Sneak Peek: New Dane Design Threaded Chainring

Long time BMX racer and former bmxultra.com team rider, Dane Anderson, is the owner over at Dane Design. It’s an Aussie BMX brand that’s been running for over five years now and is known mostly for it’s stems and chain tensioners although their range of products goes far beyond that.

Dane shot me some photos of a new project he’s been working on, a Dane Design chainring. We don’t have a lot of information at the moment, and these photos show the chainring straight off the CNC machine so it hasn’t been through the final finishing process but it still looks good to me.

Here’s what we do know

  • 4 Bolt 104 BCD Threaded – taking influence from the mountain bike industry and making installation simpler
  • CNC’d from 7075 Alloy
  • The prototype shows “narrow-wide” teeth but Dane says production models will most likely be standard teeth width. There is a slim chance he might make some narrow-wide in 40m 42, 44 and 46 T options.

We’ll get you more information as it comes available.
