Pride Racing have released a feather-weight carbon rim to the race market, the Pride Wave CFR Carbon rim. If saving weight is your thing you need to check these beauties out.

The only downside we can see is that they have no braking wall and are available for disc brake only, chances are if you are looking at carbon rims you already have disc brakes.

Manufacturer’s Description

Discover the WAVE rim, created and developed exclusively for BMX Race. It is a brand new exclusive Pride Racing design, including a square-shaped reinforcement around each spoke hole. This will allow a higher spoke tension for a higher wheel stiffness. The spoke heads will also be better oriented during spoking.

The Wave rim is made of Toray T700 carbon and has a very low profile: 22mm high and 31mm wide (for 406/36h) and 25mm in height and 23mm in width (for 451/28h). These dimensions avoid wind resistance and optimise vertical and lateral stiffness. With less than 300g on the scale, it becomes one of the lightest rims on the market, a real asset on the track!

This rim is Tubeless compatible. This requires the use of a rim base, a valve and a specific tubeless tyre. It does not have brake pads for the brake blocks, it is only compatible with disc brakes.
