon blew over. The track has changed
a little, riders seemed to have fun on the new doubles into the second
corner, it also looked like it opened up a few extra lines in the corner
making the racing more exciting to watch.
In the A Pro men it was all Dean Miller again, it wont be long before
he's back into the AA class. Another reclassified AA Pro Simon Grigg was
riding well in the first two rounds but crashed out on Tuesday night.
Matthew White settled for second.
The vet pro "bruiser" cruiser again worked out to be the one
final to watch, the big guns from the last couple of rounds Brian Kelly
and Scott Tabe-Lewis went down hard at the bottom of the starting hill.
David Comport, who actually went with the gate for the first time in the
series, lead from the gate to the line his third straight win for the
series. Glenn Suridge was all over him until the second corner where he
was taken up high. It was Damien Callan who took second, Suridge finished
third.
AA Pro women is still the Melissa Mankowski and Emma Franklin show, Mankowski
took the overall win but Franklin is getting very close to a round win
herself, beating Mankowski in the last round.
AA Pro men was again a strong final, Scott Taylor missed out after a fall
in the motos. When the gate dropped Kamakazi, Madill, Fenwick, Hoare and
Galea all came out fairly even, Galea dropped back when he opted to roll
the big doubles at the end of the straight when everyone else launched
them. The riders started to form a single file through the first corner.
Kama leading, from Madill, then Fenwick with Hoare buzzing his back tyre.
That was pretty much the order that they would stay until the last straight
where Madill was reeling Kama in, but when Kama found some level ground
he shut Madill down. Madill had to settle for second after his scenic
tour of Knox's grassy fields.

20/01 Track Attack, the story so far
Frankston (Round 1)
We missed all the action from Frankston but the story of the day was in
AA Pro how BMXUltra.com's newest team member, Jonathan Hoare, took on
some of Australia's best including the likes of Madill, Fenwick, Kamakazi,
Scott and Mark Taylor. But when it came to the final he collided with
another rider over the big doubles in the first straight and had to settle
for 7th. Madill took the win.
South Eastern (Round 2)
The interstate riders were treated to a fine display of Melbourne's
weather when some heavy rain rolled in early over the South Eastern track,
it later cleared to a sunny day, but not before everyone was caked with
mud.
The pro racing was tight, 35 in A pro, which meant semis and heaps of
crashes. Trevor "The Blackpool Bullet" Stamford (BMXBits.com.au)
looked the goods in his semi, but washed out just before the last corner
while he was leading. Talking about old timers, the other 30+ rider in
A Pro was BMXUltra.com's own Shane Jenkins, he made it through the semi
and finished 8th in a tough main. Dean Miller (GT Aus) took the win from
the outside lane.
AA Pro was crazy, throw Kamakazi in the mix and you expect anything less?
BMXUltra.com's Jonathan Hoare was on his home track and all eyes were
on him until he fell hard in the second moto, putting him out of the running
for the day. The highlight for the AA class was the lead Kama got until
he hit the last straight and Madill seemed to dig deep and just out sprinted
Kama to the line, Scott Taylor and Mike Fenwick were close behind for
third and fourth.
AA Women was the Melissa Mankowski and Emma Franklin show. Mankowski's
first straight was too good for Franklin but Franklin kept coming home
like a steam train and missed out on the overall win by only a matter
of feet.
Photos are available at www.bmxstars.com.
19/01 Track Attack results round 1
& 2
GT's riders are dominating the Track Attack series in Melbourne
so far. Dean Miller has won the first two rounds in the A Pro and Luke
Madill in the AA Pro. Standard's Melissa Mankowski has won both rounds
in the AA womens class and BMXBits.com.au's David Comport has won both
days on Vet Pro (Bruiser) Cruiser. More about that to come.
For now we have the full results for rounds 1 and 2.

19/01 FACTORY AVENT / BOMBSHELL MAKES
STELLAR DEBUT!
Reno, Nevada - One thing you can expect at the ABA's season opener
is the debut of new teams. Most fall flat on their face and don't live
up to the hype surrounding them. In some instances, however, a team will
come together and beat all the odds to become a major player. Such is
the case with Avent and Bombshell's first ever Factory Team.
On
Friday and Saturday, the "Bomb Squad" rode practice in Fly 805
jerseys, pants and gloves with 606 helmets and debuted the team's full
Factory uniforms in fine style for the first round. With every rider on
the team being in the NAG top ten, with five NAG #1's, three "Terrible
Ten" recipients, four ABA World Champions, and one National #1, everyone
was expecting big things from this group. They came through. Scoring twelve
wins helped to propel the new team to a 3rd place in Factory Team competition
on Saturday and a hard-earned second place on Sunday. On Sunday, the Bomb
Squad finished only two points behind defending ABA Factory Team Champion
and Bombshell-sponsored Redman / Yamaha Waverunner, beating the likes
of legitimate Factory teams such as Answer and Challenge. The team currently
sits in third place in ABA standings.
PROS
Factory Avent / Bombshell / Fly Racing's "dR" Donny
Robinson had a tough season debut; full of ups and downs. After
picking up his National #2 plate in Pro Cruiser, Donny picked up right
where he left off at the Grands and came away with a win on Saturday on
his Avent 'Factor' Pro Cruiser, beating longtime friend and rival Randy
Stumpfhauser. The squad's newest pick-up, "T-Biz" Tyler
Brown was in the mix, finishing 6th. On Sunday, Donny picked
up the 3rd with Tyler in tow on his Bombshell 'Tribal Carbon forks' for
the 5th. In AA Pro, both National #6 "dR" and Tyler barely missed
the cut on Saturday. Sunday Donny powered to a 4th place finish.
The team's legendary Vet-Pro, National #6 "Choo Choo"
Charles Townsend broke his hand training the week before the
race and was not able to attend. "I'm gonna be ready for Phoenix,"
stated Townsend, "all those guys better watch out!"
AMATEURS
She's at it again! The fastest girl in BMX, Alise "The Beast"
Post, after picking up her National #1 Girl Cruiser plaque and
her National #2 Girl plaque, absolutely KILLED her competition over the
weekend and scored the ABA's very first triple-triple of the year. The
squad put together a brand new Avent 'Factor' Expert XL with Bombshell
'Love Handles' bars on Friday morning and watched "The Beast"
dominate 12 Girls, 11-13 Girls Cruiser, and 11-12 Mixed Open. Alise is
on a mission to double up on the Girls and Girls Cruiser titles in 2004!
Twitch makes his mark! The pride of McHenry, Illinois, Mike "Twitch"
Lundy picked up his NAG #1 cruiser plate and came away with two
wins in the new 17-18 Expert class edging out longtime rival and teammate
Jason Rogers on his brand-new Avent 'Factor' Pro XXXL.
"I got it this weekend, but I know Jason is a fierce competitor and
there's never a gimme in this class," stated Lundy. Jason grabbed
his 18X NAG#1 plate and finished up with a close second on Saturday and
an un-characteristic third on Sunday. With the likes of Andre Ellison,
Steven Cisar, and Zach Bean in the class, the success of these two riders
is unparalleled.
The "Missle" launches into the new year! 2003 ABA NAG #1 16X
Mike Moeller had a tough weekend. After looking like
the one to beat in practice on his polished Avent 'Factor' Pro XL with
a Bombshell 'Revolution' Cassette Wheelset, someone must have painted
a target on Mikey's back. In every round it seemed like someone was gunning
to take him out. On Saturday, "The Missle" just missed the 16X
main and had to settle for a 3rd in 15-16 open. On Sunday, after getting
beat up pretty good in semi's, Mikey finished 5th in open and battled
to a 2nd in 16X. Look for the "Missle" to be on a new Avent
'Morpheus' Pro Cruiser in Guthrie!
Bradford kills on Carbon! 2003 UCI Class and Cruiser World Champion Joey
Bradford let it be known that Carbon Fiber is the way to go.
Joey hopped aboard his carbon fiber Avent 'Morpheus' Pro with Bombshell
'Tribal' Carbon forks and the brand-new Bombshell 'Revolution' 1.5 wheelset
and proved to the nay-sayers out there that there is a place for Carbon
in BMX frame technology. Joey powered the controversial frame to a 3rd
and a 2nd in 13-14 open and a 4th and a 3rd in the ultra-tough 14X class.
"The Tiger" mauls the competition! NAG #4 Chad "The
Tiger" Kerley continued his rise through the 9X class finishing
1st and 4th in 9-10 open 3rd and 2nd in 9X on the new Avent 'Factor' Junior
frame with a Bombshell 'Revolution' Expert wheelset.
Avent / Bombshell's "Old Guys" wreck the house! The older amateurs
on the team made their presence known in Reno in a big way. NAG#6
TJ Johnson ruled 28-35 Expert both days, with a 1st on Saturday
and slipping to 2nd on Sunday after a bobble in the rhythm. TJ was aboard
a prototype Avent Chromoly Racer. That's right, Avent is working on a
steel line-up for all you chromoly fans out there! NAG#10 "Angry"
Steve Stewart came back to action after a knee injury sidelined
him at last year's Worlds. Stewart dominated motos and battled with Kirk
Chrisco and Steve Spencer on his Avent 'Factor' Pro Cruiser XL with Bombshell
'Revolution' Pro Cruiser Cassette Wheels to take third on Saturday. A
crash in the main kept him off the podium on Sunday.
"Bomb Squad" amateurs round out the mix. 2002 and 2003 Open
and Class World Champion Jacob Abbe, 7X, picked up his
NAG #4 plate this weekend. Jacob had a tough start to the year on his
Avent 'Factor' Mini, finishing 5th in class on Sunday. 2003 World Champion
Lahsaan Kobza, 12X, raked in a 2nd and a 3rd in 12 Cruiser on
his Avent 'Factor' Expert Cruiser. In class, Lahsaan and his Avent 'Morpheus'
Expert didn't fare as well with just a main event finish on Sunday. After
giving it all he had with his two new NAG #4 plates, it's about time for
Lahsaan to hang up the Avent Expert in favor of a new Avent Expert XL.
The worst luck of all belonged to Dustin Vogler. After
battling the flu all week long, the NBL National #1 13X picked up his
new NAG #4 and NAG #5 plates, finished 2nd in cruiser and 4th in class
on Saturday. On Sunday in semis, Dusty and his Avent 'Factor' Pro took
a hard spill in the first corner and broke his thumb, setting him back
for 4 weeks.
Look for the entire Factory Avent / Bombshell team at the second stop
on the ABA tour, the ABA Sooner Nationals in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

19/01 Western Australia Update
By Matt Butterworth (30-34 Cruiser)
Firstly, I would like to announce to the BMX world that on 15/1/04, my
wife gave birth to our first child – Zac. Yes a Sprocket Rocket
is born!! Born 7lb 4oz, he is awesome and Mandy (wife) is doing great.
Soon as he is off breast feeding, its gate practice for him!!
I anticipate continuing racing with the first round of our state series kicking off on the 31/1/04. Several tracks (including Wanneroo and Kelmscott) have done track changes over Christmas and from all reports, they look wicked. For the first time this year, Bruiser Cruisers have been added to the race schedule with $200 up for grabs each round for the 30+ cruiser riders. This should make things very interesting with Derek Price (5W 30-34), Tony Hancox (7W 35-39) and myself (8A, 8PO 30-34), all going for the cash. It’s great that the clubs have finally come to the party and joined the eastern states with this concept. (We did lobby quite long and hard for the class).
16/01 Khalen Young on One Bicycles
Khalen Young has just been picked up by DP1 Australia/One Bicycles
for 2004. Khalen is the wonderboy of Australian BMX at the moment since
his remarkable ride at the World Championships back in July that just
nearly saw him in the elite mens main, and a big start to his 2004 UCI
campaign with a big win, in a star studded field, under his belt.
If Khalen is able to keep things going at this pace we might just see
him going for gold at the 2008 Olympics.
DP1 Aust. are the distributor of One Bicycles in Australia.
15/01 BMXUltra.com signs Jonathan Hoare
After racing for only 3 years Jonathan Hoare was one of Australia's fastest
rookie AA pros for the 2003 season.
He started the year as an A pro at Melbourne's "Track Attack"
series, held late in January. After winning 4 of the 6 events, over the
10 days of racing, he graduated to the AA pro class.
Jonathan had mixed results in the junior elite class at the Australian
and world championships, but learned from his experiences and bounced
back for some great results at the prestigious Cash Dash and the televised
DK Spring Nationals. He also took out the Junior Elite win in a tough
class at the Victorian State Championships.
Jon Jon, as he's known to his friends, is one of the most skillful and
approachable young riders on the Australian pro circuit today.
We are proud to have him join us for the 2004 season.
The BMXUltra.com team is sponsored by Answer, BMXBits.com.au, Pazzaz,
Dirt Designs, Tektro brakes, ATi and Troy Lee Designs.

13/01 BMXBits.com.au sign Galea and Stamford
BMXBits.com.au, the Melbourne based mail order BMX shop, have signed AA
Pro Danny Galea and Veteran A Pro Trevor "The Blackpool Bullet"
Stamford for 2004.
Both riders had a big year in 2003, they were both finalists in the Pro
class at the Victorian State championships. While Danny had to sit out
of the Australian championships with a broken collarbone after a heavy
fall in practice, Trevor went on to become national champion in the 35-39
Cruiser class. At the UCI world championships in Perth Danny finished
6th in the 17& Over class, Trevor finished 3rd in the 35-39 Cruiser
class. With those kind of results expect to hear a lot about these two
throughout 2004.

13/01 BMXPros.com Race Report
ABA Silver Dollar Nationals Reno, Nevada January 10 &11
BMXPros.com riders rule Reno!
The ABA 2004 Pro season kicked off this past weekend with the Silver Dollar
Nationals, held in the Reno Events center. With a new season upon us,
and a lot of sponsorship changes, a lot of riders were ready to go out
and show off their new colors and sponsors, as well as that they are ready
for the 2004 season. It seemed like the riders best prepared for the new
season were the Double A Marketing riders, as they were the fastest Pros
in Reno, taking home 4 of the 6 Pro wins for the weekend. Here is how
the Double A Marketing riders finished up for the weekend-
Dale Holmes rode the Reno track with unbelievable speed
this weekend, as he was one of the fastest riders out on the track. On
Saturday, it was all Dale's day in AA, as he won the first AA Pro race
of the 2004 season. This was especially sweet for Dale, as 10 years ago
at the ABA opener in Reno, Dale won the AA Pro class. Shows how the "older"
Pros has what it takes to still keep on winning! On Sunday, Dale was once
again in the AA Pro main, this time placing 5th, but still amazed the
crowd with a 2nd place in Pro Open. Looks like another great season for
Dale. Dale's sponsors include Free Agent, KHS, O'Neal, Azonic, Bombshell,
Kenda, Smith Eyewear, Sun Ringle, Profile, Powerbar, BMXpros.com, Daleholmes.com,
Kyle Bennett debut his new Free Agent colors on Saturday
and took his Free Agent Limo into the AA Pro main. A crash held him back
to 7th for the day, but didn't keep him down long. On Sunday, after being
energized by his team mates AA win on Saturday, Kyle took top honors in
AA on Sunday, bring home Free Agent a lock on the AA Class this weekend.
It looks like it didn't take any time for Kyle to take his new bike to
the top spot of the ABA podium. Kyle's sponsors include Free Agent, KHS,
Answer, Sun Ringle, UGP, Truvativ, Profile, Powerbar, BMXpros.com
Randy Stumpfhauser also showed up in his new uniform,
for the Hyundai/GT team and took home a win for himself. On Saturday,
Stumpy was in both the AA Pro main, where he placed 4th and a 2nd in the
Pro Cruiser class. Sunday was a different story, as Stumpy took home a
huge win the Pro Cruiser class, his first for his new sponsor. Stumpy
says this he is slow this time of the year, but if that is true, all other
pros better look out for him after the next few races. Randy's sponsors
include GT Bicycles, Hyundai, IRC, Shimano, Fox Racing, Sun Ringle, AC,
Thomson Seat Posts, Powerbar, BMXpros.com, Smith Eyewear
Cristian Becerine has made Crupi proud this past weekend
with a great weekend of racing. On Saturday, Cristian was in both the
AA Pro and the Pro open main events. Looking super fast and smooth, Cristian
finished up 3rd in the tough AA class and 8th in Pro Open. Sunday, he
waned more and got just that, as he holeshotted the Pro Open main event
and took his Crupi XL Bike to the winners circle. Cristian's sponsors
include Crupi, O'Neal, Answer, UGP, Sun Ringle, Powerbar, BMXpros.com,
Thomson Seat Posts
Brandon Meadows told us that he hasn't had a lot of time
on his race bike, as the weather up in Sacramento has been so bad with
rain, but to watch him aboard his Specialized S-Works bike, you'd never
know it. On Sunday, Brandon was in the AA Pro main, but a crash held him
back to 7th for the day. Brandon looks forward to dryer weather and a
chance to once again race in the main event in 2 weeks, in Guthrie, Oklahoma,
at the ABA sooner Nationals. Brandon's sponsors include Specialized, Tangent,
Sun Ringle, Powerbar, No Fear, BMXpros.com
BMXPros.com proudly represents Cristian Becerine, Kyle Bennett, Wade Bootes,
Dale Holmes, Christophe Leveque, Brandon Meadows, John Parker, Jamie Staff,
and Randy Stumpfhauser. For more information on any of the riders, or
on Double A Marketing, please e-mail Pete Dylewski @ PeteD@BMXpros.com,
or visit www.BMXpros.com
12/01 Victorian BMX news
Track Attack is on starting this coming weekend. 6 days of racing
held over 10 days around Melbourne's eastern suburbs (Frankston, Oakleigh
(South Eastern), Knox, Eastfield, Lilydale and Park Orchards), be sure
to get your entries in on time. If you haven't found one yet click
here to download it.
Park Orchards track has changed a little, there's now a huge
triple at the end of their second straight, this will be a nice challenge
for the riders chasing UCI points. A pros Ben Carlos
and Trevor "The Blackpool Bullet" Stamford
have jumped them already.
Knox track also has a new jump, they will be holding gate practice
on Thursday 15th Jan from 6pm.
Rumour is that Lalor BMX track, aka Northen Park, will
be running gates on Wednesday, they usually start from 5:30 pm.
Adam Robb (Redline/TotalBMX) has reclassified to A pro,
which takes effect from February 1.
Simon Anderson (GT Aus) was seen riding at Trafalgar
4X track at an open day yesterday on his BMX bike, and jumping
the road crossings. Even without suspension he was one of the smoothest
riders there. Also in attendance were Danny Galea (who
was looking very confident), Dean Miller (GT Aus) out
on a mountain bike for the first time and jumping the road crossings,
and Shannon Rademaker (Cyclelink.com.au/BMXUltra.com)
who has just returned from a shoulder injury that has kept him off his
bike for 6 weeks, he was also jumping the road crossings with ease.
Quite a few riders have been changing bikes, Avent seem
to be the flavour of the month in Victoria. As well as Pro state champion
Tony Harvey making the move, Charles Nelson,
David Comport and Trevor Stamford are
also on board new Avent frames. Danny Galea is on a DK
MP3.
After talking about it for a long time Tasmanian A Pro rider, Josh
Issac (BMXMania.com), has finally moved to Victoria to get some
serious competition.
An outstanding Victorian AA Pro has signed with BMXUltra.com for 2004
(if you're trying to guess it's not Danny Galea), all will be revealed
soon.

Racegirl BMX team debuts their Racegirl Jerseys at the Christmas Classic
in St.Cloud, FL. There were over 200 motos and 8 Racegirl team members.
There were over 11 hundred riders on Saturday including many international
riders. One of these international riders was our very own Karine Chambonneau
from France, she won every moto, and took a third in the main. Great way
to start her season out in the USA. Joining Karine tomorrow, Rachel "Thunder"
Smith will be coming back after surgery for her very first race since
the NBL Grands. Shhh, don't tell her dad!
14-17 Girl Cruisers consisted of 14 riders, making the biggest class other
than Elite Women. Congratulations to all the Racegirl Ambassadors who
dominated their motos this weekend. 14 year old Amanda Geving double perfected
in class and in cruiser where she was one of the youngest. Katie Shedivy
takes first in 15 Girl and Kelly Hutto takes the second.
The Racegirl BMX Team had a made a pretty good show on Saturday. All of
the girls who showed up made it to their mains. Team member Kelsey Love
from 11 Girls, finished 6th in a hard main. 10 year old Cheyenne Kauffman
also placed 6th for the day. Cheyenne Grant in 8 Girls got a close 2nd,
just shadowing the winner.
Numerous "other" people showed up, such as One Bicycles' Elite
Amanda Persia. She's out for a while with a broken tailbone. Good luck
with your surgery Amanda! Vintage racer/announcer Marie McGilvary showed
up to give a few pointers and check out what was going on. There's rumors
going about that she's going to get on her bike tomorrow along with Rachel.
Speaking of announcers, it is great to hear Linda voice back in action,
giving Dave Cecil a break from the job. Racegirl takes advantage of his
free time by collaborating a new partnership between ProGate and Racegirl
Team members. Look for future details on our website, www.racegirlbmx.com.
