Transit Race 4 DVD

Trasit Race 4For those of you familiar with the Transit Race DVD series you will find a definite change of pace with TR4.

TR4 starts off with the UCI Supercross (downhill) race at Woodward East, PA. This time there is a lot more race action than the behind the scenes look that we got in TR3.

The Nate Berkheimer interview was a little disappointing. The name Transit Race implies that the DVD is a race DVD and interviews on previous TR DVDs were very thorough when it came to racing, even though they showed the riders riding a lot on trails. Nate didn’t talk much at all, he let his riding do all the talking, but it was at a skate park. While his riding was impressive, I would have liked to find out a little more about Berkheimer and what makes him tick from a racing perspective.

The section with TJ Lavin’s backyard is worth looking out for, and the race footage isn’t bad either.

My favourite part of the DVD is the Double Down one-on-one racing on a cut down race track. The jumps were very technical and the corners were tight, bringing even the most seasoned pros unstuck.

If you want to get over an hour and a half of BMX action on DVD, Transit Race 4 is a good all round DVD.

Rating 18/20:

Value for money: 5/5
Music: 4/5
Functionality: 5/5
Looks/Finish: 4/5

Comments:

  • BMX on DVD how could it not be value for money
  • TR4 introduced less comercial/more independent music, there’s some pretty good stuff in there, and apparently a CD soundtrack is on the way
  • It’s NOT region specific, so should run on pretty much anything.
  • The footage is good, a few more camera angles would have been nice, but the home video feel makes it feel more authentic anyway
