29/10 XBR Australia wins senior boys’ and senior girls’ Trans Tasman Cups
XBR press release
The Trans Tasman Cup is a TEST TEAM RACE where four riders from Australia race four riders from New Zealand on the track at the same time. The team with the most points at the end of five motos wins. Each year XBR sends over a Senior Girls’ and Senior Boys’ team which comprises of 2x15yr old riders and 2 or 3x14yr olds that are hand selected by XBR and the captain from the previous year. This race is a joint venture between BMXNZ and XBR.
The XBR AUSTRALIA team riders were presented with their jerseys and plates at a pre-race day function on the Friday night. It is a great tradition which allows all teams to get to know each other. Captains from all senior teams and Mighty Elevens are asked to give a speech – which is a great introduction for these riders to some of the obligations they may face in the future if they continue to be successful in this sport.
The Senior Girls’ Team of Chelsea King (Captain), Madison Janssen, Rachel Jones, Sarah Harvey and Airlie Gooden were under the watchful eye of last year’s winning team captain; Melinda McLeod. The Aussie girls took it out early and led the first day by 7 points. The girls had a great lane draw for the first moto on Sunday morning and made the most of it – finishing with a 1, 2 , 4 and 5 finish. This put them in an unbeatable position going into the final moto. The younger kiwi team put up some great competition over the weekend and will certainly be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
Final scores for the Senior GIrls’ was XBR AUSTRALIA 107 defeated NEW ZEALAND 88
The Senior Boys’ Team of Bodi Turner (Captain), Jake Lowe, Steven Gedye and Kyle Hughes were under the roving eye of last year’s winning captain; Adam Shields. From the first moto these guys asserted their strength and despite some good battles in the middle of the pack – the pointy end was all Aussie Aussie Aussie – with the Aussie boys pulling a clean sweep of 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the 4th Moto. They were on target for another clean sweep in the final moto when New Zealand’s Michael Bias went elbow to elbow with Aussie Kyle Hughes in the middle of the pack and put himself and the big New South Welshman on the ground. The Kiwi crowd loved it – down but not out – the Kiwi’s battled all the way. Kyle and Michael shook hands at the finish line and had a laugh. It was a true reflection of this spirit of this event; fight it out hard on the track, but make sure you can sit down and have a laugh and a snag with each other once racing is over.
Final scores for the Senior boys was XBR AUSTRALIA 123 defeated NEW ZEALAND 72
Congratulations to all riders who participated in this event and we look forward to the next battle in Rotorua, New Zealand in October next year.
If anyone is interested in being a part of the XBR AUSTRALIA team for Rotorua in 2010, we will be looking closely at riders who participate in the 2010 XBR COACHING SUPER-CLINIC, the 2010 XBR SUMMER SERIES, the 2010 ACT CHAMPIONSHIPS and the 2010 AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS.

27/10 BSX2010 – ride/working bee this Saturday and Tuesday
by bmxultra.com
BSX2010, a Royal Children’s Hospital fund raiser, will be on again on Monday 18 January 2010.
It will be the fifth running of the one on one backyard BMX race.
We have been slowly making some small changes to the track and it’s time to get them out of the way so we can get some riding in and make sure the track is in the best condition it can be for the event. If you have some spare time and would like to help us with a shovel or you are just interested in a ride, either way is just as helpful, just drop and email and let us know if you will be coming along on Saturday October 31 or Tuesday November 3(Melbourne Cup Day) or both. Kick off at 10am each day.
This just in – Keep an eye on the Auction
We don’t want to get into too much detail just yet, but one of the true legends of BMX might have some signed t-shirts for us to auction at BSX. It’s not Scot Breithaupt who signed some Joe Kid DVD’s a couple of years ago, but just as legendary, or maybe even more so. Just as the DVD’s went for big bucks, these probably will too, so all you collectors start saving, this is going to be big.
Track
We have big plans for track changes over the coming months, if you are able to help swing a shovel, drive a bobcat or just help ride the track and roll the new changes in then keep an eye out for up coming working bees.
Volunteers needed
We will also need some new volunteers for administration leading up to the event as well as running the event on the day. Jobs include parking attendants, ticket sales on the gate, taking entries, selling raffle tickets, manning the silent auctions, track maintenance and so on.
Riders
We have already had verbal confirmation that Aussie BMX legend and Olympian Luke Madill
is planning on coming. If you are interested in the event drop us an email webmaster@bmxultra.com to help us determine how many riders to expect, we would need to know what class you would like to ride (Open men, Open women or 30 & Over Open wheel) where you are from (City/State) and your name. Generally we end up with 32 riders in the Open mens class, about 12 in the 30 & Over open wheel and 2-4 Open women. But there is plenty of room for more.
Partnership opportunities
If you would like to be involved in BSX2010 we will have partnership packages available soon, email webmaster@bmxultra.com for details. Basically we are looking for donations or products for auctions/raffles. 100% of profits raised will go directly to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
BSX is presented by bmxultra.com and proudly supported by

About BSX
BSX (Bicycle Supercross) is one-on-one sprint trails style racing on a backyard track built specifically to test a rider’s skills. The short straights, lofty jumps and tight corners are very intense under race conditions but also fun for competitors and create quite a lot of entertainment for spectators. The event provides a unique experience for the local Victorian riders, as well as the interstate and international visitors during an off day of the Track Attack series. The events primary function is to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. In just four years the event has raised approximately $15,000 which has provided the hospital with new equipment. Funds have been raised through gate takings, raffles, auctions and donations.
About the Royal Children’s Hospital
‘The Royal Children’s Hospital is the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and provides a full range of clinical services and health promotion and prevention programs for infants through to adolescents. Each year the Royal Children’s Hospital treats tens of thousands of children through our Emergency Department, inpatient admissions and outpatient visits. The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation plays a vital role in providing additional funding to support important research projects and purchase state of the art medical equipment to ensure that every child receives the very best treatment now and into the future.

19/10 Morphine Industries signs the “Master” Vet Pro – Tim Dinger
Morphine Industries press release
Morphine Industries is stoked to announce the addition of Vet Pro Tim Dinger to its Factory team. We could not been more excited to add such a great rider, person and all around good dude to our family. Tim brings with him a presence and attitude that exemplifies Morphine Industries’ philosophy of having fun while backin’ it up on the track. Tim rounds out our 10 member factory team with an exclamation point.
Dinger is no stranger to being at the on the top of the National and World stage with a treasure chest full of single digit plates. His talent speaks for itself. Come on… what guy can borrow someone’s cruiser he has never ridden at the Worlds and finish with a World #2 plate. Not to mention riding the World’s longest wheelie out of the gate to get the W#4 plate on his 20”, back up by the World #2 from 2007 & 2008. That is a testament to his love of the sport and raw skill as a rider.
We hope to give Tim a platform to continue his success in BMX, while promoting the Morphine Industries brand and its Factory Team Sponsors.
“I am really stoked to join the already stellar Morphine Industries team. They have a ton of talented riders that really like to go out there and have fun while racing hard. Morphine makes killer products and they have amazing sponsors that I am looking forward to represent this year. I would like to thank Jonathan from Morphine for the opportunity to represent Morphine Industries this year and I look forward to a great 2010 season.”, states Tim D.
Look for Tim to debut the Morphine Industries’ colors with the Team at the ABA’s Disney Cup the end of Oct.
Check out www.morphieindustries.com in the next few days to see Mr. Dinger’s rider page and the rest of the Factory Team. Stay tuned, this year is going to be ride to remember.

14/10 Supercross BMX would like to congratulate 2 new ABA #1 Pros!!
Supercross BMX press release
Last weekend in a town of Chilliwack, B.C. Canada, the ABA held their Canadian ABA Grandnationals and crowned a new Canadian Pro King and Queen.
And we here at Supercross BMX are proud to call the new Canandian ABA #1 Pro and Women Pro our own. For the ABA #1 Canadian Pro Title, Jimmy Brown came from behind, as he was not listed in the hunt for the title when the weekend started and lap by lap seemed to go faster not losing a single lap and taking the win for the weekend both days and ending up with his first Pro Title.
On the Womens Side, Supercross BMX’s Kaila Sweeney was the reigning holder of the crown and went in to the Canadian ABA Grands in the lead to repeat her title and cinched the title chase by winning every lap on the Billy Allen built ABA Grands track to take the #1 Womens Pro Title home for the second year in a row.
Supercross BMX, and it’s team co-sponsors of Alienation BMX, No Fear MX, Block Jerseys, Kid Fuel, Speedline Parts, No Fear Energy, DVS Shoes, MJT Banners, TECH BMX Products, ODI Grips, and ESK Clothing all thank Jimmy and Kaila for a great year of racing and are looking forward to the 2010 season.

13/10 Maris Strombergs wins UCIs ”BEST MOVE OF THE YEAR” award!
Free Agent press release
During the UCI World Cup in France this past weekend, the UCI held their Awards Banquet after the race. Free Agent’s Maris Strombergs was awarded ‘Best Move of the Year’ after hiscome back from last place at the World Championships to 4th and qualifying spot after bad start.
It was said no one has ever come back from last at Elite level at a World Championships and still passed riders to qualify. Just proving the ‘never give up’ attitude.
Another great award for Maris.

12/10 Le Corguillé and Willoughby win ‘the double’ in BMX Supercross
UCI press release
Laëtitia Le Corguillé from France won the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Fréjus in one of this year’s most exciting Elite women finals. With this victory in the ultimate leg of this year’s BMX Supercross World Cup the determined French rider also secured the overall 2009 World Cup win for Elite women.
Just as impressive was Sam Willoughby’s victory in France in the Elite men. The 2009 Junior World Champion claimed his second win in a World Cup event this year and with that the talented young Australian from Adelaide was also awarded 2009 overall winner.
Willoughby was not the favourite going in to the quarter finals. He finished only 17th in the time trials on Friday and he had a rough start in the 1/8 finals on Saturday. He barely qualified for the quarter finales with one point to spare. But from that moment on the young Australian was on fire winning all following heats including the main event.
Le Corguillé was only second fastest going in to the women’s finals. Mariana Pajon (COL) had the honours of picking the inside lane as best qualifier. Pajon was also leading the eight finalists until the last straight in the main event. But with the finish in sight Pajon had to give way to a determined Le Corguillé. The experienced French rider, who also won the silver medal at the Beijing Olympics, beat the Junior World Champion on the line in a crazy and extremely close final.
In the men’s final Willoughby was also up against some fierce competition. With Maris Strombergs from Latvia in lane four. Strombergs is the current Olympic Champion and winner of the previous World Cup event in Chula Vista. The Latvian was keen on winning. But there was also the current Elite men World Champion Donny Robinson from the USA. Robinson looked in good shape winning all his motos in the three heats of the 1/8 finals. But Willoughby outperformed all. He charged out of the gate in the final leading from start to finish. Willoughby battled it out with Strombergs on the first straight and was leading going into the first turn. Then he managed to keep of Donny Robinson to claim double victory.
Sam Willoughby (AUS) said:
“I had a real rough start of the day. The pressure was on. But I managed to pull my head back in and refocus on the job at hand. I learnt a lot today! Our approach for this year was to focus on the World Cup events and the World Championships. That worked out really good.”
“For the final I wanted the inside lane and used that to my advantage, Maris and I fought it out on the first straight and it was a drag race to the finish. It is a privilege to race against such formidable competition. Great to win here and to be the 2009 overall season winner.”
Laëtitia Le Corguillé (FRA) said:
“Right now, I’m delighted, very happy! The fact that there are more and more people gaining an interest in BMX is something I’m really pleased to see. The Roc d’Azur brings me luck. It’s the third year running that the last event has been staged here and it’s the third time that I’ve won this world cup!”
This season, the French rider crashed several times and had serious injuries. “Her season has been really complicated,” said Fabrice Vettoretti, national technical director of the French BMX team. “In winning this world cup she proved that she is a great champion. There was a really big fight during this crazy final. Laetitia had to dig really deep to hunt down this victory!”
Donny Robinson (USA) said:
“I was not too happy with the way I was riding and Maris, Sam and Khalen were all incredibly fast. I did not have second place speed today. So l am happy with my result thanks to some good positioning and smart riding.”
Ariel Martin (USA) said:
“I am very happy with third place. I was injured not too long ago, actually my hand is still broken. So I did not get a lot of training done lately. Only the last few weeks I was back on the bike.”

09/10 BSX2010 – ride/working bee this Sunday
by bmxultra.com
BSX2010, a Royal Children’s Hospital fund raiser, will be on again on Monday 18 January 2010.
It will be the fifth running of the one on one backyard BMX race.
This is a little last minute but, we’ve been keeping an eye on the forecast and Sunday looks like it’s going to be a nice day for a ride. After a bit of rain stopped us from riding and working on the track last Sunday we are going to try again this Sunday. In between showers we did get the start of some changes done, it would be nice to finish off and start riding the full track. If you have some spare time on Sunday and would like to ride or help work on the track or both just send an email to webmaster@bmxultra.com so we know you are coming. We’ll get started from about 10am.

08/10 ONE Bicycles Australia Report – 2009 N.S.W. BMX State Titles
ONE Bicycles Australia press release
by Miekel Rose
This year’s State Titles was being held at the Central Region track of Maitland/Tenambit. The Maitland Club had prepared a great track for the event and provided the spectators with freshly turfed areas to sit and view the racing. Once again there was a chance of rain and thunder storms, very reminiscent of the 2008 State Titles.
Friday was a nice day for the practices and the kids enjoyed the track. We did the two training sessions and that evening the heavens opened up and fulfilled the forecast of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Saturday racing was in intermittent rain and the track held up extremely well. There were 4 motos on Saturday and another moto and finals on Sunday.
Mikayla was determined to get 1N this year. She had been training hard and rode very well, winning 3 of the 4 motos and placed second in the other on Saturday in the 9 Girls 20” class. She also raced in the 13 and Under Ladies Cruiser coming 4th in 3 of the motos and a fifth in the other. On Sunday Mikayla rode well again in better conditions and managed a first on 20” and a forth on Cruiser. Mikayla had an extra moto for 20” and Cruiser to finish off her weekend. Mikayla only needed a forth on 20” to win the 9 Girl Class and came out of gate 8 for her last race. She sat in the second spot and finished the weekend as 1 NSW. She was so excited and glad she reached her goal. On Cruiser she managed another forth getting 4 NSW in that Class.
Nikalus had a stacked age Class on both his bikes. This was to be his second big event this year after a shocker year filled with big accidents. Nik was on fire winning 3 of the 4 motos and a second in 11 Boys 20” on Saturday. In 11 – 12 Boys Cruiser, Nik was getting through the motos with seconds and thirds. On Sunday Nik won another heat of the 11 Boys 20” and a forth on Cruiser. This got Nik in to the semis on both bikes where he came second in his 20” semi and forth on his Cruiser. Through to the finals again for another year. The 11 Boy Class is loaded with Talent including 1W Andrew Hughes (Nik’s good mate). The Final was held in drizzling rain and Nik made a costly mistake choosing the wrong gate. He came out flying but found the three riders on his inside of him slightly in front. After a great race he finished 4 NSW on his 20”. On cruiser he had a shocker gate and was boxed out down the first two straights finishing with 8 NSW. We were very happy for him as he had struggled this year and did well to make both the finals.
Joshua was determined to make the final in the 13 – 14 Boys Cruiser this year and also wanted to make the semis in 14 Boys 20”. Josh rode well all Saturday making the top four on his 20” and seconds and thirds on his Cruiser. He was riding well and looked like he may achieve his goal this year. The 14 Boys Class is stacked with World and Australian plate holders and is always a challenge to make semis and finals. Josh managed to get in to the 20” semis and was unfortunate not to do better missing the finals this year. On Cruiser Josh rode a determined race and came in fifth in a 6 man semi to miss his dream of making the finals by one place. He was devastated and swore to make it next year. Josh rode extremely well and with some harder training with his strength and gates will be up there next season, but an awesome event from him this year.
This year we had the addition of 1A and 4W rider Justin Beattie on the ONE Bicycles Australia Team. Justin and his family are great ambassadors for the Team and ONE brand and had made a number of stickers up to throw out at the presentations. Justin’s dad Jim and I decided to enter the four riders in the Corporate Team’s Challenge this year and see how we went against some of the well known and established Teams that compete for the trophy each year. Due to some great results by the kids through the motos and with Justin and Mikayla winning their classes, we came down to a count back for the trophy, winning over Beyond Bikes Team and Blackman’s Cycles. This was a fantastic result for the Team in their first attempt at the Trophy. One Bicycles Australia Team were now the NSW STATE TITLES Corporate Team Champions for 2009.
I would like to thank the Beattie family for making the stickers for the kids to throw out at presentation, they were a great hit for the kids in the crowd. I would also like to thank Nat, Jim’s wife and Justin’s mum for helping with the scoring. It was nice to have a Team at the event and great to have their company. Go “Grandma” and “Grandad” for your ongoing support and contribution to the Team. Thanks to the Maitland Club for a great event. Let’s hope that Tamworth 2010 is a dry and fun event and that ONE Bicycles Australia Team can match or better their results this year. Great Bikes, Great Team, Great Friends, Great Sport.

07/10 THUD INDUSTRIES riders at WA and NT State Titles
THUD INDUSTRIES press release
A HUGE Congratulations to all riders who participated at both the WA and NT State Titles on the weekend. For all those wondering about the importance of coaching, have a look at the results. THUD INDUSTRIES trained riders featured across the board in both states. In WA, THUD had a total of 48 State Plate recipients. 11 being State Champions, 6 Silver medallists, 9 Bronze medallists, 4 x 4th place, 5 x 5th place, 3 x 6th place, 8 x 7th place and 2 8th place finishes. In NT where we are just getting started with THUD Industries, we had 4 State Champions. We, at THUD are very proud of our riders and give all our riders a big pat on the back for all the hard efforts. What doesn’t show in the results is the excellent riding done by all THUD members during the course of the weekend. We are equally as proud.
The big message here is that clubs should really embrace their coaches or coaching structure and run with a scheduled plan. If help is needed to setup a structured Club plan, contact your nearest Coaching business. THUD Industries is a full-time BMX Training Specific business that travels Australia wide to help riders and Clubs set up an ongoing, long term plan. There are also similar Professional Companies such as HRV FITNESS and Justin Lamb in Qld. By running consistent coaching clinics, a club will see their riders increase in not only ability, but also confidence. Regardless of who the coach is, our message is simple.. Support BMX Specific Coaches as they are the backbone of a successful club and our sport. Also, look for Coaches that have educated themselves beyond a Cycle Skills course…Please, don’t get me wrong, Cycles Skills courses are a perfect start for any budding coach, however, the education shouldn’t stop there. If a coach is willing to gain more knowledge, he will be the best asset a club can have.

06/10 Dirtz Traxn Trailz hard at work
by Barnsey (Dirtz Traxn Trailz – www.dirtz.com.au)
I thought I would send you a bit of goss on what we have been doing with tracks around the place.
1. In a deal between the Sakakibara family, Japanese BMX and Dirtz Traxn Trailz. ‘The Balkan’ (Geoff Cartwright) heads off to Japan today to build their first UCI standard track about 3 hrs out of Tokyo. The design was put together by Dirtz and young Kai Sakakibara (13 old) and is off the hook. Young Kai may just be recruited by Dirtz in the near future !
2. Dirtz just finished a 4 day complete rebuild of Pine Rivers in Qld. To create what is now the most Tech track in the sunshine state. Feedback has all been great, looking forward to their open in a couple of weeks.
3. After Japan, the Balkan heads directly north to Jingili in N.T. for a 6-7 day rebuild of their entire track. Their committee has been working flat out to get ready for a complete knockdown and rebuild of the track. The aim is to try and give the N.T. riders something tech to train on in the lead up to next years Aussies.
4. Following N.T. he is off to Terrigal BMX track, NSW for a 3 straight rebuild for their very picturesque track. This will be Dirtz working in conjunction with Elite GHP rider, Daniel Johnstone.
5. We have also just started on designs for a complete knock down and rebuild of the Melba track in the ACT. Famed for it’s concrete S berms it looks like the club wants these to go. Making way for a faster, more tech track with better spectator area.
6. We have just finished a design for a pretty hectic jump park in Queanbeyan, NSW . Should start building this before the years end.
For your info, we charge $250.00 for designs for BMX clubs only. This is very cheap but a rate for clubs only. If they choose not to use Geoff to build the track we will still provide a scaled, measured version of the design but at a cost of a further $250.00. Using Geoff to build the track does not incur this cost. Although most clubs are starting to realise how good and fast ‘The Balkan’ is at building tracks.
06/10 Besnate International BMX Fast Cross – Italy
by Mazzucchelli Gianni
Saturday 3 and Sunday 4, was held in Besnate (ITALY), the third edition of the now “traditional” competition of end-season; without Italy’s number one DE VECCHI Manuel (honeymoon in the USA), the starting gate was filled with riders from Italy, Belgium, Spain, France, Holland, Latvia and Venezuela.
From the Saturday’s morning time trial, the two Latvia’s athletes, Veide and Matisons (this last one back to racing after a long time) set the pace of the group, leaving little space to the remaining riders.
Arturs Matisons won Saturday’s main event, with team mate Veide second and Belgian Arnaud Dubois third, then Rossi, Gagnu, Delbert, Gutierrez and Jasper.
The victory in Sunday’s competition has gone instead to the impressive junior Veide, that beat Dubois, Gutierrez, Delbert, Gagnu, the Italian Champion Cristofoli, with the very fast but unlucky Dutch Jaspers (two final and two crash in the first corner) in seventh position, after a flying contact with Matisons, finished eighth.
The unstoppable Veide won also the “one against one” competition, where the 16 fastest time trials compete in a two riders moto, with the first one passing on the next level until reaching the two-riders final (similar a four cross competition but with only two riders).
Finally, Italy’s Manuel “Airtime” Schiavo won the jump contest, with Gagnu second and Gutierrez in third position.

02/10 BSX2010 – big annoucement and poster coming soon & working bee this Sunday
by bmxultra.com
BSX2010, a Royal Children’s Hospital fund raiser, will be on again on Monday 18 January 2010.
It will be the fifth running of the one on one backyard BMX race.
We have a massive announcement to make, but have a few details to iron out first. We’ll be finishing off the poster over the weekend and have a big surprise for you all when we post that. To keep you guessing until then we’ll just say this must do event has just become more must do, and there will be a whole lot of BMX goodies added to our raffle and auction prize list. You must be there to win them!
Working bee this Sunday
The clean up of the track is well under way and there looks to be a good break in the rain coming up this weekend. We have some track changes planned for this Sunday October 4 as well as a bit of a lunch time birthday BBQ for Shane, so bring your shovels and your bikes and head up to Kinglake for a few hours. We’ll be kicking off at 10am. If you are interested in helping out drop an email to webmaster@bmxultra.com and let us know you are coming and if you have any further questions.

02/10 ONE Bicycles Australia Report – Issy Penglase at the Castle Hill Open
ONE Bicycles Australia press release
Castle Hill Orange Blossom by Isabella Penglase
Well since the world championships I had only touched my bike once. So I’m looking forward to the summer series and the Vic state titles.
I was a little disappointed but also happy at the worlds. Disappointed by missing out with a 5th in the motos, but to see the French girl in the first moto boost the first double showed me where I need to go.
Dad has organised my training with HRV and Ziggy Callan for the next few months so I’m looking forward to the hard work and especially working on the manual and jumping skills part of the program.
Castle Hill
Dad surprised me during the week telling me we were racing in Sydney not at Eastfield – I was amped, I love road trips and racing in other states.
Friday night we packed ready for an early start Saturday morning, in the afternoon we arrived at Bruce Watman’s and he asked the question Track or Beverage – Dad won so Beverage and dinner in was.
Sunday we arrived early and straight away we parked next to a van with a big ONE sticker on it, Jim Beattie introduced himself and Justin. Next stop, the Rose Family.
I was great to feel so welcomed interstate and seeing so many Ones at a race, it was great.
The track was smooth and fast, but lack of time on my bike showed. I also found the gate hard and just couldn’t get my snap, Dad said the same but Bruce had it sorted.
I loved the first and second straight, the third was a bit lippy but over all a awesome track (Thanks Castle Hill BMX Club)
I raced 12 girls and there were 2 gates, not something I see much in Victoria so racing for a final. I managed a 3rd and two 4th so I made the main.
In the main I managed to miss the start again and got pushed high in turn one but held onto the lead pack half way down the 3rd I had no legs left and pushed as hard as I could and crossed the line in 5th.
It was a great weekend, the team together was awesome the Rose family for putting up with me under their tent! Thank You to Bruce and his Family for the hospitality. Dad and Josie for taking me up there, all thanks.
Now it’s time for me to put my head down and get back into training.

David Colley, Managing Director of ILM is very pleased with the deal: “We are delighted to be working with the UCI,” he said. “The growing TV coverage of BMX and its recognition by the IOC as an Olympic event shows that it is developing rapidly. This is thanks to the grass roots development and commitment of the UCI. Now is the perfect time for the sport to make its official entry into the interactive arena.”
Johan Lindström, the UCI’s BMX Sports Coordinator added, “The UCI is very excited about the idea of having an official UCI BMX video game. I believe BMX racing, especially the BMX Supercross World Cup format, will adapt well to a video game format.”
The deal has also been welcomed by BMX riders, including New Zealander Sarah Walker, the 2009 UCI BMX Elite Women World Champion. “Technology is now part of everyday life, whether that is in the business world, professional life or sport. Having a video game for BMX will lift the profile of our sport and hopefully increase the number of riders and spectators,” says Walker.
American Mike Day, silver medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games, is similarly enthusiastic. “I’m super pumped of the idea of seeing myself in a video game. I play a lot of video games and BMX Supercross will most definitely be great as a video game,” he says.
