Review: Loose Kid Industries Interstate Backpack

Before I saw a press release that the DK Australia team got a hook up with Loose Kid Industries (LKI) they weren't on my radar... at all. I vaguely remember seeing some stickers on peoples bikes and cars but never really thought much about it at the time. I just assumed they were another American clothing start up company. I was pleased to find out that they are actually an Australian company and are quite popular. Maybe I should have pulled my head out of the sand earlier. Not only do they sponsor the Australian DK BMX team, they also look after 2012 Olympic hopeful Brian Kirkham. Actually if you get a chance to check out their catalogs you will see they have used Brian as one of their models.

I took at look at the LKI catalog for products we thought you might be interested in and liked the looks of the LKI Interstate Backpack. I have been using backpacks for years, come to think of it probably over two decades now. They are just so versatile, whether you are looking for somewhere to stash your laptop while traveling, your clothing for a race meeting or a weekend getaway, your camera equipment or just simply your hat and sunscreen. I get a lot of use out of my backpack that's for sure, and when it comes to a race meeting I don't leave home without one.

LKI Interstate Backpack

I'd like to tell you that the LKI Interstate Backpack has one good reason to buy it. It's got all the standard features that makes it useful for just about anything; it looks great, has plenty of storage, has a media port, padded mesh back and shoulder straps for comfort. So it pretty much checks all the boxes when it comes to being a backpack. The one thing that did stand out for me was the price tag. At $69.95 it's not bad at all.

I generally don't like to go for something that's just covered in logos, but while this backpack is covered in logos, it's not like it has a busy "look at me" effect. I like the shiny chrome badge, which is probably no surprise to regular readers, and the sewn LKI logo is also a nice touch.

No matter how I look at it I'm pretty happy with my new backpack. It is comfortable, it's got plenty of room to stash stuff and it looks great.
