Manufacturer’s Description

Coming November 2022 – The OS20 Supercross ENVY RS7 BMX Race Frame

10 years ago we created the first BMX Superframe, the Supercross S7. It was developed to be the Ultimate BMX Race frame, and it proved to be just that. It was ultra light, incredibly responsive, super strong, and pretty expensive. But it displayed that you can build a sub 3lb Aluminum race frame that will last for multiple seasons. This Superframe laid the frame work for our ENVY line of race frames and now 10 years later, we introduce you to the latest addition to the Envy line, the Envy RS7!

It wasn’t enough that we built the RS7 to be the ultimate Race Frame, we had a few people as us for an OS20 version, and we didn’t want to do it, we had seen and spoken to Mikey Day and watched the way OS20 never caught on for racing, but when we gave one of the prototypes to Randy Roberts and he called to say how much “FUN” it was to ride, we knew we had to do it. We put them in production, not to be the ultimate race bike, which the RS7 is, but to be a Fun Bike to ride. It is the ultimate do everything, Go to the Pump Track, Hit the Trails, go to the Track, the OS20 RS7 is dedicated to Randy Roberts over 2 Decades of being on the Supercross BMX Factory team and his first signature frame. The Bulldozer said it was FUN, Here is what he actually said..

“I have been very blessed to have been riding the best Products in bmx for over 20 years!!! @supercrossbmx Always takes it to the next level…My new prototype xxxl OS20 almost feels like I’m cheating!!” – Randy Roberts

And he was right.  We know that it is going to save a lot of BMX racing careers, and keep you riding longer.

The Supercross ENVY RS7 utilizes our special blend of 7005 ULR Ultra Light triple butted custom shaped tubing that is a direct result of working with Easton® Tubesets for over a decade. Why 7005 Aluminum you ask? 7005 has a higher strength and yield than 6061 when it is properly aged and heat treated. Kind of a Superhero of Aluminum. The perfect thing for your race bike. Sound too good to be true? Yea we thought so too, but after a decade of real world testing, we can tell you that this frame is the real deal. Ultra stiff, yet incredible light.

Now to you Supercross fans, you will know that the  7005 ULR tubing has been used on all our ENVY Aluminum race frames for the last 10 years, so what makes the RS7 new? Well remember the first line, it’s evolutionary, well that’s whats new. When we released the ENVY it was a cutting edge for the time, and then we found ways to make it better. So along came the v2, the v3, the v5, and now the RS7.

So the last 3 years while we have been perfecting carbon BMX racing technology with the ENVY BLK, we also took notes, feedback and listened to what the riders around the world have been saying about the ENVY v5. All in the pursuit of building you the perfect aluminum BMX racing frame.

Here’s a running list of the improvements we have made to the Envy line over the years, making the RS7 the best Aluminum Supercross frame to date!

Wider flared Seat masts for better BB support and power transfer resulting in faster launching. You will see that all seatmasts from the Micro to the Pro XXXL are of a new forming tool. Each size is optimized for rider weight and strength to maximize gate start launch.

Refined butting profiles to maximize strength and stiffness while minimizing weight. Every Supercross ENVY RS7 gets new triple butted 7005 ULR tube sets that are our own custom molds and dies specific for BMX Racing. This allows the frame to be stiffer, stronger and lighter across various areas of the frame.

Refined head tube shaping. This may seem like we are being overly critical, but we listened, and during travel, a few people stated they had problems with the airlines denting the head tubes on their ENVY’s. We developed a new head tube that more closely mimics the shape of the ENVY BLK head tube and has thicker bearing race seats and walls, and it internally re leaved of the extra Aluminum. It may look like a larger heavier head tube, but it’s actually a heck of a lot stronger and lighter than other head tubes. The RS7 provides the stiffest front end across any of our previous aluminum models.

The new ENVY Rs7 also received an updated dropouts. They’re still 3D CNC’d with back side releavement to reduce weight. the dropouts are now cold forged to increase the strength and durability. While we were spending the money on the new cold forging die, we also changed the shape ever so slightly to allow your chain tensioner to work easier by maximizing the contact patch on the end of the dropout for ease of use.

New Cold Forged Bottom Bracket Shells with cold rolled threads. We have always machined our BB threads after the final heat treating process to ensure the truest and longest lasting threads. But now we are using a new cold forged BB shell with a tighter grain density to better handle the extra power you are putting out. The new threads are rolled rather than cut to increase the life of your frame and ensuring the threads have a longer life.

Are you getting the idea yet. We take the Supercross frames you love and continue to refine it for an even better ride and longer lasting frame over every generation!

This may be the largest of the changes, on Pro size and larger frames, we have always had the BB lug, where the chain stays are welded into the BB lug and the Lug welded to the BB shell. By doing this we maximized the weld area vs. having two tubes connect to the BB. Now on the ENVY RS7, we have taken that concept over the edge having the chainstays meet the BB shell at the widest point possible, leaving us with completely boxed in the chainstays with .058 7005 sheet aluminum. The BB area is now a larger box than what we accomplished with the old lug style, and increased your launch out of the gate where it is now nearing the performance of the carbon fiber ENVY BLK. The RS7 is the stiffest aluminum Supercross frame to date!

With that you have the new Supercross ENVY RS7 Available in 18 different sizes to fit all riders and 12 stock colors ( Jet Black, Gloss White, Matte Grey, Hi Vis Yellow, Guards Red, Neon Cyan Blue, Neon Pink, Neon Orange, Matte Navy Blue, Matte Army Green, Mystic Rainbow and Mirror Polished ) and more to come. If one of the 12 stock colors isn’t what you want, we still do custom anodize and powdercoat to enable you to truly make your Supercross ENVY RS7, your ride! Give us a call and we will get you hooked up.

When we designed the geometry of the OS20 RS7 we based it off of the regular 20″ Supercross BMX Fork.  So if you already have a 20″ Supercross and want to go to OS20 all you need to do is swap the frame and wheels and you are set and ready to go.
