GoBMXing Day – Melbourne – 14 November
It’s just a month away now until GoBMXing Day. In case you missed it Go BMXing Day is an idea by riders for riders. It’s all about getting people out on bikes for an entirely informal social ride. The date, November 14, is significant in BMX history. It marks the day that Scot Breithaupt organised the first BMX race in Long Beach California, it’s widely recognised as the first ever BMX race, the beginning of it all. This year will be the 45th anniversary of BMX.
Now we do have a t-shirt designed, but we’d need to know how many of you would be interested in buying them, if you are interested please let us know on the event page on Facebook. Any profits will be donated to Melbourne City Mission (www.melbournecitymission.org.au)
Where: JJ Holland Park, corner of Kensington Road and Childers Street, Kensington.
When: November 14, 10am-1pm
What’s going on: We’ll meet at JJ Holland Park where there is a pump track, skate park and family friendly dirt jumps and ride the morning away. Suitable for kids as well. Bring your race bike, or your retro ride. So far there isn’t any organised food or drink available at the park so you will need to bring your own.
