The Kool Stop International Brake Pad is Back
Here’s something for the old school fans.
There are very few brakes and brake pads from the 80’s that really did what they were intended to do…help the rider stop, or at least wash off some speed. For me there were only three pads that were memorable, there’s the Scott-Mathauser brake pads, the Vans brake pads by Kool Stop and Kool Stop international brake pads. Although the International was just as much about it’s looks as it’s “stopping power”. Now you would be right if you were to wonder if cooling fins would really do a great deal for BMX since it’s a sport that’s more about braking as little as possible.
Kool Stop have re-released the International with a slightly different mold that includes the Kool Stop logo on the braking surface so they aren’t confused with the originals.
