I’m always open to trying out new products, despite having my favourites I like to keep an open mind. The Unparallel Dust Up flat shoes are very different to what I’m used to but I can certainly see the benefits.

I’ve been racing BMX using Vans shoes for over 40 years, it’s what I started with, they are comfortable and provide plenty of grip.

The Unparallel Dust Up shoes are also comfortable and provide grip but they offer more features which are more akin to clip shoes. They have traditional laces but also a velcro strap for a more secure fit. The sole is much stiffer than a standard Vans shoe, but no way near as stiff as today’s popular clip shoes used for racing. Providing the best of both worlds, a stiffer sole for better power output but in a shoe you can walk around in comfortably between races. In addition the stiffer sole also means more protection for your feet. For example; crash your bike and stub your toe in a Vans shoe and you’ll really feel it, stub your toe in a Dust Up and you will be much better off.
