ABA press release
The American Bicycle Association and ABA National Series Sponsor Fire Magic Premium Grills are excited to announce the 2008 Fire Magic Grill-off Series heating up a national race event near you. Competition is open to all individuals, groups and teams in attendance and will take place on Day One (Saturdays) at nine (9) designated outdoor national race events throughout the season. To enter, participants are required to prepare on-site, and with their own equipment, an outdoor grill recipe of their choice and submit a prepared sample with written recipe and recipe name before the end of that day’s second qualifying round. Entries will be judged based upon taste, presentation and originality of name, with the day’s top five (5) finalists being entered into a random drawing to win one of the most innovative, finest outdoor grills on the market today—the all-new Fire Magic Aurora A530s (A530s-1E1N-62 / stand-alone model) or A530i (A530i-1E1N / built-in model) worth a retail value of $4,573.00 and $2,844.00 respectively. With a list of incredible features, including industry-best cast stainless steel burners that are guaranteed for life, the A530s—like every Fire Magic Grill—burns hotter and cooks better than any grill you have every owned—unless, of course, it’s been a Fire Magic.
There is no cost to enter and participants can enter as many unique recipes, in as many of the Grill-off competitions as they choose. ABA and Fire Magic reserve the right to select the judge(s) and all recipes will be anonymously submitted to the judge(s) for top five (5) selection and inclusion in a random drawing for that day’s award, with a Fire Magic grill being awarded prior to the start of that day’s main event. Entrants must be present to win and can choose from either the stand-alone or built-in models—which will be available for pick-up from a Fire Magic dealer in your area sometime before December 31, 2008. Sales tax on all awards will be the responsibility of the winners.
Likewise, every non-winning recipe entered throughout the course of the Fire Magic Grill-off Series will automatically be entered into a random drawing at the Friday Night Spectacular at the Grand Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with the winner taking home a Fire Magic A530s or A530i. Previous grill winners will not be eligible for this drawing. So fire up your grills because the more you enter, the more chances you have to win!

3/28 – Super Nationals - Desoto, TX
4/26 – East Coast National - Spartanburg, SC

ABA press release
Monterey, California – BMX Racing is a dangerous sport. As with the majority of professional sports, the money earned is all-too-often not enough to make ends meet, let alone pay for something as expensive as medical bills. Professional BMX racer Joey Bradford has seen far too many fellow riders and industry professionals become engulfed in insurmountable medical bills stemming from injury or illness. For this reason, in early 2007, the then 17-year old racer took it upon himself to do something about it. With help from his family and key industry veterans, Bradford conceptualized and developed the Joey Bradford Disability Fund.
What It Is
The Foundation, a federally recognized and regulated non-profit organization, aims to ease the burden of medical bills, either by injury or illness, for BMX professionals as well as BMX industry professionals, those whose primary income comes from the BMX industry itself. “Getting injured is the worst thing that can happen to a professional athlete,” states Professional BMX racer Brandon Meadows. “When I broke my femur for the second time, things seem to go downhill real fast. I just started a family, lost my sponsor, broke my leg, no way to make any money, and it soon came to a realization that it was going to be hard to make ends meet.”
Applicants must apply themselves or via a family member and their case will be reviewed by the five person Fund Committee. If the application is approved, up to 50% of the fund can be released to help with monetary medical obligations. The five person Fund committee members are as follows- Jerry Bradford, Joey Bradford, Anthony Derosa, Pete Dylewski, and Shannon Gillette.
How To Get Involved
At this time, donations to the fund are welcome and invited. In the past, donations have usually been accepted after a rider is injured or takes ill. With this fund, donations can be made any time, at the donor’s convenience, plus all donations are tax deductible. Plus, donors will have the ability to donate to a specific injured or ill athlete or industry professional directly on the Fund site.

We have started to put the bsx2008 footage together. It will go through some polishing for the DVD, but this video of the finals should give you a basic idea of how it will look.
The finals video runs for 4 mins 30 secs and includes one of the exhibition races that Sarah Walker and Tanya Bailey put on, there's also the A and B finals for the pro open and 30 & Over open wheel class. At the end of it all is an interview with pro open finalists Billy Joliffe and Josh Callan.
Includes a music track by The Deadthings. It's a cover version of Real Life's "Send Me an Angel" which you may remember from the 80's or the Rad soundtrack.
They are large files, sorry for those of you on dial up, but the low bandwidth version is worth the wait.

If you saw the “Rob & Big” show on MTV last night, then you were sure to see the huge PK Ripper Looptails that we made for Rob & Big & their crew. Were you wondering just how BIG those bikes were? These were gigantic PK Rippers built up with 29” wheels. That’s right; we made some custom 29” wheeled PK Ripper Looptails! These are the first 29” BMX bikes to have ever been made. And the guys rode the heck out of them!
The segment that was filmed at the BMX track didn’t make it past the cutting room floor. But they did show the guys riding around in the front of Rob’s house. Take note that we didn’t just make one bike; we made four bikes for all of the guys on the show. And after the filming, we left the bikes there in Rob’s garage. So if you live anywhere near Los Angeles, be on the lookout for Rob & Big & the guys cruisin’ around Hollywood Blvd. on their very own 29” PK Ripper Looptails.

SANFORD, Fla – Underground Products (UGP) is pleased to announce it has inked a sponsorship deal with the National Bicycle League (NBL) for the 2008 National Series season. The two have joined forces for this lucrative Olympic year where BMX racing will come center stage during the sport’s inaugural appearance at the 2008 Beijing Games in August.
“UGP has deep roots in BMX racing and a long history with the NBL,” says Kevin O’Brien. “Their product line fits perfectly with NBL riders and we expect them to fully embrace UGP once again.”
As an official co-sponsor of the NBL, UGP will receive extensive promotion at the NBL National Series events including signage, programs, a display booth and apparel. As the official apparel sponsor of the Series, UGP will exclusively provide clothing for the NBL staff and volunteers. UGP will also provide the National Series number plates.
“The partnership with the NBL is in-line with UGP’s mission to aggressively elevate the brand’s presence nationally among core BMX racing and freestyle enthusiasts and drive sales,” says Wann Chong, UGP Managing Director. “With a renewed vigor, the brand is taking its message to the masses in 2008 with the addition of several key sponsorships, a major marketing initiative and key new retail outlets.”
UGP’s sponsorship kicked off at the Coyote National, a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) qualifying event, in Arizona, Jan. 25-27, where UGP team rider Kyle Bennett took home top honors. Bennett is currently leading the USA UCI points race and stands a solid chance at being the first pick for the 2008 Olympic Games.
The NBL Series includes 18 more races across the nation including the Gator National, another UCI qualifier, next month in West Palm Beach, Fla., which will play a major deciding role in the three U.S. riders who will represent the United States in Beijing. bmxultra.com press release
It's been a little since the last bmxultra.com team update, but the team is still going strong.
Shane Jenkins took to the first round of the Track Attack series at Park Orchards and struggled with the random gate, only managing a 6th in the 30 & Over open wheel class. A couple of days later at the BSX Shane raced in the 30 & Over class finishing 4th in the timed run, he was eliminated by the smallest of margins in the semi by Jade McPherson, but went on to win the B final taking 3rd overall beating his mate Chris Van Winden. Just last weekend Shane headed down to Warragul for the Royal Children's Hospital fundraiser and took 3rd place in the 14 & Over money class.
Levi Collins made a rare appearance at the BSX, he's been focussing on his motocross racing for the past 12 months, and although his results may not have indicated he was still riding very fast. He was seeded 17th and was eliminated by Josh Callan in the first round. You will see Levi back on the track more and more over the coming year.
Co-sponsored riders
South Australian Todd "Scooby" Guyers flew to Victoria for the BSX and showed some big improvements over his 2007 performance, a slip up in the timed run cost him big time. He was eliminated by Matt Dunsworth in the first round. After BSX Scooby returned home and injured himself training, he was out of action for a couple of weeks, then on to the South Australian Championships this past weekend where he unclipped on the gate in the A Pro semi final and could only manage a 5th place.
Jamie Bullows competed at 3 rounds of the Track Attack series and managed to finish in 6th place overall in the 30 & Over Open wheel class. At the BSX he managed to finish in 7th in the timed run, but was elminated in the first round by Chris Van Winden.
Brandan Bullows only managed to get 4 rounds in of the 6 round Track Attack series and finished in 14th place over all in the 14-16 voucher class. Brandon also competed at the Champbikx round at Park Orchards and finished 4th in the 15 boys class. At the BSX Brandan stunned everyone taking 10th overall in the pro open class, a couple of mistakes cost him the first round though eliminating him early.
Adam Carey was getting in the AA Pro class mix at Track Attack finishing in 17th overall in a touch class of 25 riders. Adam competed in the Elite mens class at the UCI round at Park Orchards, with Australia's best riders converging on the track he didn't qualify out of the motos. At the BSX a slip up cost him dearly in the timed run, he finished up seeded 27th, but managed to eliminate Canadian Mischa Partridge in the first round. He was knocked out in the second round by Adam Shields.
The bmxultra.com team is proudly supported by One Bicycles, Supercross BMX, Answer BMX, Dirt Designs, ActionSportsDepot.net, and Tektro brakes.

BMX Australia press release
Australian Olympic BMX hopeful Jared Graves (TOOWOOMBA) won the seventh round of the UCI Oceania Series in North Harbour, New Zealand today. The 25 year old beat current Oceania leader Marc Willers (CAMBRIDGE, NZ) who finished in sixth place. Fellow Australian High Performance Team member, Luke Madill (PENRITH), claimed second with South Australian, Brian Kirkham (ADELAIDE) in third.
“I got out pretty good. Marc (Willers) was riding well all day. He was the one to beat. He had lane eight which was a little steeper but a bit rougher. I had lane four in the final which couldn’t have worked out better for me,” Graves said.
Brian (Kirkham) was my main worry,” admitted Graves.
A strong start by Graves left him clear of the action behind. Into the final straight Willers tried to correct himself and regain some lost ground nearly crashing but managed to stay upright into the finish.
“These are good country points for Australia,” explained Graves. As Australia heads into the Olympic countdown the ranking of each country will determine the number of riders. Willers, however, still maintains the lead in the men’s Oceania series.
Riders were pleased with the track designed by Olympic track builder, Tom Ritzenthaler, but it was the gate starts that caused riders the most difficulty.
“The gate was dropping slowly. You pretty well had to wait for the fourth beep,” explained Graves.
I’ve been having a lot of trouble with it. I hit the gate hard in two of the three motos.”
Last week at the first World Cup in Spain, Madill qualified the third fastest but missed the final. Willers made the final and placed second overall.
The elite women’s race was won by World number one, Sarah Walker (Kawerau,NZ) proving her top ranking by winning comfortably today. Second was Australian Melissa Mankowski (Moranbah/Campbelltown) and Krystal Cranfield (Gladstone, Browns Plains) in third.
Walker now cements her lead in the Oceania Series. Riders will return to the same track tomorrow for the next round. The following two rounds will be held in Australia in Penrith on the 8 – 9 March before Adelaide hosts the World Supercross in April.
Final result:

We love the old school track down at Warragul in South Eastern Victoria. Actually, pretty much everyone who goes down that way does. It's hard to explain the appeal. It's a great little tree lined park area with a track that's straight out of the early 80's. A 10" high six man manual pedal start gate on a flat hill that runs into a winding track with pretty much flat corners, short straights and one jump per straight. Sounds boring compared to todays tracks, I know, but it's a whole lot of fun, actually it's a great track to introduce people to BMX racing too. With nothing too daunting and a great atmosphere.
This Sunday's event is a fundraiser for the Royal Children's Hospital. Don't miss out on the fun, and it's supposed to be great weather too. Entries will be accepted on the day, but get in nice and early to make it easier on everyone. Check out the entry form on the race calendar for full details.

BMX Australia press release
Australian BMX rider Luke Madill (PENRITH) qualified third fastest in the world in the seeding runs at the BMX Supercross World Cup in Madrid, Spain overnight
The 26 year old rode an impressive 28.648 sec time trail during the second run to qualify just 0.184 sec off the fastest time claimed by Mike Day (USA).
“I was really confident all day,” Madill stated. “After my seeding run I knew I had the track speed.”
Madill displayed that confidence by dominating his motos (heats) and made it through the quarter finals and into the semi-finals.
A bad gate start in his semi-final left Madill back in the field.
“I did a bit of a wheelie and didn’t get the commitment,” explained Madill. “The track is tight and I tried to stay out of the carnage.”
However positions were unchanged after the second turn and Madill finished in sixth needing to place fourth or better to stay in for the final.
Reflecting on his new found confidence Madill said, “I had a really good day and a bad start in the semi.
“The way I rode this weekend is the way I know I could ride back home.”
With this event sparking the start of the more intense selection process for riders heading towards the Beijing 2008 Olympics there was lots of pressure.
Australian Jared Graves (TOOWOOMBA) qualified in 9th place after the seeding and made it through to quarter finals. Fellow Queenslander, Kamakazi (FORESTDALE, BRIS) qualified in 32nd place just making it into the cut off with only top 32 riders riding in the heats. All three riders are members of the Australian High Performance Squad.
The United States had four riders in the final eight but it was the Latvian rider, Arturs Matisons, who claimed the victory with New Zealand’s Marc Willers in second. Steven Cisar from the United Stated placed third while current World Champion and new dad, Kyle Bennett placed a respectable sixth.
Australian and New Zealand riders now return for their next two UCI Oceania Ranking Rounds in North Shore City, New Zealand on the 16th and 17th February. Willers currently leads the series for the men with Luke Madill second by just 10 points. The women's field is lead by kiwi rider, Sarah Walker and Ziggy Callan (Lillydale, Vic) in second.
The next UCI Oceania Ranking Rounds in Australia will be on the 8th and 9th March in Penrith.
Then all eyes will be on the first BMX Supercross World Cup in the southern hemisphere when it opens in Adelaide on the 12 – 13th April. Both the elite men and women will contest this spectacular indoor event to be held at the Adelaide Showgrounds.

One Bicycles/ECI press release
After a long summer break the One Bicycles team hit the track in January for Melbourne's Track Attack series. Six races in eight days is a big ask of anyone, but Kyle Horton and Issy Penglase were up for the task and made a big impact.
Kyle Horton won the A pro class at the Track Attack series by points. A strongly contested class saw riders from all over Australia and even New Zealand fight hard for their share of the money. Kyle continutes his drive towards turning AA.
Isabella "Issy" Penglase took the the track for the first time at the Track Attack series onboard her gold One. Some good results through the week saw her finish 2nd in the 10 girls class. Issy also rode against the boys in the 8-10 cruiser class where she was still highly competitive and managed a 3rd overall.
Chris Van Winden wasn't on his One yet but is officially a member of the team. He hit up the bsx and it looked like the time he had spent at the track over the past 12 months had paid off. He qualified in 3rd (out of 12) in the 30 & Over open wheel class and went on to the finals to finish 4th overall.
How to buy One Bicycles products in Australia
If you would like to purchase a One Bicycles frame or accessories in Australia the best way to do so is to head down to your local bike store and place an order. If they don't know what you are talking about tell them to call Elite Cycle Imports while you wait and place your order there and then. After doing some calculations myself I have found the cheapest way to get One Bicycles products in Australia is through a local reseller.

ABA press release
The American Bicycle Association hosted the Sooner Nationals this past weekend, February, 1-3 in Guthrie, OK. The racing at the Sooner National event was second to none! ABA BMX stepped it up in the track department and Billy Allen built a very challenging track to kick off the season. This was the second PRO Series event of the year and Guthrie has become one of the PRO Riders favorite stops on the tour. Guthrie has some of the best dirt in the country, the Arena is HUGWE and there`always a sweet PRO section. This year saw two hip jumps added into the PRO mix and there was lots of air time for the fans!
With 2008 being the debut Olympic year for BMX racing, the buzz is all around. There`s lots of media on hand and many of the sports top athletes from around the world were on hand to take a shot at getting some much needed points towards the ABA BMX titles. The 2008 season seems to be the Danny C., David herman, and Khalen Young show with a little bit of Cristian sprinkled in for some added flavor. Day one saw "Big C" Cristian Becerine bring his first AA PRO win of the season for the Free Agent World team. This should get him lots of play over on the Daleholmes.com. Cristian is always in the mix and is a threat to take the win on any given day. ABA National #1 PRO, Danny "Easy Money" Caluag, was on the box both days with a second in AA PRO on day one, and a third on day two. Danny has had a rough go in Guthrie the last two years, but this year he was able to prevail and stay on top the ABA BMX PRO Points battle chart. ABA BMX Rookie PRO, David Herman, continued to impress the fans with a Fourth on day one and a solid second on day two. A lot of people were surprised by David`s move to the Intense/BAWLS squad at the beginning of 2008. But, the change seems to working out well for both David and Intense/BAWLS team. I gave Aussie Haro rider, Khalen Young a shout out after Reno for his riding there. This time in Guthrie, "KY" delivered BIG TIME with his first in AA PRO on Sunday. Khalen is another Australian that has made the trek to the USA to live the BMX dream and go for the ABA PRO Title. Will Khalen be holding the ABA Cup at the end of 2008 like his fellow country before him, Wade Bootes and Warwick Stevenson? It`s a long series and only time will tell!
On the Ladies side ABA National #1 Girl and Girl Cruiser Champion, Dominique Daniels continued to impress taking home the victory on both days. "Triple D" has been training harder than ever and it`s really paying off for her in the form of victories and big checks. Stephanie Barragan really turned some heads again in Guthrie. Stephanie picked two very solid 2nd on both days and keeping her ABA PRO Ladies points lead. Rachel Luna made her Ladies Pro Debut with a new sponsorship. GT Bicycles picked up Rachel and should be every happy with her performance. Rachel was on the box both days with solid thirds. The new crop of ladies PRO`s looks to be a great addition to the class. I can hardly wait to see who ends up the champ this year!
Pro Cruiser was the ABA National #1 PRO Cruiser rider Danny C., Kenth Fallen, and Joe Sowers battling out this weekend. These three went at it toe to toe and when the dust settled it was Kenth Fallen with a one, two for the weekend. Danny C. had a two, one and Joe Sowers had a three, three on the weekend. These three really tightened up the PRO Cruiser battle charts and it should be a very interesting season to see who comes out on top.
Vet Pro was a heck of a show in Guthrie. Kenth Fallen made a big splash in Reno and continued to show he`s the "Real Deal" in Guthrie. Kenth picked up the VET PRO win both days and now holds the points lead for the season. The big surprise on the weekend was John "The Jackal" Purse making his VET PRO debut. The Fans were glad to see past ABA National #1 PO back in the mix. Jackal showed he`s still got the speed by keeping Kenth Fallen honest and taking the two spot both days. John`s no stranger to the podium and if I know John, he`ll be back on the top step in no time. John`s a true champion and knows what it takes to get it done!. Everyone`s favorite englishmen, Dale Holmes kept his results solid and pulled down the third both days. This keeps Dale right in the middle of the VET PRO title hunt. I hear rumors of a few more AA`s stepping into the VET PRO real soon. Things are only going to get tougher for this class. It`s starting to look more and more like the AA PRO class of the 90`s out there. I for one am pumped to see all the guys back out on the track!
The ABA would like to thank all the participants, families, teams, sponsors, and BMX industry for helping make the Guthrie, OK. event such a huge success!

About BAWLS
BAWLS is the brainchild of entrepreneur Hoby Buppert, CEO of Hobarama, LLC, who named the beverage for the caffeinated “bounce” the drink packs. Widely distributed to local supermarkets, convenience stores (7-Eleven, Speedway/SuperAmerica), Target, Microcenter stores and gaming venues; BAWLS is a premium, non-alcoholic, carbonated beverage made from the guarana berry harvested in the Amazonian Rainforest. The caffeine found in BAWLS Guarana contains the same amount of caffeine as coffee and nearly three times that of traditional sodas due to a naturally occurring form of the stimulant found in the guarana berry. BAWLS’ unique refreshing flavor tastes like a citrus infused cream soda and its popularity continues to grow among caffeine-deprived, refreshment-seeking techies, students, professionals and athletes in need of a Bounce. BMXV and XBR press release
In a very productive meeting on Monday night, BMXV and XBR have sorted out the date clashes which would have diluted the attendance at some rounds of both series.
From BMXV's point of view,
XBR's dates will be:
BMXV sincerely and gratefully acknowledge the spirit of cooperation which prevailed at the meeting, and particularly note the compromises made by both organisations in coming to this resolution.

When the anouncement was made that BMX racing would be in the 2008 Olympic Games many countries implemented Olympic programs early to prepare their riders the best they could. Australia and New Zealand were amongst them, and we have seen vast improvement in competition across the board with riders from Australa and New Zealand making world championship and world cup finals regularly.
The USA seemed to be dragging their heels in the early days when it came to an Olympic preparation, but now they are well an truly in full swing. And they seem to have a distinct advantage. Their best riders are at an Olympic Training Center with a full size replica of the Olympics track.
Does anyone else stand a chance?
Check out these videos and see what you think.
Supercross BMX press release
The 2008 season has started off with a bang here at Supercross, first we had Sammy Cools double at the Christmas Classic to take the lead in not only the UCI North American points, but also the UCI International standings, and then we had Kenth Fallen step up to be the new Sheriff in town in the Vet Pro Class. Reno started out with Kenth being sick but still pulled off a 1st on Saturday and a Second on Sunday in the ABA Vet Pro class, tying up points with Dale Holmes for the title chase, then the next weekend came the NBL Goodyear National where Kenth showed up feeling great and proceeded to tear up the track not losing a single lap to prove his dominance in the NBL Masters Class, unfortunately a little bit of rain kept him from repeating the performance the next day, but Kenth was ready for the next stop on the ABA Pro circuit at the Sooner Nationals in Guthrie. Kenth kept his winning streak alive by taking the Vet Pro and the Pro Cruiser win for Saturday and then came back to take back to back Vet Pro wins with another win on Sunday. All these weekends of winnings puts Kenth firmly in the lead in both the ABA and NBL for the Vet/Masters Title chases. The next stop for both Kenth and Sammy to extend their points leads will be in Sunny Florida for the UCI/NBL Gator Nationals in West Palm Beach Florida in March where they will try to put their Supercross¹ on the tops of the podiums again. For more information on Sammy, Kenth and the entire Supercross team is up to check out http://www.supercrossbmx.com for news and product updates and more.

It's funny the reaction to transponders. Some people think they are the bees knees while others just don't get it. It's obvious that the UCI have put their stamp of approval on them using them for the elite classes at all major UCI events for a few years now, the first time I saw them in use was at the 2003 UCI world championships at Perth. In the Feb edition of BMX Plus they make a point of the accuracy when close decisions need to be made. In the ABA and NBL they have efficient systems of scoring riders as they go over the line requiring few staff. In the ABA it's a single person who notes down all the numbers as riders cross the line, it's still relying heavily on one person and their interpretation of the results, and a certain margin of human error. What it does mean though is riders are finished once they cross the line and there's no holding up racing.
We used transponders for the first time at BSX this year, they were supplied by XBR who had trialled them in a Summer Series in NSW. One person on a laptop replaced 3 people with stop watches and a line judge. The accuracy was within 1/1000th of a second, and yes, there are still calls that are too close to make. We had two riders in the timed run with exactly the same time, which is fair enough since racing is so close these days. What it did mean though was when racing was close we had a definite result, we just waited for the times to come in and took the fastest time. No one questions an automated system, no one will try to show you video tape, there is no doubt.
Sure there may be some costs involved with them now, but like all technology, it will become more affordable over time, and I believe common place in sports like BMX racing.
Accurate results and allowing racing to move through quicker with few volunteers, they certainly get my vote.

Don't forget, one of the limited edition (1 of 50) bsx2008 plates that was signed by AA Pro rider, Joe Hey, (one of the winners of the XBR xpression session) sold at the bsx auction, has been framed and is up for grabs on Ebay, thanks to Barb Carey. I must make special mention that XBR paid for insurance for the event, if it wasn't for that BSX would have struggled to even make any money for the Royal Children's Hospital. A big thanks to Gavin at XBR for the support.
Because of the number of images I have broken them into two galleries. If you are on dial up it will still take a long while to download.

Mark Dobson brought vintagemongoose.com to my attention. It's a must see for any old school BMX enthusiast. It has a whole lot of detailed information and a very clever design. The one thing that really caught my eye was the photo of the Australian Mongoose team riders. Paul Librio, Stu Davies and Grant Williams on the riders page, although they weren't listed in the riders list.

Psykopath Industries press release
Psykopath has good news from our World Headquarters, after fighting with the city and county for over 3 years, we are one step closer to finally getting our track approved here in the East Bay Area. Carl Renowitzky who has been trying to get a track approved in the inner city for some time, got tired of the red tape and bought a strip of land in back of the Psykopath office and built its own trail park, we even had the NBL to insure it. We ran it for about three years, having long trial sessions, sprint money races, and even big dirt jumping contest with some of the best local pros. We stayed under the radar for a good three years, it run until the county officials said our spot was not zoned for recreational use (you can see some of this footage form our first DVD).So we shut the trail park down with a condition that the riders will received another spot to ride, there is never any guarantee when dealing with the government, but with the whole Psykopath crew pushing and fighting our politicians have been working hard to help our riders get a spot approved, (check what the newspaper said www.insidebayarea.com/search/ci_8117413 ) There is one more meeting left and hopefully we will be breaking ground soon.
Psykopath is always looking for new up and coming riders for our factory rooster, Our AA Pro Damian Lopez told us about the Larson family a few years ago when he stayed with them during a Psykopath road trip and about their private BMX compound. We are very proud to welcome both Alex Larson, Apro and Emileig Larson 14x girls, 2 rad racers out of Virginia!, we are so happy to have the Larson family aboard!. Both, brother and sister are famous for they’re jumping skills! (Alex jumped the 06 Xmas Classic berm jump on his 16” bike, isn’t that something!).They will be sporting our colors for this season! And if you would like to know more about them and their BMX compound go to www.bmxbackyard.com

Diego”Señor Smoothie” Alejandre from Ohio?, I been good friends with his Dad (J.C. Alejandre) and his family forever, I know them since my early days in BMX, Diego is a talented rider, I have know Diego since he was only probably 3 years old! (Which makes me old I guess) and I have seen him grow from a tricycle rider with a number plate to a National Caliper Rider. He will be racing A Pro, Super X, Junior Men, wearing our colors this year on his Psykopath Pull Frame!, in Limited edition Bumblebee Yellow ( the color of choice of Erika Short as well), and if you see Diego at the races take his bike for a test ride! And you can feel the difference between our frames from the rest!

NBL press release
The success of the NBL Coyote National in Goodyear, Arizona continues to resonate throughout the Southwest and judging from the larger-than-expected turnout, it could be become a regular stop on the NBL National circuit. The race, which drew riders from 24 states and a large contingent from Canada, was an instant hit with racers and spectators alike.
A large group of riders even took to the track after Saturday’s national and continued to ride. They all echoed the same feeling about the instantly popular Estrella Mtn. Track. “This is one of the best tracks I have ever ridden. After most races, I just pack up my bike and go to the hotel but I can’t get enough – Estrella Mtn rocks” said one of the riders.
NBL continues to elevate their presence in the West and the Coyote National provided a golden opportunity for western-based riders and teams to qualify for the 2008 NBL Grand National. Amateurs require only six National scores plus the Grands to earn a NBL National number and two of those scores can come from NBL Regionals. Best of all there’s two more big NBL weekends coming up in California - The Pacific Nationals, April 5-6 in SoCal (Whittier Narrows BMX) and the Golden State Nationals, June 21-22 in NorCal (Manzanita Park BMX in Prunedale).
The Coyote Nationals kicked off on Friday with the 8th UCI Continental race – one of the key races in USA Cycling’s Olympic ranking schedule, followed by the first of eight Pennant Series Pre-races. The new NBL Pennant series is offered exclusively at War of the Stars Pro events where all entrants receive a cool ‘limited edition’ pennant when they register for the pre-race.
Under Saturday’s beautiful sunny skies, Day one of the Coyote National featured 75 motos of great racing action. Kyle Bennett, the current NBL National Champion, proved that he is the man to beat, edging out GT’s Randy Stumpfhauser and Free Agent’s Cristian Becerine for the win in Elite Men. Alise Post pulled off her second win in as many days beating out Barragan and VBS-Kenda/BAWLS’ Rachel Smith. Supercross’s Kenth Fallen made his NBL Masters debut a success winning the main and Denzel Stein did the same in Super-Ex. The parched ground of central Arizona finally received some much-needed rain on Saturday evening which eventually led to the cancellation of Day 2 on Sunday – Bad news if you didn’t make the main but good news for Saturday’s winners who earned back-to-back wins.
Intense/Phantom On-Trac took top honors in the tough National Team division with back-to-back wins and pocketed Saturday’s double-cash payout for their efforts. With their full time commitment to the NBL Nationals and a star-studded roster, they may find themselves challenging Dan’s Comp and Factory Felt for the #1 Title. The NBL National Team title will once again come down to the Grands. Extreme Sports/Answer earned the double win in the Team NBL category ahead of BMX Bombers.
A big thank-you goes out to the Woodmansee family, who established this awesome facility, and to Justin and Lynette Hill and all of the volunteers for their efforts leading up to and during the National weekend. A job well done!
Next up in the War of the Stars Pro Series - The Gator Nationals at Okeeheelee BMX in West Palm Beach, FL, March 15-16. The event includes the last two UCI Continental Series races.
The 2008 NBL National Series is proudly sponsored by BAWLS Guarana (www.bawls.com), Intense BMX (www.intensebmx.com), Standard Byke Company (www.standardbyke.com), UGP (www.undergroundproducts.com) Sinz Racing (www.sinz-racing.com), THE Industries (www.bmxthe.com), in association with Camp Woodward (www.campwoodward.com).
