BMX Australia 2017 National Series Schedule

BMX Australia has today announced the dates and locations for next years UCI National Series and BMXA Grands Assault rounds.

In early July this year, the board of BMX Australia revealed the development of a new truly national series known as the ‘Grands Assault’, with the hope of boosting participation by eventually holding rounds in every state and territory in Australia over the coming years.

The Grands Assault will run alongside the existing National Series, and in 2017 both series’ will be held over four rounds around the country.

Competition will begin in the first week of January in Nerang, Queensland before making a trip south to Shepparton in Victoria in early February. By March racing will take place in Bathurst, NSW with the final rounds of action being held in Cairns, Queensland.

Complimenting those four events will be the 2017 BMX Australia National Championships, which will run from Sunday April 30 to Sunday May 7 at the Sleeman Sports Complex.

Below are the dates and locations for the UCI National Series and BMXA Grands Assault.

  •  UCI National Series Round 1 –  January 6 – Nerang QLD
    BMXA Grands Assault Round 1 – January 7 – Nerang QLD
  • UCI National Series Round 2 –  February 4 – Shepparton VIC
    BMXA Grands Assault Round 2 – February 5 – Shepparton VIC
  • UCI National Series Round 3 –  March 4 – Bathurst NSW
    BMXA Grands Assault Round 3 – March 5 – Bathurst NSW
  • UCI National Series Round 4 –  April 1 – Cairns QLD
    BMXA Grands Assault Round 4 – April 2 – Cairns QLD
