They produce high quality custom clothing for cycling, triathlon, BMX, motocross, ice hockey, and soccer. All of their products are available in both adult and child sizes. Hawk Racing has the lowest quantity requirements and the BEST pricing within the industry. Best of all, our turn-around time is hard to beat, as it is typically much shorter than in other companies.

Prophecy BMX press release
The 20 & 21 January Elite and Junior European Championship took place at Kortrijk in Belgium at the same time as the challenge races for the other categories….It was an indoor track with mainly one fast line, the rest of the track much softer, so it was complicated for riders in the pack to make moves after a bad start and expect to make their way through the field.
And it’s what happened to Moana at the Saturday race, after a bad start in ¼ of final he tried many times to make a move to come back in front, but out of the main fast line, it was impossible for him to get some speed to come back in front…
At the Sunday race Moana did not make the same mistake and reached the final to finish in the 3rd place on his new white Prophecy BMX Scud.
Sunday Elite Men:
1. KIRKHAM Brian (AUS) – 2. ANDRE Sylvain (FRA) – 3. MOO CAILLE Moana (PROPHECY BMX)
So after 8 Euro rounds Moana is at the current 7th place of the Elite European championship…
Video of the Sunday Elite final: 3rd place.

Thomas Metayer brings back home a 3rd & 2nd place from last Euro rounds in Belgium on his Scud Expert XL!
It was his first race on his Prophecy Scud Expert XL and he reached the podium twice scoring a nice 3rd place on the Saturday race and even a nicer 2nd place at the Sunday race…
Thomas can be very happy about his first race on his new Prophecy BMX scud Expert XL and can expect to reach first place soon!

About BSX
BSX (Bicycle Supercross) is one-on-one sprint trails style racing on a backyard track built specifically to test a rider's skills. The short straights, lofty jumps and tight corners are very intense under race conditions but also fun for competitors and create quite a lot of entertainment for spectators. The event provides a unique experience for the local Victorian riders, as well as the interstate and international visitors during an off day of the Track Attack series. The events primary function is to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation. In just five years the event has raised approximately $24,700 which has provided the hospital with new equipment. Funds have been raised through gate takings, raffles, auctions and donations.
About the Royal Children's Hospital
'The Royal Children's Hospital is the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and provides a full range of clinical services and health promotion and prevention programs for infants through to adolescents. Each year the Royal Children's Hospital treats tens of thousands of children through our Emergency Department, inpatient admissions and outpatient visits. The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation plays a vital role in providing additional funding to support important research projects and purchase state of the art medical equipment to ensure that every child receives the very best treatment now and into the future.

We often come across cool BMX brands that we have to share with the world. Usually it's a matter of sharing a link, but Syndicate Cycles doesn't appear to have a site, actually it's very difficult to find any information about them at all.
A handbuilt in the USA chromo frame that you can personalise.
We like the way they think and are sure you will too.
Here's some information from Syndicate Cycles that we pulled from an ad.
Who we are… We are BMXers who are tired of the same companies bringing out the same old bikes. People wonder why BMX racing has lost its luster. The colorful frames & team uniforms of the past are gone. The BMX racing industry has lost the inspiration & character that made the sport a world phenomenon in the late 70’s & 80’s. For those who remember that era, you got to see a time when style & flair counted almost as much as crossing the finish line first. At Syndicate Cycles, it is our goal to help bring the old timers back to the track & introduce a new generation to what riding is truly all about.
What makes us different? Syndicate Cycles offers colors that you want. Others offer you plain colors. Can you say boring! Riders want to express their personality through color & you won’t get that by ordering the cheapest powder from the powder coater. Standard colors consist of clear, candy red, candy blue, mint green, baby blue and white. Occasionally we’ll do some special runs of colors that aren’t listed above, & if you happen to get one, you should feel pretty lucky. Not only can you personalize your bike with color, but you also get a choice of decals. Decal choices consist of the “Rising Sun” logo or the “Cali Woody” logo.
A choice of cool colors, awesome decals and spot on race geometry will have you out in front; so I ask “Why not be different”

Supercross BMX Australia press release
January is always a big month on the Australian BMX racing calendar. Kicking off with the Nerang Nationals on the Gold Coast and quickly followed up by Track Attack in Melbourne's eastern suburbs and the coolest little BMX race in the country, BSX.
Max Cairns would rather forget the opening rounds of the Champbikx series, but pulled it all together for the A Pro class on the Sunday and finished with a strong third.
For Track Attack Max stepped up into the AA Pro class, and while showing signs that he has everything it takes to be competitive in that class he didn't have a whole lot of luck, but still it's not a bad effort from the 15 year old.
At BSX though, in the open men's class, Max qualified in 11th place of a field of 61. He progressed nicely through the eliminations knocking Josh Rose and fifth ranked Steven Gedye out on his way to the round of 8 where his day ended.
Jade McPherson was balancing his racing with some coaching duties.
At Track Attack Jade had a few years on the competition and in the two rounds he competed in he was in the mix, making both mains and finishing with a 5th and a 6th place.
AT BSX Jade posted the second fastest time in the 30+ Open Wheel and took straight wins through the elimination rounds to go head to head with Simon Anderson, five times winner of the event. Jade gave it his best shot, but had to settle for second place a repeat of his last attempt at BSX in 2008.

ONE Bicycles Australia/ECI press release
We had never raced the Nerang Nationals in the past and were offered to stay with my best mate Craig Fisher and his lovely family so we could have a crack at it. It was also the first two rounds of the Probikx/Champbikx series so my boys wanted to have a crack at that too! Queensland was renowned for having a wet event in the past few years so I did some tyre changes and set the bikes up for that as well as the chance of a dry one! The weather gods were shining on Queensland after our arrival at the Gold Coast. What a drive that was!
The kids went and had a ride at the track on the Wednesday open practice and looked like they had the track under control. The track had undergone some cosmetic work with new bitumen corners and some modifications to nearly every straight! I noticed Josh was spinning and not accelerating so spoke to our local sponsor Scott Hand of A Team Distributions and a brand new SNAP chainring was what the doctor ordered. That night some gearing changes saw Josh now ready for the event.
Day 1 Friday Evening Probikx/Champbikx Round 1
Josh was riding for the first time in Junior Elite and the Pro straight was mandatory, so he had dialled that on the Wednesday but was hoping the new gearing would see the jumps a little easier to master, which it did. Josh rode hard and looked comfortable on his bike, but his strength let him down a little and he was out after the motos. He was disappointed but realised he had some work to do the next day!
Nik had set a goal of making the semi-finals for the event and looked comfortable in his heats with a couple of fourths and a third, securing his goal of reaching the semi-finals. Nik needed to muscle up and ride aggressively and look for the top 4 to make it through to the final! When the gate dropped Nik missed the run and though he tried hard finished last and missed the final. Like Josh he knew what he needed to do the next day.
Day 2 Saturday Morning Probikx/Champbikx Round 2
After a chat with his old Coach Craig Fisher during the watching of his racing on video from the day before and support from current coach Adam Carey at the track, Josh had some idea of what he needed to do differently for Round 2. Josh came out and rode hard again with better places in the heats, but fifths were not good enough to get him in to the Semis. Josh was happier with his riding, but knows he has some strength work to do to be competitive in this class! 2012 will be his feeler for this level of racing!
Nik was keen to replicate his day one efforts and did so with some competitive racing in the heats and enough to move him to the Semis again. After a bad start Nik pushed his way up to 5th at one stage but struggled with pace in the third straight and was pushed back to 7th by the stripe, missing the final again. Nik was happy with the results as he had achieved his goals for the event, but also knew where he needs to work on to be a faster more competitive racer! This is his first year in Champbikx and the racing will only enhance his ability on the bike!
Nerang Nationals Saturday afternoon
Josh got to sit this session out as he was riding A Pro Men on Sunday and the Pros got a rest Saturday afternoon, but not Nik, he was back on his bike for 14 boy action on 20”. Mikayla too was racing and looking forward to the challenge against some of the best riders in her 12 girl’s class in this country!
In her first lap of Practice Mikayla came racing out of the gate and as she hit the first jump her handlebars snapped, sending her over the bike and flat on her left side, back and head on the down ramp. She got up and walked away only to get to me and realise what had happened. I asked her to go to First Aid whilst I took her bike back to the tent in pieces. I went and saw her in First Aid and she had taken a big hit, with skin missing and was a little in shock! I asked her if she wanted to ride and she said yes, so I had to run around and buy a new set of bars for her.
Mikayla rode frightened and hurt and it showed on the track! Brave as she was for racing, it did not allow us to see where she was at against her rivals! She struggled through the day and was grateful that one moto was dropped so she could get home and rest. She had a shocker with pulling out of her pedals in the first heat and not negotiating the first corner well allowing local girl Tegan McClellan to get through and take away the second place in the second. In the third she had some stiff competition and only managed another third. Mikayla was happy to see the end of day one!
Nik was on fire and racing hard and aggressively with two seconds and a win for the day stood him in a good place for day two. Nik was comfortable with the track and was muscling up when needed and was ready to take on day two of the Nats.
Nerang Nationals Sunday
All three kids were racing today. Josh was racing A Pro with a field of 58 riders. Mikayla back in 12 Girls and feeling very sore and sorry! Nik was set to continue on from his ride in 14 boys from day 1 and was looking forward to making another good day of racing.
Mikayla was in a stacked heat for the first moto of the day and got loose and unclipped in the technical third straight shooting her off the track and in to last place! Not a good start to the day. She knew she was up against it and came out with two thirds to scrape in to the final sitting in 8th place on points! Mikayla got lane 8 in the final and was up against it. She came out slowly and railed the first corner which allowed her to gain two spots and that’s where she crossed the line in 6th. Not a bad effort considering the weekend she had!
Nik was still on fire with seconds in his last three motos to secure a spot in the semi. Nik was sitting in 6th overall at the conclusion of the heats and looked as though he had a shot at the final. When the gate dropped in his semi, Karlten Wolsey got a little sideways and caused Nik to avoid him which then caused him to almost hit Hayden Curd’s rear wheel. Once they straightened themselves out, Nik needed to push to get in contention. As they hit the first corner Nik had pushed his way in to the important fourth place spot when he went to turn in the corner a rider to his right got caught up in his wheels and brought Nik down hard on the bitumen. There went his chance of making the finals and destroyed another jersey in the process! Nik rode well, but had some more bad luck which cost him a finals berth.
Josh was in a huge field of riders and was looking to better his results in the Probikx by making finals! Josh came out firing with some strong placings including a third a fourth and a second, securing his chance to make the quarter finals! In the Quarters, Josh got a bad start but quickly recovered to be challenging the all-important fourth spot! It became a drag race down the last straight with Josh missing the spot by such a close margin. Josh was a little disappointed with the result, but happy with how he rode!
The Nerang Nationals are a great chance to see where you’re at for the beginning of the season against your competition. The weather was amazing, bordering on hot, the track looked fast and technical, the level of competition was amazing and the racing was fantastic.
We would firstly like to thank the Fisher family for having us for the week we were in Qld, without their generous hospitality we would not have done the event. Great to spend time with special friends! To Scotty Hand, thanks for the ongoing support of the kids, you saved the day with the SNAP gearing for the event! To the Nerang Club, an amazing tent space was saved for the ACT Crew and we were very grateful for the view, thank you all so much! To Shane Jenkins thanks for your ongoing belief in the kids and support even with your busy life! To ECI, a huge thanks for allowing the kids to race the best frames in the Game in ONE Bicycles. All the kids are looking forward to building up their new 2012 models once they arrive!
To the ACT crew, well done a great effort by all and thanks for the fun environment created under the tent! To Rod and Shelby Green, thanks for joining us crazy lot at the event, it was fun! To Michael Jankowski, thanks for the memories and amazing 30 years of friendship champ…..very special!
Look out ACT Championships in March, we now know what we need to do to better our pace and ensure better results. Mikayla is hoping to make the Australian Mighty 11 team and make this her 3rd year running as State Champ in her class! A tall ask with the amazing riders in her age class, but she is determined and hard to catch on home turf! See you all at the ACT Championships and come and take a look at the NEW 2012 ONE BMX Race frames!

When we came up with the idea of BSX, about 7 years ago, it was all about the fun. A two man race/trails track built by riders, and a race meeting by riders, for riders. We chose the first Monday of the Track Attack series because, back then, there was a UCI race incorporated into the series. We tried to give the elite riders a little something to stick around for.
The first year was an overwhelming success, but not for a minute did we think that the event would be running for seven years let alone double the number of riders involved.
The whole thing is centered around raising money for Charity. 100% of profits raised from the event are donated to the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation. BMX has put a fair share of riders into hospital so it only makes sense that we support the RCH. We have the Kinglake CFA (Country Fire Authority) branch running a mean BBQ, helping them to raise funds as well.
The racing format hasn't changed a great deal. We kick off with about 2 hours of riding, then time trials to seed the riders and eliminations until we find a winner. The track on the other hand, that changes all the time, each year we throw a new challenge at the riders and sit back and watch.
This year it was perfect weather for riding, sunny 30°C and a slight breeze. The track looked amazing thanks to the tireless efforts of everyone who helped prepare it. A big shout out to Ronnie Guyers who put in a massive effort spending two days in the lead up to the event making sure it looked perfect and was smooth for the riders.
There was a notable absense with three time winner Josh Callan (racing in New Zealand) and his sister Ziggy Callan (retired from BMX), typically crowd favourites for the event. Bodi Turner, who was the 2011 runner up, was also racing in New Zealand, and missed BSX2012.
2008 Olympian and numerous times Australian Elite Champion, Luke Madill (DK/Fox), returned to BSX to try to reclaim his crown. Another very popular rider, Stay Strong's Darryn Goodwin, returned to BSX to attempt to claim his first BSX title. They were amongst a strong field that included WA's Matty Justa, USA's Bryce Hocking, South Australia's Scooby Guyers and a strong line up of Victorian's including Levi Collins, Tom Siinmaa, David Lyon and young guns like Max Cairns and Matthew White. Just a few of the 61 strong field of the Open Men's class.
With Ziggy Callan out of the mix it was time to crown a new queen of BSX. It was interesting that 2012 saw the biggest turn up of girls in the history of the event. 2011 runner up, Prue Harvey, looked to be hot favourite but she had a bunch of youngsters keen to steal the title away from her. Victoria's Iesha Anderson and Emily Richardson had shown massive improvement in their skills and speed over the past 12 months. Throw in Mikayla Rose, who's been jumping like crazy, and One team mate Isabella Penglase and you have a great field. But it didn't stop there. The massive Northern Territory contigency included Taylah Maurice, Regan Roath, Anne Yuke and Jessica McDermot and they would prove that they can't be discounted.
The strongest 30+ Open Wheel class assembled in the seven years of the event would put five time winner Simon Anderson to the test. The field included past winner Brian "Jock" Kelly, as well as Jade McPherson and Shane Jenkins, both former runners up at BSX. Add the likes of BSX virgins Richard McLachlan, Robert Slatter and Goldcross Cycles' own Daniel Burgess to names like Craig Walczuk, Chris Van Winden, Paul Knox, Paul Tomkinson, Jason Eecen, and a bunch of others and you have yourself some tight racing.
It's just as hot off the track as it is on though, with auctions, and raffles going on through the day. People walked away with goodies like CD bundles, Troy Lee/Skullcandy headphones, heaps of t-shirts, various bike parts and even complete bikes. A few last minute prizes showed up on the day thanks to Darryn Goodwin/Stay Strong who donated a signed jersey and a bag of other goodies and to the Northern Territory crew who donated a NT team jersey.
The time trials were run old school. We had three stop watches and a spread sheet to average each riders times out. It's not perfect, but it did the job. When the dust settled Prue Harvey took the top seed in the open women's class with a time of 25.53, just ahead of Iesha Anderson with 25.77. Simon Anderson (20.47) had a comfortable buffer of nearly a second over Jade McPherson (21.40) and the rest of the field. There were two riders in the Open men that cracked the 20 second barrier. Luke Madill finished up with 19.67 just edging out Levi Collins with 19.70 to take the top seed spot, Matty Justa and Tom Siinmaa weren't far behind in third and fourth. In the open men there was a tie for 32nd place so we had Jarrod Bywaters and Liam Skinner race for the final spot and Jarrod won the chance for a berth in the eliminations.
After the time trials all eyes turned to the ECI high jump competition at the end of the first straight. This time they were jumping for a trophy that stood over a metre tall. Darryn Goodwin took the win with a massive jump and the crowd were revved up for some great "no bull"/"last guy across the line is eliminated" style racing.
The two top seeded open men riders were knocked out of the competition in round one. First Wade Worth took the win over Luke Madill then his fellow Anarchy BMX team mate James Lautier took the win over Levi Collins. It's just one of those tracks, a slight mistake, even the smallest hesitation is extremely costly. There were no other major upsets in that round, but there were some stand out races by some of the younger riders who seem to be hitting their stride, Hayden Fletcher looked at home and progressed comfortably. Matthew White looked to be enjoying this style of racing too knocking Lachie Tye out early.
Matthew went on to eliminate Wade Worth in the second round and was quickly building a following. The upsets continued in the second round with Max Cairns eliminating Steve Gedye, Connor Hunter knocked out David Lyon, American Bryce Hocking knocked off last years finalist Chase Collins, and Tom Siinmaa got the better of Darryn Goodwin.
By the semi finals our third and fourth seeded riders (Matty Justa and Tom Siinmaa) emerged unscathed, they were joined by young gun Matthew White and American Bryce Hocking. Matty went on to end Matthew's giant killing run and Tom Siinmaa beat out Bryce Hocking for a finals berth. In the B final Bryce Hocking took the third over Matthew White when White went down in the third corner. In the A final Matty Juster had the inside running, Tom Siinmaa had the outside. In the first corner Matty just about over cooked it and kept turning on the exit giving Tom the advantage, but he pulled it all together and powered through the rest of the track to win by meer inches on the line to be crowned the new King of BSX.
In the Open Women's quarter finals all went as expected, well nearly, Prue Harvey beat out Taylah Maurice, Iesha Anderson eliminated Regan Roath, Mikayla Rose knocked Anne Yuke out of the competition and Emily Richardson, well despite being one of the favourites for the win and a great talent, she was knocked out by the lower ranked Isabella Penglase. In the semis Prue beat Isabella and Iesha beat Mikayla to set up two evenly matched finals. Isabella had just a little more power than Mikayla and took the third place. In the big final though Prue had the power on Iesha but also had the weight of the world on her shoulders, one slight mistake and the race was Iesha's for the taking. When the dust settled though it was Prue who would take the win and be crowned the Queen of BSX.
In the first round of the 30+ Open Wheel Shane Jenkins with 5 top three finishes in the last 5 years faced 5 times winner Simon Anderson. Jenkins just about pulled off an upset of his own but fell about half a bike length short. That set the tone for the round and the underdogs started to bite back Gordon MacRae took out Jason Eecen, Robert Slatter eliminated Daniel Burgess, Paul Knox knocked off Craig Penglase. But that's where the upsets ended, the top 4 seeded riders all made it through to the finals. Richard McLachlan faced off with Simon Anderson in the semi final, which looked to be the battle of the day. Aussie Vs Kiwi, 20" Vs 24", it had the makings of legend. But it was Simon who would take the win, this time. Richard went on to defeat Paul Tomkinson in the B-final for third and fourth place. Simon and Jade had a re-run of the 2008 final. Jade put up a great fight but once again Simon was just too smooth and took his sixth consecutive BSX win.
When people are eliminated through the day they sign their number plates and hand them back, at the end of racing we auction them off, each year it help raise around $1000.
Here's a list of some of the most expensive Goldcross Cycles BSX2012 plates
We ran out of time to complete all of the auctions on the day so there will be a number of online auctions to clear those items including 2 x GT Bicycles, BMX race frames, tyres, pedals, seat/posts combos, grips, t-shirts, hubs, stem, chainring and more.
Initial count puts the money raised so far at around the $6,000 mark with $4,000 in product still to auction off and a number of t-shirts and hoodies still to sell.
How you can pick up BSX auction items and merchandise will be announced very shortly.
Until then, thank you very much for everyone who supported the event, no matter how small. To anyone who helped get the track into race condition, you all did an awesome job, to our generous partners who threw in product to help raise money thank you. To all the riders and spectators thank you. We will see you at BSX2013.

Additional Auctions
Given the long day with the massive number of riders on the day and the fact that some of the prizes hadn't arrived in time for the event haven't finished with our auctions. We are going to look at the best way to do this. Keep an eye out for online auctions and the possibility of maybe running auctions at a Track Attack round this weekend.

Today's the big day! The Goldcross Cycles BSX! The forecast is looking awesome, 32°C and mostly sunny and the competition on and off the track will be even hotter. Come to BSX! There is nothing else like it!
BSX (short for Bicycle Supercross, and is often referred to as Backyard Supercross) is a Royal Children's Hospital fund raiser. It will be on again on Monday January 16, 2012 (during Track Attack). It will be the seventh running of the one on one backyard BMX race. BSX is the longest running event of it's kind in the world and draws a large number of competitors from around Australia. The event has pulled a few international visitors and a number of Olympians.

The raffles will be drawn after the finals, the silent auctions will finish after the presentation, then on to the number plate auction and the auction for the other prizes.

There's just 3 days to go until the Goldcross Cycles BSX! The forecast is looking awesome, 30°C and mostly sunny and the competition on and off the track will be even hotter.
New Silver Partner: Anarchy BMX
The Anarchy BMX brand has been re-born in a big way. There's new owners, a new frame (the Anarchy Riot), and a new team.
Anarchy BMX have donated a race frame and are shipping it express from the US. Fingers crossed that it makes it on time for BSX, if not we'll have an online auction, which we will announce details for at a later date (if required).
Anarchy BMX frames are available in Australia through Supercross BMX Australia. For dealer enquiries contact sxaustralia@supercrossbmx.com.
Thank you Anarchy BMX for your kind donation.
New Silver Partner: Speedline Parts
Speedline Parts are another last minute addition to the already very impressive line up of BSX partners. Speedline have a nice range of BMX products that includes cranks, pedals, headsets, seat clamps and chains. The range is continually growing and will include brakes very shortly.
Speedline Parts have donated a bunch of Speedline clip pedals to help raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital, we are very proud to have them on board as a partner for 2012. The Speedline Parts products are being express shipped from the US and we hope they arrive in time, if not they will be auctioned off after the event, details at a later date (if required).
Speedline Parts are available in Australia through Supercross BMX Australia. For dealer enquiries contact sxaustralia@supercrossbmx.com.
A big thanks to Speedline Parts for their support.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What does the weather look like for Monday?
A. The weather gods have decided that the track has had enough water and will shut things down for the weekend to give the track a chance to dry up. The minute it's dry we'll get it under cover for the evening before the event.
The current forecast for Monday is 30°C and mostly sunny. Check here for the most up to date forecast: http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/forecasts/yarraglen.shtml
Q. What can I win?
A. Our generous partners have donated many prizes, more than you could imagine. There's everything from CDs, to t-shirts, there's just about enough bike parts to build a couple of full bikes and still have plenty of spare parts, and let's not forget 3 complete GT Bikes, there's an MTB Downhill tour and a whole lot more.
We will have a couple of raffles, auctions and silent auctions, so there are many ways to win. The auctions will be run through the day. The raffles will be drawn after the finals, the silent auctions will finish after the presentation, then on to the number plate auction and the auction for the other prizes.
What can you win? There's a pretty damn good chance you could walk away with a whole lot of goodies, but you have to be in it to win it!
Q. How does the track look?
A. The track has been well groomed leading up to the event, with improved drainage the water flows away quickly. That said, a day or two of sun and the track should be perfect for the big day.
Q. Where is BSX?
A. 55 Watsons Rd, Pheasant Creek. Check the entry form for maps and directions. Melways doesn't have detailed maps of the area. If you are relying on GPS, it's best to plan your trip first, GPS has been known to drop out in the area.
Q. What food is there?
A. As per usual the Kinglake West CFA will be providing the most awesome BBQ (and drinks) on the hill for the whole day. Make sure you bring some money along and help the CFA keep the area safe.
Q. Can I bring a tent?
A. Sure, but we cannot reserve spots for you. It's first in best dressed. Sponsor tents will be positioned before the general public is allowed through the gate.
Q. What are the classes?
A. Classes:
Q. How do I enter?
A. Look for any of the bmxultra.com team riders or the bmxultra.com banner at rounds two and three of Track Attack (South Eastern and Park Orchards) or you can enter on the day at the gate from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. You must also present your license. Freestyle BMX registered riders are also able to enter the event. We also have day licenses for unlicensed riders. It's $30 to enter the competition classes (Open Men, Open Women and 30+ Open Wheel) and $20 for the non-competition class (Gromits) who will receive a number plate to run on their bikes and have signed by their favourite riders.

bmxultra.com press release
It's not often that we have riders leave the bmxultra.com race team, but when they get an offer too good to refuse it makes us proud to be a part of helping the rider get there. In this case Adam Carey is moving on to Kuwahara. Here's the announcement in his own words.
It has come time for me to step onto another bike for 2012. The Nerang Probikx series will be my last race on a ONE bicycle!
After seven years riding for bmxultra.com on a ONE bicycle it has come time for me to move on!

I would also like to thank ECI (Elite Cycle Imports) for their support, which is continuing into 2012!

New Silver Partner: GT Bicycles/Cycling Sports Group
It's a small world that we live in and an even smaller bicycle industry. Our major partner Goldcross Cycles have already donated 2 complete GT Bicycles and a Cruiser frame, they didn't stop there. Daniel Burgess from Goldcross Cycles made a quick phone call to the GT Bicycles distributor, Cycling Sports Group (www.cyclingsportsgroup.com.au). His intention was to see if they could help out with anything extra to sweeten some auction deals and help raise some extra funds for the Royal Children's Hospital. This lead to an additional complete GT 20" Pro bike!
We'd like to welcome GT Bicycles, one of the biggest names in BMX racing for four decades and Cycling Sports Group and thank them for their generous donation.
Without support from companies like this, and of course our other partners, BSX wouldn't be possible. Make sure you support the companies that support BMX racing. Buy local!

From time to time I am asked how Old School and Mid School BMX is defined. It's one of those questions that just makes me laugh. Apparently there are only 3 eras of BMX, if you were to wind the clock forward 100 years your current bike would still be called New School?
There are a variety of loose definitions for Old School, if you run by some of the retro race events Old School is Pre A Head & Pre V Brakes and Pre 1986.
Mid School is usually bikes built between 1986 and 1999, and New School is anything 2000 onwards.
Like I said all very loosely defined, and it probably would have made sense in 2006 when someone decided that anything more than 20 years old was Old School. But really does BMX racing have no future?
I love old school stuff, I started racing in the very early 80's and had some of the bikes that went on to be some of the most sort after by many collectors. I have an unhealthy obsession with chrome too, but apart from a few small relics I don't have a "Pre 86" collection of bikes. Back then they weren't as well constructed and my frames would last no longer than a year before I'd be breaking them and moving on to the next one. I have to say I'm glad those days are long gone.
I am far more passionate about "Late 80's to Late 90's" frames that were built with more ridable geometry and were built to last. I have quite a collection of products from this era and always keep an eye out for more. This gear doesn't have the price tag of the older stuff that pre dates it, but it's getting to a point where you could say a lot of it is harder to find.
Anyway I'm guessing my original point is why can't we just say "I have a USA built 97-98 SE Quad Angle NOS frame". It's far more accurate and descriptive than a Mid School SE Quad Angle and we won't have to continue to come up with newer terms, like Really New School and Newer School and Newest School, when each will continue to be out dated by the next.
I'm not a big car buff but don't they call anything older than say 30 years vintage?
Seriously we need to rethink how we categorise BMX as time goes by, I think we should start now.

You wouldn't blame Supercross BMX for taking a moment to bask in the glory of winning the 2011 Bike of the Year award, except that's not what they do. At Supercross BMX it's always heads down tail up. If they aren't doing the regular day to day tasks they are refining current products or designing new gear to blow our socks off. Full steam ahead is how they do things tucked away in the Apple Valley.
Their latest project is the Playground. When Supercross moved into their new warehouse about a year ago they had big plans for the massive 3 acre yard. The only thing that slowed them down was accessing the huge amount of dirt required to build the UCI Supercross style track. Once that arrived it took no time for Bill and his crew to organise machinery and while most of us were kicking back winding down 2011 and celebrating NYE the guys at Supercross were shaping one of the coolest backyard tracks we have ever seen.
The crew are getting to the tail end of the build, and look to be finished by the end of the week. To follow the build progress photos check out http://www.supercrossbmx.com/article/welcome_to_the_playground
