Sure Jigsaw Jumps are aimed at the Mountain Bike crowd, but they easily transfer to BMX. This is evident as BMXers from all over the country have taken to these ramps already. Sure, mountain bikers have suspension to suck up a flat landing, but that doesn’t mean you need it. You can also take them out on your rides once you are able to get around. The Jigsaw Jumps ramps fit in a specific harness, which you can purchase separately, so you can take it on rides with you. A win win no matter how you look at it.

At 520mm tall, when fully set up, the Large is currently the largest portable jump in the Jigsaw Jumps line up. If that doesn’t sound like it’s big enough for you Jigsaw Jumps have extensions for most of their ramps. The L+ extension takes the Large to 79cm tall.

I’ve been playing with a large jump with a L+ extension and, while it’s different launching to flat, it’s a hell of a lot of fun. It’s portable and light enough to move around and use existing terrain and features to create landers, wall rides, or whatever your imagination comes up with. The sky is literally the limit. At the same time it’s extremely stable and reliable.

My intention was to use the ramp to learn 360’s, although for various reasons I haven’t done that I have been able to build a flyout style landing that would allow me to learn new tricks but also allow me to hip to a traditional landing.

Manufacturer’s Description

The Large is like the Medium’s bigger brother, taking it to the next level with steeper geometry and higher takeoffs. It’s a bigger package but can still be carried on a bike comfortably with the optional harness.

As well as being an extra 14cm taller, the Large is 10cm wider than the Medium- giving you more space for tricks and extra stability so you can hit it with confidence and send it even higher.

Final Words

While I do prefer dirt jumps the Jigsaw Jump ramps can be assembled quickly and where ever you want. They won’t get knocked down by your local council and only take 2 minutes to assemble, try building a jump that big out of dirt, it will take a whole lot longer. Jigsaw Jumps are a great training tool for building confidence and they are a whole lot of fun. If the large looks too big start with the take anywhere pocket rocket or the Junior size that can be extended or even made into a roller or table top. Coming out of a very wet Spring, and a wet start to Summer, I can’t wait to get back on my ramp with the boys and try out some new tricks.

• Jigsaw Jumps are a training tool that are every bit as valuable as a practice gate or a sprint block. It doesn’t matter how fast you are if you don’t have confidence on a jump it will set you back. Also Jigsaw Jumps are a whole lot of fun for a great price.
• The ramps are light and compact enough for you to strap them on your back and hit your favourite riding spot. You just need to buy the carry bag to suit the ramp. I can’t think of any other portable ramp that gives you that flexibility.
• Easy to assemble, disassemble, store, and build your confidence on, what more could you ask for?
• I can’t fault my Jigsaw Jumps Large ramp. It looks great, is very stable when it’s assembled, and easily tucked away when it’s packed down. The surface is quite grippy, although like any jumps I wouldn’t use it in the rain. And of course there’s a certain amount of care required to extend the life of the jumps, keep them clean and dry and they will be with you for a long time.
