A BSX2027 Update – We Could Use Some Help

Ok folks, we’ve been quiet about BSX2027, normally we’d be well in the throes of having the track and the event ready by this time of the year. But this year hasn’t been normal.

BSX is a little event, but it is jam packed full of fun for everyone. The norm, of late, has attracted around 130 riders and over 200 spectators for the past few years. We get hundreds watching the live feed. Over the years since BSX began, way back in 2006, we’ve raised in excess of $100,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. We’ve also helped the Kinglake West Firebrigade, who have been our exclusive food suppliers since we began, raise thousands of dollars for equipment to protect the local area and its community.

Over the years we’ve hosted many BMX racing greats, olympians, champions, domestic and international.

Our small team does a great job to provide a little something different for a great cause.

BSX is an event that is run by a small community, to provide the BMX community an outlet while generating needed funding for the RCH that provides services for the wider community. However as each year goes by there are less and less people helping to get the event up to scratch. It gets difficult to know where to start, sometimes it’s almost paralyzing. Sure, it’s worth it, but it would be a whole lot easier with a little more help.

We plan to run some open ride days between now and BSX. 4 hour sessions. For people who show up at the start for the first 2 hours, they will get to ride for 2 hours for free. Anyone else can ride the track, but will need to pay a donation (of course this money will go to the RCH as well).

Let us know if you would like to help so we can start organising ride days and we can keep the BSX legacy alive.

What is BSX?

BSX, short for Bicycle Supercross or Backyard Supercross, is an annual event that started in 2006. Since then the one on one elimination race has hosted thousands of BMX racers, and even dirt jumpers, from all over Australia, and around the globe.

With 100% of profits going to charity the event has raised well over $90,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and helped raise thousands of dollars for the Kinglake West Fire Brigade.

BSX2026 will be a special event, marking the 21st anniversary of the backyard BMX bash.

WHO CAN COMPETE AT BSX2026?

It’s a common misconception that BSX is an invite only event. This is not the case. Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun and festivities.

ABOUT BSX

BSX (Bicycle Supercross) is one-on-one sprint trails style BMX racing on a backyard track built specifically to test a rider’s skills. The short straights, lofty jumps and tight corners are intense under race conditions, offering a fun and entertaining event for competitors and spectators alike. The event provides a unique experience for the local Victorian riders, as well as the interstate and international visitors during an off day of the annual Track Attack series.

The primary goal BSX is to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation but there’s so much more to the event. It creates an atmosphere that words just can’t describe. Since the very first event in 2006 BSX has raised over $90,000 helping to providing the hospital with much-needed equipment.
