Turbo Bike Co. Team at Nerang International

Turbo Bike Co.would like to welcome Mic Young the Turbo Bike Co Factory Team. Mic Young made his debut for Turbo Bike Co. Factory Team at the Nerang International on the sunny Australian Gold Coast last weekend in the 17+ Expert class.

Mic got his new Gloss Black Pro Turbo frame only a couple of days before the big event and had two practice runs on it. Then he went out and carved up the 17+ Expert class with a perfect score of all wins on both day one and day two. Mic now leads the National Series in the 17+ expert class.

On Sunday (day 3) Mic stepped it up by jumping straight into the AA-Pro class with 40-50 other pros. He found it tough going early on, but hung in there and worked his way all the way through to the AA-Pro final. In the final Mic started in gate 8 and found it hard to get around a big pack of riders. In the end Mic finished out the weekend with 7th in AA-Pro. The newest member of the Turbo Factory Team made three finals from three events, and was stoked on his debut for his new team. Mic quoted “this is a dream come true, to make a AA-Pro main at Nerang. I have been coming here for a long time riding many different brands of bikes over the years, but to make it on debut for a new team makes it all the more exciting”.

Turbo Bike Co. team riders Blake Schofield and Michael “Tiger” Robinson were also in action in the hotly contested elite class. On day one both riders drew the same heat, which made it a bit tougher, having to ride against your own team mate. Both riders were looking strong until they were involved in a crash in turn one which ended their campaign for the day. Day two of the elite series had the Turbo riders draw different moto heats. Two crashes in three motos blew-out Blake’s points and he hit the showers earlier then expected. Michael Robinson was looking stronger today with a moto win and top two finishes in the motos. He got as far as the semi finals where he missed transferring to the final. On day three Blake hit up the AA-Pro class. He cruised through the motos and quarters, with his day ending when he couldn’t get out of his semi. Blake is fresh off a month long stint racing Pro in the USA and is showing the benefits. Turbo Bike Co. would like thank our co-sponsors of Thud Racing and Rad Custom Clothing, and BMXPress Magazine for the picture of Mic Young #215.
