Profile Racing: How Pawls Are Made

Profile Racing’s Gus Lanzilotta and Corey Alley talk us through how pawls are made on the wire EDM machine.

All Profile Racing hub parts are manufactured in house at Profile HQ at St Pete, Florida.

The process begins with sheets of hardened tool steel and ends with hundred’s of precisely cut pawls.

Pawls are the key ingredient in Profile’s cassette hub driver and freewheel systems. Paired with springs they are the small parts that both give you drive and, when freewheeling, make that Profile buzz sound that their hubs and freewheels are famous for.

A big thanks to Gus, Corey and the Profile Racing team.
