With IKON’s range of tubeless ready rims it’s no surprise that IKON are expanding their offerings to provide a full tubeless ready system, that includes; rim tape, sealant and valves. Everything except for the tire. Alienation, IRC, Vee and others have tubeless ready tires, with more on the way, it’s up to you to decide what will best suit you.

If you are looking at tubeless as an option to running tubes, you will need to make sure to not just buy any old sealant. It’s best to use a BMX specific sealant as we have thinner side walls to keep weight down than what you would see on a Mountain Bike for example. You would also want to run a tubeless specific rim tape to ensure the best results. The IKON valves round out the kit nicely and as a bonus offer the valves in 3 different colour options to further customise the look of your bike.

This rim tape is essential for tubeless applications by covers spoke holes and prevents air from exiting the rim/tire junction.

TUBELESS READY SEALANT

Tubeless tire sealant can be poured in or injected through removable core valve stems to make your tubeless tire system more efficient and allow you to set up an non tubeless tire/rim set up with the sealant and rim tape, along with tubeless valve.
