BMX Racing Olympic Medal Tally Since 2008

Who’s your favourite for BMX racing Gold at Paris 2024 Olympics?

BMX is an unpredictable sport with so many factors producing a winner.

The best of the best will fight it out for Olympic gold this week and with only 24 men and 24 women competing, predicting a winner might be a little easier than at a World Cup or World Championships event, but no bet is safe.

One thing you could look at is historical information, you could analyse it for days, but the only way we can tell who will be the next Olympic gold medalist is to wait until the dust settles after the finals.

For now, while we wait for BMX racing to hit the big stage, here’s the break down of medals awarded since the sport was introduced to the Olympics at Beijing in 2008.

Gold Silver Bronze Total
Columbia 2 1 3 6
Latvia 2 2
USA 1 2 2 5
Netherlands 1 1 2 4
Great Britain 1 1 2
France 1 1 2
Australia 1 1
New Zealand 1 1
Venezuela 1 1

Of all the medals awarded there are very few multiple medal winners. Obviously there’s Mariana Pajon (with 2 x gold and 1 x silver) and Maris Strombergs (with 2 x gold) but there’s also Carlos Ramirez (with 2 x bronze).

We can’t wait to see how this medal tally will change over the next week.
